the whole idea of a high octane fuel is so the engine wont detonate on boost. Higher octane fuel burns cooler and faster? (from memory) the tune is probably run for 95 it would be possible to run 91 i guess but i dont think ud ever be able to hit boost and it would be really unsafe anyway

nah in 18's thats the only size and offset there offered in might have to search for alternate wheels then cause i didnt really want to have to use spacers dont mind the koya inox R1's so might go for them as they have a little bit of dish to them
-
yeh im not worried about it scraping, i just dont want the wheels to sit to far in the guards which it sounds like they will, on the back at least. Was thinking of maybe putting 15mm spacers on the back and whatever i need in the front, that will bring it almost back to where they sit now Anyone who has similar offset on there wheels could you please post what they look like/what youve done if uve spaced them out Cheers
-
yeh there hell nice mags but will sit under the guards alot with that offset and wheel size thats why i had the idea of spacing them out 15mm or so. not sure yet really just want opinions and photos (if anyone has the same mags) currently have R32 GTR mags, on the calculator going from them to the 5ZR's i had 7mm less clearance on the inside and 19mm more distance on the outside car is on stock suspension at the moment but will drop it down a little when i get coilovers

Hi Just a really quick question on 5Zigen 5ZR mags I really want these for my R33 but just want to make sure they will fit before i go buying them I'm interested in the 18 x 7.5 PCD 5/114.3 Offset +43 I have searched around here and believe that with this offset the rims will fit fine as there only 3mm more offset then the stock rims, just want to confirm that they will fit, and want to know how far inside the guards they might sit I may have to space them out? I'm also chasing pics if anyone has put these rims on there car as im very interested to see what people have done and how they look Cheers

I think the plastic is just painted, just not a normal kinda paint. seen many skyline interiors resprayed to look better then ever, and like said above it costs alot less. I did it on my VL, full repsray of every bit of dash and probably cost me less then 100 bucks. 3 years later and it hasnt faded, cracked or even marked
-
Cheers for that, sent an enquiry to both but only MuSecret seem to have them Anyone else know of another Australian distributor of these wheels?
-
As title says, im after 5Zigen 5ZR 18 inch hyper silver mags for my skyline (r33 gtst) so far ive found heaps of american shops online for these mags, only one australian shop so far that sells them. Does anyone know a good place where i can get these rims from, in a package with tyres would be excellent but if it had to just be the rims id be more then happy. any help would be great in pointing me in the right direction etc would be greatly appreciated Thanks

thanks for clearing the bn thing up, ive heard a few ppl say there was a normal bn kit that was a bit less extreme then the bn sports but i guess its like u said and just in the way different shops advertise it Pm sent about the m-sports be nice to see some pics of m-sports kits so if anyone has one post it up
-
My 1994 GTST Is stock standard at the moment pretty much apart from the gtr wing and rear pods, Love the sunroof Are there any photos of r33's with M-Sport kits on them? Thinking about getting one sometime Dont mind the HSV seat covers, they were only to stop my seat from getting dirty lol i have AMR ones now
-
Hi Had a bit of a search and couldnt really find much on this I believe there are two types of BN bodykits (BN and BN Sports) I can find heaps of info, pictures, kits that are BN sports, but none that are just BN. Just after some pics of the two, or maybe someones mislead me and there is only BN Sports so if thats the case can someone clear it up for me? also after any similiar kits that sit higher off the ground (like the m-sports) Also after some pics of where you guys have mounted aftermarket boost gauges in R33's as I'll be doing this soon and was gonna go for a pillar gauges but am sorta thinking against that now Cheers for any help/pics

