  1. Personally dont like the look of those data monitors, but to me that seems like a very well thought out and nice setup. The alarms in my gauges piss me off but they are either on or off. Would be great to have a buzzer cancel and alarm wired up to a 5psi oil pressure switch to cancel it when the cars off If I had the money and room, I'd have so much crap in my car haha
  2. What do you use the car for? I use penrite 10tenths racing 10w40 but I have a fair bit of work done. You could still use it but would be fine to run a cheaper semi synth
  3. I have performance valve springs and 23psi with a hypergear ss2 and not having valve float issues. Didnt have issues with standard springs and 18psi on a HKS GT2835KAI
  4. They are probably like the link ones. Some of the inputs/outputs are different and had to be changed on my 25 I would suggest asking for a map from whatever car you have to make it easier
  5. I like it
  6. Big pair of multigrips work as well. I've done the hammer and screwdriver one before as a last resort. At the end of the day it doesnt matter if you destroy the filter as long as you get it off
  7. Is it a Bendix pad problem as well perhaps? I don't go near Bendix, always use QFM pads. Never had them squeal. I've got all the shims in but no grease etc. I get the occasional squeal (I'm talking maybe for 1 week in the year on a daily driver) but other then that the pads are great.
  8. I used to run Motul X-cess 8100 10w40. Its full synthetic vs the turbolight only being a semi-synthetic I've changed to Pentrite 10-tenths racing 10w40 on my current engine which is similar to yours by the sound of it. CP pistons, spool rods, Arp studs, cams etc etc. The Penrite stuff seems good so far. I'm only running 98RON at the moment, might have to re-think oil choice when going to E85 but will cross that bridge when I get there, have done zero research on that side of it at the moment. I run a Hypergear turbo as well, I've found it to be great value for money. Performs well and Stao is great do deal with. Local support is a great thing, trust me, I speak from experience. If you want true E85 injectors, the Bosch 1300cc are the best to get, but they are pricey. They have stainless steel internals so they should never play up from having E85 sit in them for long periods of time. The 1000cc's should be fine though if you are planning on driving the car daily/weekly
  9. Not so close to the thread end that you hit the thread but, or aim beside the thread. Just gotta cover all bases. Wont be much fun if the thread on the filter stud is wrecked The strap type filter wrenches are usually the best, because you have so many options with what you can use to get them off (e.g. extension bar, adjustable head ratchet etc.) I use mine on heavy machinery filters all the time, and it has worked on just about every filter cartridge I've ever put it on. Should have no trouble on a Z145a. When you install the new ones follow the instructions. They don't need to be done up as tight as you can get them + 1 turn. Usually when it touches the o-ring, go another 2/3 of a turn.
  10. I disagree. Some very nice photos there Ill have to head out and get some photos one of these days
  11. Bit biased, but Ferrari is the best looking car so far. The new red bull may be even better though
  12. Is it causing an actual problem with the car? Seen as you can read the code, can you also monitor/log data? I would be doing that with anything ignition related that you could think of. RPM, Ignition angle and anything else that looks related. See if anything drops off all of a sudden. Did you replace the coils with brand new ones? Try checking the wiring for problems. You can use a multimeter to check for resistance between the coilpacks and ECU etc. But multimeter wont always show a problem, as it may need some electrical load before it loses continuity. Still worth a look
  13. To really do anything worthwhile, it needs to be engine out, paint the bay, tidy up/replace anything that looks faded etc and paint My NA engine was fairly showy
  14. Sauber C34, Nice that it adds a bit of colour to the field, but thats about the only nice thing I have to say about it Very bare this year....
  15. Ferrari launch tonight isnt it? Interested to see if they have followed mercedes away from the different design they both had last year
  16. Scooby doo wrote the topic title
  17. New Mclaren has very similar scheme to previous model. A bit dissapointed to be honest
  18. Because Maldonado is a big Piggy Bank
  19. Well if you measure your hose internal and external diameter and you get, for example, 3.02" and 2.99", then its fairly safe to say its a 3" hose The external diameter of the outlet is usually close to the hose size. 68mm is 2.662" so if you were measuring the bead then I would say 2.5" hose would fit Are the pipes out of the cooler tanks this size or was that cooler pipes?
  20. Check the outer diameter on the cooler and inner diameter of the hose, and remember it will stretch if it is 1-2mm smaller Its not exactly rocket science
  21. EDIT: thought we were talking major sponsor. Seems CNN have only payed for wing endplate sponsorship
  22. Circuit Sports do a side feed rail which I believe is dual entry, but could be wrong I agree that you may as well go top feed modern injectors, but if you are hell bent on sticking with side feed then I would suggest the circuit sports rail
  23. RB25's tend to want to run a bit rich at idle. I think as rich as 13.2:1 I've seen to give a nice smooth idle. Off the top of my head I used to run 13.6:1 when I had the Power FC in mine. Agree about the idle screw, was thinking that the other day. If its wound all the way in the solenoid/valve might be able to compensate just enough to idle, but when its going from higher revs to idle, it can't adjust quick enough or far enough to give a smooth idle.
  24. OP has an R33, the DIY relates to an R32 I think the fan comes on with Air Con when certain parameters are met on R33, but can't say for sure. Either way, mine works fine everywhere, and I have ridiculous amounts of exhaust heat near the air con pipes, so It sounds a little bit like condensor problem anyway. Is there a fair bit of water coming out of the drain all the time? No smell of stale water etc in the car?
  25. World champion stand is good, I was there the last 2 years, Undercover and screen in front. Get to see pretty much 3 corners. If you decide to go there, sit near the back. Its Melboure, and it will rain, you'll get wet in the front few rows. If not, sun is a killer there anyway. I think I sat 3rd from the back row last year, back row about dead centre of the grand stand would be the best, but probably sold out (stand B I think it was)
