k speed

Speedo was stuck on zero on my r33 and gauge works fixed it right up. Has been fine for 5 yrs now

Hi all I'm after a few bits for my s1 r33 Stereo Mounts, mine have been taken let me know if you have them (PLEASE HELP!) passenger side guard pref white if cheap aftermarket steering wheel with boss kit that works with HICAS and is ADR approved dash surround in good condition (the part that goes around the stereo) Cigarette Lighter boot trim grey I also have a m spec front bar i need re sprayed white, I have got a couple of quotes but they want $700 just to do the bar!!! So if anyone knows a paint shop that isn't run by a$$holes please let me know IMHO $300 is reasonable. Please PM me if you have any of this stuff or know a decent paint shop Thanks for Reading!

I'd just like to add that someone very close to me had their R33 stolen lately and add this message for anyone who is thinking about confronting car theives when the cops recovered the car they found a 12 gauge shotgun a lot of ammo and handcuffs in the car and apparently the car was used in an armed robbery! While I'd love to see street justice inflicted on car theives no car is worth getting killed over think twice before you start a fight with theiving F$#(%unless you plan to shoot 1st!!

I brought my 1993 R33 gtst over from Sydney about 4 years ago The ID check at regency is pretty painless they just had a quick look at the car, barely looked at the engine took under 30 minutes. But I did remove the aftermarket BOV and air filter before I took it there. The car had also been lowered and had illegally dark window tinting. The guy tested the tinting and said it was too dark but he only recommended I remove it, I didn't remove it and still have it now 4 years later with no problems, they didnt mention anything about the height of the car. My mates said I was ok because the car is white and I was wearing a suit Once the ID check is completed you go to the motor registration office where you get new licence plates and pay for your new registration plus stamp duty plus a fee for re registering the car. Because your car was most likely expensive you should check the stamp duty rate here: http://www.revenuesa.sa.gov.au/index.html?http://www.revenuesa.sa.gov.au/stamps/stampd.html It cost me at least $500 to register and transfer my car. I calculated the stamp duty for a $40,000 GTR it is $1,540 plus the transfer and registration fees so I wouldn't go there with under $2,000. As for insurance I use just cars. They are one of the few people that will insure an import without requiring a lock up garage, just MAKE SURE YOU GET AN IMMOBILISER AND ALARM!!!! I haven't claimed though just cars so I can't say what that is like. Hope this was of some help

I had this same problem. As one of the previous posters mentioned it only seems to happen during summer, since it has been cold lately I haven't noticed the problem at all. I have purchased a spare s1 hicas unit that I will install if the problem crops up again. If that doesn't clear it up I guess I'll try the speed sensor or one of the other solutions involving the plugs. I was going to get a HICAS lock bar but the consensus on the forums is that this won't work.

In case anyone is still reading this topic the cops did a letter drop with a pack of stuff including a brochure with a guy taking his gf on a date on the back of bike (that really cheered me up) but they did mention this: http://www.carsafe.com.au/ Where apparently you can get an immobiliser fitted for around $200. I'm not sure of the quality, but its is a lot less than the $800 I have been quoted. Unfortunately I didn't have $800 the day I got my old removed (it was broken) hence why there was no security on my car. Hope this helps!!

Got a call from the cops yesterday.looks like the car has been recovered. from what they said its not burned or crashed but im going to check the damage tonight.thanks for keep ing an eye out everyone. Once its fixed im gonna get insurance and move to a better area. Keep an eye on your rides, these c¥#@s are still out there

Thanks for keeping an eye out. I only had standard headlights but the car had clear indicators. Where you saw the car is very close to where it was taken from and the cops said someone saw it being driven dangerously in the area so it was probably it I'll keep an eye out thanks again

Thanks for the messages guys I have uploaded a picture of the front of the car and I'll see if I can find one that shows the black racing stipes on the side and the black rims. Like I said I'm not holding my breath but we'll see what happens Cheers

Hi All Last Wednesday night my series 1 R33 gtst was stolen from my driveway. It has a few distinctive features including a sunroof, very dark tinting, black racing stripes on each side, TRIAL front bar (very low), black 18" five spoke k speed pro gear rims with chrome lip and a seductive motorsports sticker on the rear window. It also had a k&n air filter and type 2 turbosmart bov. Unfortuately the alarm and immobiliser had just been removed after some other F$*k's tried to take it in largs bay and I was just in the process of sourcing a new security system. Car wasn't insured either so its a pretty big loss. If anyone sees the car or similar parts for sale please pm me. I know it was stupid to have no security but i thought it would be ok parked 2 metres from my house until I got a new system. The rims are pretty distinctive I have never seen them on another car so they are bound to show up somewhere. I don't have huge hopes for getting it back but any info would be great Thanks for reading

I'm not sure if this will help but I had something similar in my series 1 r33 gtst stock cept for a Turbosmart s2 BOV and K&N air filter. It would stall when pulling up to lights. My mechanic said it was the air filter getting blocked, not enough air getting through. I got my air filter cleaned and the problem has stopped. Might be worth cleaning/replacing your air filter
