30mm Wide Wheel Spacers On Front Wheel ?
made_guy replied to felixy69's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
read a few of the posts in this thread and check the links to other threads. basically it puts a lot of strain on your suspension system. there's more to it tho. i'm just tired -
don't they have little plastic brackets for a fire extinguisher? probably a bit small though i think. maybe they;re for a flare or some sort of weapon?

30mm Wide Wheel Spacers On Front Wheel ?
made_guy replied to felixy69's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
that's not a correct analogy there dude. the question is where the balance is. the 6 ' person has a body set up, and centre of gravity relative to their height, while the one in heels is not set up up for that height, and will experience strain in critical joints (hips, knees and ankles) because of this. Offset just says where the hub of a wheel sits in relation to the rim, but the hub is ALWAYS the central part. Think about it this way, the wheel hub is always in contact with the hub on your rotors, it never moves. regardless of offset, it will still be matched to the rotor, just the rim the hub is attached to will move in or out. Spacers will dramatically alter the way in which the hub is matched to your rotor, and the rest of your suspension linkages. That said....i'm about to fit some bolt on spacers this weekend.... -
Apexi Power Fc With Commander Brand New

^^^^ WORD!! I'm bumping this up because too many people are getting ripped off on scams like this one (Including myself). It's pretty obvious from the lack of detail, number of posts and the way the post is written that this is a scam, but it can look like SUCH a good deal that people just can't resist! THERE WILL be more cheap (maybe not this cheap) LEGIT power fc's in good time, just hang around and you see genuine ones come up for around the 1-1.2k mark! Any newby or people desparate for a pfc, please pay attention and don't get caught! Take your time even if it means missing out on something because you annoyed the seller!! Ask heaps of questions, get info on the seller, arrange to meet at their house if possible, even get a photo of their licence, if they're legit, they probably won't mind cos they have nothing to worry about. And if you do miss out on a bargain because you were trying to be certain, at least yiou haven't lost your money!! AND if you do get ripped off, do yourself and everyone else a favour and report it to the police and do everything in your power to catch the people doing this. If you just let it go, or think you'll run into them down the track, it means you're leaving these guys/girls free to scam someone else in the meantime. -

Update: Got the 4th wheel back and it is perfect!!! except for the little mark that i put on it taking it out of the boot when i got home which you can see in the photo. also there is some overspray on the rim itself that you can see (i'm a bit annoyed cos i liked the anodised blue even though you can't see it with tyres on them.. so here it (they) is ready to go:

About To Do Timing Belt For First Time :s
made_guy replied to cosworth1971's topic in General Maintenance
isn't it hard to actuall 'pull' the harmonic balancer off as well? ie need a proper puller? -
its behind your oil sump.
-
$20 for the airbox? oh and whereabouts are you at?
-
^^ true that - no need to change your cooler - just the fmic's outlet pipe. unless of course you want a new intercooler...

as above, but in different terms: if the clutch is worn it means its slipping away some of the power being produced by the engine rather than transferring/clamping it to the driveshaft. not sure what good a 'tough' dyno is (wouldn't an accurate one me more useful?), i'm assuming they mean the rollers are 'tougher' to turn. so if the clutch is a little worn, that extra resistance would make it harder for the clutch to clamp = slippage.
-
i've been considering this myself. : pros possible performance/responsiveness gain possible flames (you know you want em!) slightly tougher sound FREE!! - sure we would all like to swap to a nice hi-flow metallic cat, but who wants to pay for one? cons possibly more damaging to the environment - although i doubt the people that site this as a reason not to 'punch your cat' are out lobbying to all motorsport leagues to put cats on their race cars, or trading in their high perfomance cars for electrics... possibility of a fine - heaps of the mods people carry out on this forum are potentially fine-able, though this is definitely not a light issue. in the end its up to you, i'm sure we all occasionally breach the laws (speeding etc) by accident which is also a risk we take. plus now i think they can impound your car (in many parts of QLD anyway) which could make 'swapping to a proper cat for an emissions test' difficult?? like someone said, we aint yo' mumma. and we aint paying your fines so the choice, as always, is yours!
-
yeah keep that for sure!! mine was in between my cat and dump pipe (inside the mounts where the gasket 'should' be) - which i thought was stupid for sealing, so i unbolted it from the body of the car and then reattached it on the outside of the mounts (almost was in tears trying to force it to stay behind the mounts while it was still bolted to the body - but it was piss easy after i unbolted it and then reattached it to the body) fits perfectly on the outside of the mounts.

260kw is pretty sweet, but i want to see more from this package i f*cken love the black plenum too - i'm assuming you bought it like that? the lack of piping is very nice, though i want to see you tidy that engine bay up a bit more
