  1. Nice Let me know
  2. updates? its been a while since the 'deadline' whats happening with this?
  3. Ok i went to DOT on monday morning and spoke to one of the people at compliance and she went and got some info for me. She told me to get together some evidence and send it away to Queensland transports office in Brisbane and the guy there has the power to overturn it without having to take everything through court so I've just written a letter up, have 2 statements from roadworthy approved examiners and will get some hi res photos to send along as well. At the end of the day thats all i can do and if thats not enough then at least i tried. One thing i had someone say could be bad another say could be good is that the officer only wrote 'oil leaks' on the notice and didnt specify where. One of the people I saw said that could be used against me as I could just state a completly diferent place to what was shown and say theres no oil at all there The other said that the officer failed to be specific and this could be argued against him anyways I will let you know what happens Cheers for all the help guys Callan

    Fuel Pump

+1 for the tomei/nismo Quiet and has good pickup right down to near empty. Good flow rate to and easy to install have heard nothing but bad things from a mate with a walbro in his 32 4 door and have limited experience with the bosch. Hear its noisey and has a bad pickup
  6. took it to someone who does roadworthies today. He said he wouldnt fail it, and that the law surrounding it is open to discussion really. So I'll see how I go if anyone has successfully contested this i wouldnt mind hearing from you. Ill leave it how it is for now anyway, take it to another roadworthy guy monday and see what they say. After everything is cleared or not then ill probably replace the seal Cheers Callan
  7. the screw is tight and i have accidentally knocked a bottle of oil while it was sitting on my engine which may have gone there but i dont remember thats what that was about
  8. Its not dripping onto the ground, the severity i dont believe is enough to warrant a defect
  9. what i want to do is go to qld transport say 'ill clean it then u can come outside and watch me rev the car and see if any oil comes out' i think if oil is not leaking under normal operating conditions then it shouldnt matter. Its not really a leak, i think it may even be just spilt oil from a serice, will get a photo up for better judgement but yeah rather petty really
  10. its not dripping out, im not sure its even a leak. Its been there since i bought the car off a dealer. The oil is old and dirty. Hopefully i can get someone to see that and have the charge dismissed. Ill see what happens anyway. Anyone else had something simliar? still open to advice/similar cases
  11. Hi All after some advice I just got a defect for having an oil leak at the back of the tappet cover on the right hand side of the engine (looking from the front) Know this is a common skyline thing but i dont believe it to be classed as a leak i want to contest it as i only have one point left and this defect will lose me that one point Someone told me if i take it to a mechanic and get them to OK it that its not leaking then i can take it to qld transport and probably get out of it What is peoples advice, i really cant lose my license right now Cheers Callan
  12. +1 my Pod is getting rather hot in this sunny queensland weather
  13. Sweet as Will await PM
  14. howd it go? I didnt get a PM lol but i dont think you made it back on at 5 by the looks of things?
  15. To easy he may be interested in being a guinea pig for an R32 trial if your after one. Let me know and ill see if he wants to Cheers
  16. Cops are not going to believe u when u say its not a GTR most cops werent born yesturday, they can tell its a GTR or at least a turboed skyline. Stealth mods wont do anything, think about it, what kinda non turboed car has two intake pipes on the righ and a front facing plenum on the left. Get an R33 or R32 GTS4 or something plenty of people on here will stand by them saying they are still a fun car to drive. Then when your P-plating days are over just whack a 26 in there. Build a deent one while ur on your P's There is no way to completly hide the fact that its a gtr unless ur willing to remove - badges, wide guards, all engine pipes and replace with non turbo looking ones (no idea how u would properly do that), remove vin plate (illegal anyway) and replace with a N/A one as for the low powered car u had in mind..... Dont quote me on this but if its a 3 cylinder turbo producing less then 80kw or maybe 100kw then u are allowed to drive it. Also turbo diesels as long as they dont outweigh the power to weight ratios allowed. something like that anyway. I rolled around in a VL Calais NA with a cammed RB30 for a bit. It was pretty decent for a non turboed car.....
  17. Cops are not gonna be confused by a heat shield and painted intake pipe. There are other things indicating its a GTR. Intercooler, badging, vehicle plate etc. I would advise strongly against doing it as you will not get away with it, or not get away with it for long at the very most. As for the insurance. If you insure it in your dads name and then provide his details in an accident it leaves you open to criminal charges for fraud and providing false information (I think that is correct anyway) Normally u can drive your parents car if you are noted as a driver of the car but as its turboed this will not work. Also if the car is in an accident and it needs to be looked and and quoted for repair and they see its turboed then u will be in big trouble Bottom line, dont do it. P-Plate laws are there for a reason.
  18. cant wait to grab one of these just a question for a mate. how hard would they be to fit to a 32 GTST? with stealth intercooler so stock piping.
  19. BTW if its a non retun valve/one way valve, it would have a flow direction on it, mine doesnt
  20. looked like a fuel pressure reg to me so i left it out runs fine without it and im not doing it again just to put that in lol
  21. Nismo, Tomei and HKS(?) fuel pumps are all made by the same company in the same factory pretty much identical pumps and can anyone confirm wether that is a fuel pressure regulator or what cause if its a fuel pressure reg then it goes in the engine bay not in the fuel tank. Im not 100% on what it is though :S
  22. PM Sent They look really good for the price
  23. Trent from Punchbowl FTW! lol Oh the ratings they would have then......
