I don't think the area matters any more these days. Before you had the good and bad areas. Seems like these mofo's are everywhere.

oh shit another one. I think just yesterday or the day before a Stag was stolen. Holly crap. Usual questions arise though in regards to parking, alarms and insurance. Hope that you get it back in one piece mate. Looks like a very neat R. Will be keeping my eye out for this up north way.

Glad to hear that he got it back in quickly, otherwise it might have been destined for the chop shop. I know the typical question but does the car have an alarm/immobiliser? Did the new owner have insurance?

If you are going to have to replace the cams than I guess it will be worthwhile looking into some aftermarket ones but for just an upgrade for upgrade's sake is not worth it

Depends on what you are chasing as to what you can/should get. If you are after mega power than an injector upgrade would/should be on the cards. Are you going onto e85 fuel? Bigger turbos?

You will most likely feel a improve in responsiveness of the car. The exhaust note might be slightly different. Are you going to be increasing the boost? Assuming that you have a standard setup as is. IE just exhaust, intercooler and a few basic mods???

I would suggest you take it to a workshop that specializes in imports mate. They would be able to tell you what is happening within a few minutes as they have prob seen this sort of thing before. No point in replacing something that prob doesn't need to be replaced.

That was my mates 34. Pretty sure he sold that thing a while back. Honestly mate, there are a lot of headaches when doing a manual conversion. The list will only grow bigger lol. Do yourself a favor and sell your current car (like most people have said) and get a 34 manual from factory. That way you will be saving a whole lot of $$$

Full proper respray will take most of that 8K budget. IMHO leave it the colour it is now and just make sure you do some tasteful mods to it

IMHO any cooler is better then no cooler, going by that theory, I have used a cheap china copy oil cooler kit on my car for a while now without any problems. Car has done a number of track days and still going strong. Very efficient cooler. My cooler cost me $200 with the re-locator kit. (pays to shop sometimes). So all depends on your budget

Yeah if I were you then change the tyres and take it to a cop shop. See if the original defect can be cleared.

Welcome to my world mate. WTF major defect for having tyres that are on the wear indicator marks? How badly worn out are they? Recently hit the wear indicator or has it been on that for a while? I have seen pieces of junk blowing out more than enough smoke and they never seem to get pinged for that. I still can't believe that you got a major defect - ie full inspection. Just a money making scheme, I think.

this is seriously messed up....i would have thought that the cops would have been on this car like flies on sh... So if I drive 2 blocks down the road, they are quick to pull me over. But some muppet steals a skyline and thrashes it around the whole of f**king adelaide and the cops can't get them......ridiculous

Pods are not illegal in SA. However if it is not secured by a bracket then it can be picked on by a officer in blue.