haha yeh, i think its just the fact that its leaking vacum so its not trying to pull the bov up therefore its not opening that little bit that makes it stall going to do the sensible thing and see if i can make it recurculate by making a replacement for the trumpet, dont believe i will lose much sound this way (?) and it will be legal and should hopefully idle right just so i know, can anyone verify that it will idle fine if the bov is open a bit on idle if its on recirculate? im thinking it will but will be nice to know before doing it to save troubles. Thanks
-
ill give that a go had a play with it last night, hooked my bov up to where my fuel regulator (i think thats wat it is anyway) is hooked up and just left the hole where u usually hook the bov up to on the plenum open so it had a vacum leak basically and it idled perfectly..... so my idea and i dont think its a very good one is to t-piece off the fuel reg or watever i used last night and make a line to go to the bov from there and then i dunno wat ill do with the other hole, as soon as i blocked it off though with my bov running to the front hole in the plenum it would stall so it would only work when it had a vacum leak.... ideas?
-
went back to stock for a bit but just put a greddy bov on have found that it will work fine if the bov closes fully on idle, but for some reason its opening slightly, as if it has to much vacum if i hold it closed and just give it a bit of revs and let it drop back to idle it idles fine any ideas on how i can reduce the vacum? dont really want to make it any harder as its close to the point were it will frequently give me compressor surge
-
like i said, reset ur ecu thats how i fixed mine, lol forgot this was my thread but other ppl seem to still be stumped, reset ur ecu and it should be fine if uve run an aftermarket bov then gone back to normal only for it to stall

because i dont need my door to lock automatically? I was purely seeing how hard it was to have both the demister work and auto door lock feature disabled....... i know have it set back to factory with the door locking automatically no its not a big inconvienience to let someone out when i stop but its so much easier if the door doesnt lock.... thanks for your help Jack88 but i think im with you in saying it is to much effort to set it up so that i have what i want. Thought it would be a bit easier then that haha oh well Cheers for the help guys
-
bump want to get help asap cause atm my dash is apart ready for watever i need any help would be good
-
sweet as so basically im missing power from one of the wires that comes to the demister switch? or am i missing an earth that is made buy going through the central locking box? theoretically if i was to wire up something like...... may as well take the hazard light switch as its right next to it, bridge the wire from one to the other (depending on if its earth or power of course....) she would be sweet? eh probably confused everyone there haha. oh well if anyones done it and is willing to tell me how or show me a thread where its been done it would be much appreciated cheers
-
ahh i see, thought it might have had something to do with that, thats kinda annoying but cause its good not having the passanger door lock is it possible to run an alternate power supply to this wire so the doors will still not lock but the demister will still work? i might go back to the diy forum (and search as well) to see if anyone has done it) Thanks Jack88, had a big weekend planned for the weekend just gone and have been working heaps so havent really had time to play around with to much so just needed someone to help me out so appreciate that, ill check it out tomorrow if its not raining again cheers
-
are the c-pillar covers just clipped on? basically its like the switch is sending power to the demister but its not turning it on and keeping it on i dunno, just want to try and get it sorted, will look at the connections on the c pillar once someone tells me how to get them off cheers
-
hey ive already had a multimeter on the back of the switch and it reads 12ish volts on one of the plugs all the time (constant power) 12ish volts on one plug with the lights on (illum wire) 12ish volts on another plug when the switch is held in it doesnt seem to work when i just hold it in either, its a weird one cause it worked fine up until the other day, it actually worked really well and would demist really quick ive checked the fuse and its ok is there anything else like this that i can check? is there a demister module or something in the car? not a huge problem atm but def something i want to fix
-
btw: unsure if it was working or not b4 i did these changes, i had the car jack out the day b4 i did it i dunno much about the demister system like if theres something located somewhere else in the car for it need some help
-
Hi all My rear demister stopped working the other day, ive checked power at the switch and pulled the switch apart to look inside and everything seems fine so im guessing it could be somewhere else down the line the other day i disconnected the wire that auto locks the passanger door when the car goes over 20kmh (or watever speed) and hooked up my turbo timer to my speed sensor wire that goes into the ecu (except this wire was cut from the ecu and run to a wire that went down the passanger side, not sure why......) i doubt the speed sensor wire would have anything to do with the demister, nor the central locking system but im gunna try reconnecting them just to see. if anyone has any ideas throw them out and ill give them a go any more info needed just ask Cheers

hasnt missed a beat today, Dragonforce: try resetting ur ECU quick search would tell u how to do that but its pretty easy, just unplug battery and put ur foot on the brake for a few seconds no problems at all with the car stalling now, returns to idle perfectly and runs a little bit better i think

some suggestions as to where i might have a leak (common places)?
