  1. Cheers Cubes for clarifying.
  2. Am I right to say that RB26DETT uses Titania O2 sensors and RB25DET use Zirconia? The Ford EL O2 sensor that seems to fit with some wire crimping is a Zirconia type. ACA ROX207 which is similar with NTK OZA395-E2 but without the plug. Or have I gone completely nuts?
  3. Did the mod last night and went for a spin, man oh man... a lot more urgency from 2500-4500rpm. Love the sound of boost at this level too! Won't even bother wiring a switch in as there seems to be enough people on the forums that have done this mod and not have had any problems with the solenoid at a constant 8/9psi. Can't decide if it's still worth getting a Turbotech boost controller and hooking up a boost gauge though if i'm not going to bother with modding the turbo anytime soon. edit: got the tt boost controller, want to run 9psi all the time.
  4. Fark.... that looks nice. Will be getting that or the Saber smoke one for $20 more. decisions decisions. Does the Apexi one come in PSI?
  5. I'm glad i read this thread, was about to buy the Option Tuning boost gauge from ebay. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but do i need some sort of holder to attach the Apexi gauge to my pillar or dash? Or does it come with a bracket? What's the postage time from Nengun for one of these?
  6. I drive slower but the cargo net thing might be better, must go have a look.
  7. double post
  8. Would like to change my O2 sensor this weekend on the Stagea and I can't find anywhere that sell oxy sockets (Repco, Super Cheap, Sprint). Anyone out there in Adelaide with one that I could borrow? Never don it before but it looks easy enough, would take up about 15mins of your time (fingers crossed!)
  9. Well I'm having an arse of a time finding a oxy socket in Adelaide, tried Repco, Sprint, Super Cheap all with no success. Is it hard to remove with an adjustable wrench? Car is at home, and I can't remember!
  10. From what I gather, the RB25DET Neo engines use the NGK/NTK Part#OZA395-E2 oxy sensor (approx $78+gst). Don't even have to replace plugs, this babies come ready to plug and play. I'm trying to source an oxy socket (with difficulty) to replace my S2 Stagea O2 sensor this weekend. If I can't find a socket I'll have to try a wrench/spanner/teeth to get the old one out. EDIT: Unfortunately I told a lie, tried it myself and the plug definitely does not fit the RB25DET Neo, sorry. Might have to cut and crimp wires.
  11. I'm thinking of getting one of those Turbotech boost controllers, do I still need to do this mod? Was hoping for constant 9-10psi. edit: ok, the answer would be no i don't. Anyone with experience with this boost controller? Is it a "legal" mod cops/insurance) Or should I just stick with the solenoid mod considering I'm not going to mod the turbo anytime soon.
  12. 2000 model, yes it does
  13. I'd like to add that the best thing for me (S2 2000 RS4) was that the boss wifey had no idea we were getting such a quick/fun car when I finally folded and agreed to buy a wagon for the fam. Now everytime I accelerate a bit quicker then usual my 2 yr old shouts "BOOOOOST!!!"
  14. Just spoke to a guy at Petroject and although they don't have a listing for RB25DET Neo engines, his recommendation when I told him that the EL Falcon O2 sensor would fit was that the NTK OZA395-E2 part would be alright. Can anyone confirm this?
  15. Jeez... that must be so freakin frustrating to have paid the $$ for it and not getting to reap the rewards. I think I would go nuts.
  16. Would love to know this as well. Would rather pay a little more and not have to crimp the wires if possible.
  17. I see, thought it was one of those $100 tools which you use once every 2-3 years! Will check the local Repco and get a O2 sensor from them too. One size fits all?
  18. Is it just a matter of undoing the old sensor? Like a spark plug?
  19. thanks for the tips! will give it a go.
  20. Is there a discription of how to do his? Are the 33 O2 sensors the same for the series 2 as well?
  21. Stock S2. At the moment, about AU$1.30-$1.35 for 98 ron fuel in Adelaide.
  22. Very interested on seeing how this goes with consumption. Keep us up to date. My only worry is that the boost will come on too early while cruising on the highway (110kms @ 2500rpm) which might be detrimental to the solenoid or something else maybe? Why else would they have done a 2 stage boost as stock?
  23. Pretty much exactly the same as you. Do you have many mods on the car? I've also found different fuels (98ron Shell, BP, Mobil - in that order) give different mileage too.
  24. lol, maybe i shouldn't, but it's worth a try anyways. I don't mind getting my hands dirty and learning bit by bit. Really appreciate the info, thanks for that. I'll have a go this weekend.
  25. Thanks, after reading that i'm thinking it's not really that simple 1. Where's the exhaust manifold? Or Thermostat? 2. Where are the Bleeder Nips? 3. What's a Drain Tap? 4. Where's the Radiator Hose? Sorry!
