  1. its still a series 1 grill cause its designed to fit on a series 1.......
  2. It didnt happen to look like this did it? If so then its a series 1 grill and i dont know what its doing on a series 2 cause i thought they didnt fit?
  3. I went to the trouble of finding something handy for you: RB30DET + Supercharger from another forum. I think this member may be active on here as well but not sure I woulda posted the thread with all the info on it but i dont think im allowed to do that lol Its an Eaton M90 supercharger BTW and hope the person who owns doesnt mind me posting it here
  4. lol yeh theres to many names thrown around for it thats why i added the whatever in brackets Ive been calling it VCT for a while now, In the power FC sensor chec it has a VTC dot that comes on, but VCT makes more sense so i just use that. I didnt relise that in the R33's it just advanced everything 20 degrees from x to y in the rev range so this thread has taught me something interesting
  5. Makes sense paul so this may be a silly question i dunno, but what your saying is cause of a smaller size turbo, it reaches its max efficency at x amount of boost which is only x amount of airflow. So for example the heat generated inside his turbo at 18psi yielding x airflow will be more then the same amount of airflow from a bigger turbo at less boost. Btw, and im not trying to hijack this thread here lol, but can u shed any light on my problem with knock on quick gear changes (as mentioned 2 posts above) Cheers
  6. my cushion button clutch in my R33 Gtst is a bit clunky at low revs, sometimes jerks a bit so could just be a harsh clutch or something. But sounds like its developed additional problems since then? If you think its coming from your gearbox/flywheel area then maybe its best to just change the clutch to be sure
  7. Yeh i put the 7's in not long ago going from 6's im getting less knock and the car seems alot happier BKR7E FTW
  8. I have one except in mild steel, There a great sounding exhaust, not to loud and a nice note good luck with the sale, This is a good buy for anyone
  9. no replies? and i went to all the effort of putting those photos on photobucket and blanking out number plates... jeze anyways a while back i got told by one of the above members that they purchased there M-Sports Kit from DMD The Image for $1100, including S13 indicators (which are the ones pictured on the front bar)
  10. I just put mine in then. And its a hot day, i was working on it inside and was still sweating like crazy lol mine needs a few more adjustments to sit it down properly where its supposed to be but overall so far so good, seems to have dropped my temp down a bit Just as a note.... My afm would not fit through the hole in the air box, perhaps cause mines a Z32? anyways have something handy to trim it out a bit. and if your going to install it, budget at least an hour for all the little fiddly bits Not to hard to work out but
  11. original question: From what i know - R32 RB25 = No VCT/VVL (or whatever) - R33 onwards RB25 = VCT/VVL
  12. lol im trying to remember if i hit my limiter last night or just dreamt it. 1 or 2 other cars i was with did so who knows haha but the only time i get bad knock atm is when im doing quickshifts on 12psi (for example like racing at the drags that sorta shifting)
  13. Leave the stock BOV on there and disconnect the vac line. Doesnt that stop it from opening and that way it still looks like u got your stock bov? Im not 100% on this however
  14. well it depends really on what boost ur car was running when it was tuned. If it wasnt seeing 18psi while it was being tuned and the tuner just left the afr's and timing maps how they were in the regions on the map that your car wasnt hitting then that would explain the knock. I'd say if you think the tuner has barely touched it and just tried to steal some cash off you, take it somewhere else. If you've upped the boost since the tune then as i said he may not have accounted for that. But if its just when ur up around the limiter then you shouldnt really be hitting the limiter all that often anyway EDIT: R31Nismoid got in just before me. It could be just noise sense from the limiter but mine doesnt knock that much on limiter, cant give you a number cause havent hit the limiter for a while now but i dont think it was terribly high. Id say talk to someone who does tuning and see if they think the tune is a bit out
  15. opps i forgot to say in my post that i used a red multi LED bulb not a white one. I had the LED in one and a normalin in the one next to it and couldnt really tell the difference. The LED one was slightly reder i think..... But yeah remember a normal globe works much different to an LED. a normal globe will emit a duller light but emits it over a wider area, The LED is concentrated light so if you can get a multi-directional one it would be better. And def get a red one... Ive seen white LED's in some that look pink as said above. Red will do fine, worked in my old VL just wasnt that visible in the daylight, is much better in the skyline tail lights
  16. remember that LED's emit a brighter and more direct white light so you may end up getting a bit of a pink glow from your tail lights. I put one in mine that i had lying around and it didnt make much different. That is in a 33 GTST but.
  17. Thanks for organising this ash ill probably install mine on the weekend when i have time so ill hit u up with a trader rating then (if its good ) i have a mate that would be interested in a 32 box and can probably get another 1 or 2. Then i have a couple of mates with 34's and 33's that will probably want one also so im sure there will be no shortage in demand for these Still pretty keen to hear from some people with 33's in regards to how there install went so far though im impressed with how the box looks and my dummy fit looks like its gunna be doing the job
  18. These are some photos that have been sent to me from members of SAU, I hope they dont mind me doing so. Id be interested in seeing more photos if anyone else has/knows someone with one of these kits however. I reakon there a nice subtle kit (I've blanked out number plates, am i nice or what )
  19. I've been very interestd in these kits for quite a while now almost started a topic on it myself I have a few photos of some on skylines that have been sent to me by a few people. They look pretty good dont know where those photos are atm if i remember ill chase them up this arvo as for fitament, im not sure....
  20. more then likely mine had a stock clutch in it when i got it. you should know if they are stock as they are rather soft and have a wide pressure point..... (or whatever its called im having a mental blank) but if u run your car and press the clutch and the noise goes away then it could be your throwout bearing
  21. I'm currently in a similar boat, dont want the clutter of getting an aftermarket boost controller that is gonna sit in my interior someone and mess it up. Have looked into the pfc boost control kit a bit, have a mate who runs one and has never complained. They do the job if set up right, theres mixed opinions on here but, some saying there shit and some saying they work great
  22. ohhh i thought he was removing the whole thing..... fair enough good to hear mate, is it just getting pulled off for maintenance repair or mod's?
  23. lol i think mine is just where it was mounted. I dunno will have a look but might just have to adapt the cold air box to fit cause i dunno how much more room there is in front of the pod... I need a new one anyway who will be the first to put up a Tutorial with pics and what not.... that is the real question. I think ill be busy for at least a week plus i will have to fiddle with mine a bit lol
  24. tighten the screw on your ecu harness up a bit more, when i put my power fc in i didnt do it tight enough and it was idling rough and th vct was clicking on and off heaps. also check for damaged wires etc.
  25. throwout bearing sounds like if it happens when ur foots off the clutch mine does it and ive only had a new clutch/throwout bearing in there for about 5000km's im not sure why the throwout bearings wear or whatever they do so quick do have to say however mines not like what ur describing but yours could be considerably more worn then mine or perhaps incorrectly fitted? do you know if/when its had a clutch changed and if they replaced the throwout bearing?
