  1. hmmm thats a bit different, the only thing i can think of is if ur backing off and clutching at the same time you may be clutching just a slight bit before u take ur foot off and its just free reving a bit. If its doing it with no clutch and the car is actually accelerating slightly for a second when u take ur foot off then that is really weird
  2. so by your own reasoning you would be a skyline reject? Which means the skyline was supperior to your driving abilities? Seriously, coming onto a skyline forum and bagging out skylines to get a reaction? Yes congratulations it worked, we are all stunned and excited for you to achieve such greatness. Please accept my congratulations your doing your fellow RX7 drivers proud Im an ex VL owner and I sure as hell dont go back on Calais Turbo and post shit about how much better my skyline is. Grow up. In all honesty I like RX7's from about series 3 onwards. I however think your attitude gives RX7 owners a bad name On Topic: I agree theres alot of people in skylines that probably shouldnt be, which is maybe one of the reasons why some might consider me a snob etc when pulled up next to me at lights. I got sick of pulling up next to idiots in skylines/imports/ricers that as soon as you give them a look want to show you how 'fast' there car is. So i dont bother giving them a glance, and for those who are genuinely being respectful to the car i drive etc then i apologise
  3. Well I'm feeling pretty average so i fixed up my alternator/water pump belt and then felt to crap to start on the timing cover so ill probably get out and do it tomorrow morning. so im still up for advice for anyone whos done it and had the same problem as me. The best way i can describe the problem, and this will probably sound weird but it makes my car sound like a 2 stroke motorbike, like a CR80 or something lol. But yeh i think it may be the two timing covers rattling together or something in which case ill just run some silicon or something around the outside of the top one and give it another go like that
  4. me to? or did my payment not make it through last week?
  5. to easy ill go have another try forgot to mention i lost the centre bolt the first time i pulled it off but it was still doing it then. Ill try and make up a replacement bolt to put there in the mean time till i can go source one from nissan Thinking perhaps its the top cover pushing the bottom cover in on the belt or something which would explain why it does it more when the bottom bolts are tightened Thanks for the advice ill go have another shot
  6. I found that with the top two bolts tightened up it doesnt seem to do i but when i tighten the bottom to up it starts doing it i fiddled with it for ages last night and ended up pushig down on it and doing it up at the same time to get it to work ok but its still not perfect
  7. Hey all Did my 100,000km service yesterday and changed water pump, timing belt and tensioners put it all back together and get a odd noise from the timing belt area Take the cover back off and have a look and everything looks fine, put CAS on without the cover and it runs perfectly, everything sounds ok put the cover back on and start it and it makes the noise again, press down on the cover (from the top) and noise goes away soooo I have figured its gotta be a problem with how the cover is put on. Just after some advice on the best way to align it etc basiclly some advice from someone whos had this problem before. It doesnt appear as though the belt was rubbing cause when i took the cover off there were no marks on it I think it may have just been vibrating in one spot? just after advice Cheers
  8. oh i see damn aye in regards to the exhaust but i have a 3 inch turbo back with high flow cat and rear resonator + cannon and atm mines losing boost pressure up higher in the revs so im only pulling 170 on the dyno instead of about 200 which my tuner reakons i should be seeing so yeh I'll have to see if its the exhaust doing this but i suspect its the problem
  9. I test drove an R33 that i almost bought and it had the turbo timer mounted inside the ash tray. was good cause it was out of sight but im not sure the greddy trust would fit in there, i have the same one. Although i think i remeber dummy fitting it in there but being to slack to drill a hole or take out the little perspex type window in there I have mine mounted as above, cant go wrong
  10. pods are legal in qld if they are secured to the body (i.e bolted down not zip tied) and in NSW and VIC there legal if they are secured and enclosed right?
  11. i thought i was the first one to send money across lol my bank must be slow damn it oh well as long as its still coming im happy
  12. Agreed There wrecking the cars, wrecking the speed all to try and increase overtaking. And now Bernie wants the championship decided by medals! Thats rediculous, how hard is it to kick the retards at the top out and put people in that actually want the sport to continue to thrive. All there cost cutting bullshit has just lead to lots of increased costs to adjust everyones cars and engines.....
