  1. Does anyone know what the fasterst times in each class were? Dani.
  2. Will be heading out to the track this Sat too so see you guys out there. Agree with tyre pressure comments above. 30 psi tyre pressures are for the real (ie RE55s etc) semi-slicks with the heavily reinforced side walls I believe. Street tyres are generally run at the 40psi + mark. I think the Circuit Club instructors actually recommended 45psi (hot) for street tyres. I am using RE070s on the front this weekend for the first time. These are the softer (treadwear 140) Bridgestone OEM tyres for the WRX Sti which apparently have strong side walls. Will be interested to see how they perform. Running standard Adrenalins (RE070 only come in one size in 17) on the back so hope they keep up! Dani.
  3. Great to see so many nice skylines out there on Anzac day. Conditions were perfect! Managed to get down to a 1.14.6 in the final session which was good for me and the old boat. The next step is semi's and coil-overs I think! Dani.
  4. Will try and make it! The Christmas trackday was fun but had to leave early as rear brake pads were shot. My tires got chewed up pretty badly too for some reason. I have done a few trackdays at Wakefiled and i never got chunks torn out of my tire as badly as I did on that day..
  5. Had a great day thanks Amy. Great to get some drift and grip practise in. Mid-afternoon i heard a banging sound coming from near the drivers foot area. Turned out the front swaybar had torn off its mounting point to the suspension on the right side of the car - so I had to call it a day early. Getting it fixed at the moment at Unique. Cant wait for the next day - it was really fun. Dani.
  6. Hi Guys, I really need this out of Unique Auto Sports this week, so I am dropping the price to $700 for the lot. Anybody interested?
  7. Hi All, I have recently done an engine re-build/swap into my car and the old engine plus left over parts are for sale. The engine is in a semi-dismantled state which is perfect if you are planning a re-build – rocker covers off, cams out and lifters out. The engine had done 180,000kms at the time and definitely was using a lot of oil, which is why the engine swap was done. The engine plus ancillary parts are sitting at Unique Autosports in Seven Hills. Please call me for details: 0404 556 219 I am asking for $1000 or nearest offer. Thanks.
  8. The right bolster of the drivers seat has split at the seam (if you are handy with a needle and thread you can probably fix it yourself). Similarly, the pocket on the back of the seat has come unstiched on one side. The passenger seat is fine. No rips or tears.
  9. I have a pair that I want to get rid of. They are not in very good condition (worn, drivers side need a little repair work) but would be ok if you just want something to pass rego or sell the car. PM me if you are interested.
  10. I think Blits bodykits in QLD make ADR approved ones.
  11. I know that Unique Autosports just lost one of their main mechanics (Andrew). They might be thinking about hiring a passionate apprentice right now! Unit 1, 20 Tucks Rd, Seven Hills NSW 2147.. ph 9620 9000, fax 9620 9111
  12. Nice video Pez! The Evo really looks like it can pivot in turns! It must be that Active Yaw Control! Dani.
  13. Hi! Yes, I got rid of the heavy tint so that I wasnt a hazard to other motorists when I changed lanes! I just have standard tint on it now. The car is great. Just a few problems with oil consumption which I am trying to work out. The gearbox is fantastic - i think it has a quick shift kit installed. Much better than other standard skylines I have tried. I have uprated the discs and pads which work really well at the track at the moment. Dani.
  14. I will definitely get a compression check done. Thanks for the spring/tiecable tip. Sequence of events goes like this: Day 1: First few sessions had a wierd engine misfire feeling coming out of tight, high g corners (especially out of last turn at wakefield before main straight). In about the fourth session of the day, afterturn 2, I heard a loud bang and the engine started to run badly. I immediately pulled over and got towed back into the pits. Checked under the bonnet, and the rubber hose that connects to the intercooler pipe that runs across the top of the engine had come off. Oil had come out and dribbled all over the turbo shield below. I reconnected the pipe, and the car ran perfectly for the rest of the day (3 more sessions). Day 2: I checked the oil on the dip-stick in the morning before the start of day 2. It said empty, so I put in 2 litres of Motul. Car had the same strange misfire problems in the first session. Session 2 - I tried adding octane booster. No improvement. Still misfiring. Session 3 - I unplugged the same rubber hose that had blown off the day before and found a little dribble of oil (maybe 10-20ml total?) inside which I drained out. Car ran perfectly. Session 4 - followed the procedure again. No misfire. Session 5 - followed the procedure again. No misfire. Session 6 -added about 400 ml of oil just as a precaution as I had emptied out a bit by now. Immediately had misfire problem again when I went out on the track, this time quite violent. When I came back in, the dipstick had been blown out of the small pipe it sits in, and oil had sprayed all over the inside of the hood. I have a suspicion that the dip stick is reading incorrectly for some reason (maybe the engine has been swapped before, and the dipstick is for the wrong engine block?). This leads me to overfill the engine with oil, which then leads to oil building up in the rubber hose, causing a problem. Hmmm... If I can sort out my engine issues, I will join you guys in May! Dani.
  15. I was there on Friday. I think an s14 lost a wheel after encountering one of the large ripple strips at the top of the hill. Matt might have some photos of the incident. We were warned not to go over the ripple strips like people used to before the resurface. Dani.
  16. Pez started off in the 1.20s and got into the 1:17s by the end of the day. I had a best of 1:19.1. So much to learn! *Edit - Here's youtube vid of some hardcore Suzuki swifts - 700kg when stripped! - The owner told me that they get down into the 1:13s!* Dani.
