Mr GTR-32 replied to KR4-GTR's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yeah sorry i agree with gotRICE? that shouldnt be a problem for your car ive had the same or worse in my R32 GTR and never had a problem running 350rwkw, so really unless you have the money to spend then yeah otherwise clean it and use it its fine. -

Gearbox & Clutch
Mr GTR-32 replied to 265kw at the wheels holmes's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Do it right once either a OS Giken twin plate which will hold 400rwkw as this is what my cousin runs and has that power and no probs yet. Or i guess a triple plate but i have heard these break gearboxes as they dont have a sprung centre but not 100% sure about this. Jim berry clutches seem good but im a brand man and just like to trust good quality Japanese products. -
Gtr Pod Filters - Hks Or Apexi - Whats Your Preference!?
Mr GTR-32 replied to KR4-GTR's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I run the Apexi pods they look awesome & dress the engine bay up. I have been using these for 3 years now and they are excellent as stated above they do filter very well and give good responce. As the baron said you can wash them and they dont deteriorate like the foam type filters and especially that oil spray they recommend, yeah great if you want to stuff you air flow sensor up and cause all sorts of problems. If your really serious run a custom cold air feed to the pods and i guarantee you will notice an incredible amount of responce and will have the peace of mind that all that rammed air is being filtered properly and not been sucked into your expensive engine. Cheers, Dave. -
I agree with Moodles had the same problem gapping down to lower than .7 but still missfired ran new earths to the ignitor still did it, finally changed ignitor for a good second hand jobbie and PRESTO problem fixed. I even changed 4yr old OEM Nissan coils to splitfires just because i couldnt diagnose the problem. This what happened to me but try what G.T has said that may be solution here for you i hope. D.M

When Parked Neutral Or In Gear ?
Mr GTR-32 replied to cm712's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I live down a steep hill and park my cars on the street, i always parked with 1st gear in and it has saved me many times. I once went to drive to work one morning and obviously didnt pull the handbrake up tight enough jumped in pushed the clutch in and the car started to roll down, HOLY COW 1st gear managed to hold 1.5 ton of car all night from rolling down the hill into one of my neighbours lounge room. For me now its habit living down a steep hill for the last 20 years and many times this has been the case where the gear saves a handbrake in need of tensioning etc etc. -

Mr GTR-32 replied to white180sx's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain

I dont think they are that well known compared to others but i always shop around and they always where a little cheaper. Dont know now with the dollar and all but try they have good service and turn around is 1 week from Japan direct. Hope this helps. Dave. -
Gearbox & Clutch
Mr GTR-32 replied to 265kw at the wheels holmes's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
My cousin has a 400rwkw R33GTST with standard box!!!. Has been driving it with this powerfor 4 years now, eastern creek plenty of times countless amounts of insane burnouts, hard driving and still holding fine, they are a tough box especially behind a rear wheel drive car. As always if you are brutal and slam gears in like your Fangio on a mission all the time anything will break eventually. Really i wouldnt worry that much dont fix it till it breaks, then add a gearset but i think you will find it will take more punishment than you think. My 2 cents worth. Dave. -
Gtr Twin Plate Clutches
Mr GTR-32 replied to SIR-032's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I have the OS TS2CD twin plate an absolutely love it, easy to drive good in traffic not to heavy that is, good bite and enough play so that you dont feel like you have a brass button in or out oh my god i hated those. Great for launches for those that know how to do it properly without leaving your driveline on the floor behind you and believe me some drivers are brutal. I will definately keep this or replace unless i chase more power and its out of its limit. Os Giken make quality parts and i like to know that i have good parts in my car you pay for what you get. -
Im with Moodles then if its good enough for Mines, autech and Nismo to sell a product it must be ok, ive run this for 1.5yrs now dont seem to have any dramas on a new fresh engine since, my oil still looks the same as always even before i had it, the oil separator smells of oil only when i remove it for regular maintenence checks, nothing unusual of the colour just good old synthetic oil so i guess a different option for a different purpose but does not mean is so inferior due to its different design usage. If any one can give good theoretical evidence against it please have a say as so far there is nothing to state otherwise.
-
Could someone be able to please give some factual clarification as per the post by Moodles earlier in the thread, is using the oil/air separator a bad idea, i dont quite understand sorry doesnt it separate the oil so to drain it back to the sump.? If that is being produced from the engine does it change in form somehow to warrant it contaminated once it is separated and draining back down to the sump. I run this item and was told it was ok, but if somehow i have been miss guided i would like to know so that i will have to change the set up for the better option as stated by the Baron earlier. Cheers, Dave.

To bad about the air con in my R32 gtr i purchased one of the trust 149mm tube and fin intercoolers installed it mysel, had to slightly push the steel shroud that protects the fan in a little but its all still there and works well considering a small fridge is in front of it goes to show how well the air flow passes through these top quality cores.

I had the same problem as yourself on the dyno my R32 GTR missfired from 3k to 4000 rpm badly. I replaced my stock rb26 coils with the split fires and it was better, still we didnt know why, so then gapped the plugs down to .6mm was slightly better again bacause of small gappin, but still could not dyno car properly bacause of miss fire. So after all this stuffing around i when out and bought 3mm cable and made extra custom earths for ignitor, engine , alloy rad, and notice a big improvement and the problem solver was changing the IGNITOR itself i got a good second hand one and by luck it worked fine then presto, the miss fire problems went and i was able to bump up the plug gapping up to .8mm and made more power cleaner and isues gone. I think your ignitor could still be the problem if its second hand remember they are 15yr plus old now so finding a good cond old one is hard. Cheers, Dave.

Im interested to purchase for my R32 GTR but would like confirmation that as per what beer baron has said are these now able to give more or less camber for really lowered cars or not etc etc. Will place my deposit as soon as John gives thumbs up for the new arms modified as per previous post by the Baron. Cheers, Dave.

Yeah i know but at that price there is some real competition as of late, good examples for similar pricing i guess it depends on how bad you want her gone i guess.