  13. This wouldnt cause it to be that far out, and im not sure on the specifics of that dash and the drivline its designed for but ur ratios could be different to wat it was designed for but i dont think this would cause it to be that far out. I know for a fact that the speed sensor goes to the speedo then to the ecu, or they run to the dash and ecu on a seperat system. My speed wire was cut at my ecu so when i got my power fc my speed was always at 0 but my speedo worked fine i dont supposed thats much help but i thought id just throw it in there. One of the wires that went up to your old dash would be the speed wire yeah? If you could get it on a dyno or even put it on stands or something and put it in gear and let ur foot off the clutch and sorta increase speed a bit and use a multimeter to find the wire with an increasing voltage and use that wire if using that wire doest work then perhaps theres something wrong with the cluster have a good christmas and once again i apologise for giving u what may be useless information lol
  14. Well Honda F1 are gone, atm i dunno where that leaves rubens and jensen Lots of new rules, ruduction in Aero, rear wings width has been reduced, front wings are now allowed to be lower, much like they used to be, expect no more spoon wings return to full slicks umm yehhhh haha. Team-wise.... Vettel to red-bull I think has happened thats all I can remember atm havent been following off season much More rule changes coming in the next couple of years but, the sport is gonna get run into the ground there trying to take the speed away from it, the very thing that makes formula 1 what it is
  15. reset ur ecu i had this problem after having an atmo bov on for a couple of days then putting the stock one back on. Car was still stalling and acting up on idle ended up taking off and cleaning aac valve, cleaning afm, playing with tps did heaps of stuff then i just ended up resetting the ecu by unplugging the battery and pressing brake, turning lights etc on to drain all the power and then plugged it back in and ran perfect. Some say u need to do more then that to reset the ecu so maybe a good idea to do what i did then leave it unplugged overnight
  16. well as long as the engine is putting out less power then what the clutch is designed for (or a similar amount of power even) then it shouldnt just slip for no reason. maybe it just needs to bed in if its only just been installed but if it was done with the engine then im not sure it shouldnt be slipping is it doing it all the time?
  17. hmmm your rear main seal has begun to leak and some oil got on your clutch maybe? or your clutch may have just had some clutch dust or something on it from over use?
  18. Why hasnt this been stickied yet lots of good information, should be a sticky in either this thread or the DIY/Tutorials thread really Appreciate the guide, will come in handy when it comes time to put mine on
  19. +1 for area behind rear seats i made a bracket to hang down from the computer for the demister etc or whatever it does, so it just bolts on and hangs off that so I can take it off if one day i decide i want a different amp or something
  20. If its an RB25 then its the VCT kicking in, does it wit a bit of a touch of the throttle
  21. I'll come to autobahn88's rescue lol i have the intercooler piping kit on my car, came with the intercooler i got and i cant complain, it does what its meant to and lines up pretty well etc hey they had to have one positive comment right? lol but i see ur point, above pictures show some pretty dodgy work
  22. lol sounds like a plan plus i want to hear how it sounds with only the dump pipe on it pobably sound like shit but oh well lol yeah ive been told that the series 2 R33 rubber intake pipes have a steel spring in them to prevent i from collapsing so im trying to source one of them to test that theory, if so ill just use one of them till i put my front facing plenum on then get my pipe from turbo to intercooler changed from factory to stainless and a stainless intake pipe
  23. photoshop onto car i dunno they could look good on a black car but its a bit hard to tell without seeing them on there atm can see why everyone would think they would look crap but maybe they would look good?
  24. I dont have a mechanic, all work has been done by myself and father lol yeh Im going home to try exhaust (away for christmas at the moment so im just really after ideas to try when i get back) Intake pipe is a possibility to had thought about tubo or actuator but i think they are both ok actuator maybe? any advice on how to test that? Any ideas are appreciated
  25. Hi Guys I have a 1994 R33 GTST with stock turbo, Tomei Fuel Pump, GKTech intercooler, dual stage boost controller, power fc..... Anyways, car has been tuned and is set to 12psi at the moment. The other day it was put on a dyno for a power run and slight touch up of the tune. Now for the problem. The boost graph showed that it boosted up to 12psi as normal, spiked to about 12.5psi (fair enough) then as it got to around say 4500rpm it slowly dropped to about 9.5psi or so nearing redline. Im just after some peoples opinions on what they think it could be. Have been suggested by tuner that it could be an exhaust restriction and i will test this theory when i get back home by pulling the cat out and going for a drive. It was also suggested that it could be my intake pipe from afm to turbo closing under higher boost levels then designed for. So tell me what you guys think if you have any new ideas btw plugs are ngk coppers gapped to 0.8, probably could do with a change soon but should still be ok Cheers guys Callan
