It was off.... i went, and it was closed. called the number, and an answer message said it was cancelled due to crap weather..!! Glad i went to Initial Drift first tho, that was ok, rain made it a little unpredictable though. Aaaaaanyway, had a beer in bar near, then on to home, stopped at restruant for food. all-in-all, not a bad day considering damn weather. Oh, and while there, i stopped someones dish-rag dog gettin squished on the aproach road, only to see it gettting some grief from a few Magpies in the grounds.... Pffttt to the weather.

Is It Still Worth Buying A 32gtr

Ok, I have to ask this... What is this "plastic restrictor"?, am curious... I guess mine dont have it now, but i would love to see it in its place, and what it looked like. Aaaaaaany way, Drive a GT-R, why accept second best! Hehehe! -
Mmmmm, Friday WSID, and sat initialdrift Oran park..... could be a top week-end.
-
GMG (Gun Metal Grey)...class colour man. I am biased tho, I would not have any other colour. Under street lights its sooooooooooooo coooooooool. GT-R... there's no substitute.!
-
Mate, THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTE. GT-R.... YOUknowit makes sense......... you'll always think at the back of your mind... IF ONLY I had got a GT-R. KW's are one thing, being able to use them is another. GT-R, designed to be driven.

I'm Having Trouble Changing Brake Pads
Richieb replied to lingeringsoul's topic in General Automotive Discussion
If they like GTR ones of mine, I took one old pad out, and got a gap between the pad on the other side, Got me a big flat blade, and wedged it in the gap between pad and piston.. not rotor, and eased the pistons back, making sure i didn't catch any of the rubber protective boots. I took them to level with the caliper, and that was it, enough room. Two tips. 1, Do not lever at too great an angle, just ease them in. 2, Make sure the reservoir tank does not overflow 3, If you are applying a hell of a lot of levering, you may bend things, revise your method. 10 minute task finished, and no bent rotor. -
Do Foam Air Filters Kill Your Engine?
Richieb replied to GR33 vous's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hmmmm..! I was/am running 2x HKS's, they seem ok to me(the Green multi-layer ones). Dyno said they were good, but thats all I can vouch for to be honest... oh, and they fit neatly under the hood too. Anyway, they are for sale, as now got Z32's under hood. Anyone got good, honest opinion on what to replace them with? Sorry to Hi-jack this thread, but it is covering same subject. -
Hmmmm... I had this one in Uk yrs ago.. before it was swamped.. There was no reg against filling the bucket from the outside tap, so... bucket under tap, hose to Hi-press cleaner from inside bucket.... So, there was no hose directly connected to mains water supply. Man can them things empty a bucket quickly.... so turn tap on, and there it was, no probs, and using Hi-press cleaner..!! Clean car..!!

Is It Still Worth Buying A 32gtr
Richieb replied to Zas)-('s topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Well, in my opinion, having owned many performance cars, I have to say, for the year.... Man, I love it, way ahead of it's time as a standard road car, but well ahead in the 90's. I am prepared to do another complete, no expenses spared, rebuild when she needs it... but then again, to me, it is quite a bullet-proof motor anyway. I guess there is a large quantity of luck involved, but shop carefully, OR!!.. buy cheap, and put the money in as and when you want.... one day, "The Duckling will be a Swan..!!" I suppose you have to be a bit of a fireside mechanic too, but enjoy getting to know it intimately..!, Not a vehicle for the average driver, evaluate what you want to be. Want an Icon, then there is a price... can you afford it.?? You can keep the 34, 'tis merely a attempt at re-kindling the fire of the past. Its like they say.. yep, you can buy, but it'll never, ever be a R32 GT-R, no matter how much money and time, and mods you throw at it...! If you want one, then you gotta have one, or you'll always have these words in your memory... "MAYBE IF...." I suppose its why there is a devout following, as indicated by the likes of this site. I think we are all very proud of our cars, and like the company of like-minded people. "If only I'd bought that GT-R, then maybe............, IF ONLY..." Remember one thing... What car do all the look-a-likes compare with?? -
Bl@@dy hell, no half measure then..!! My advice... sell the car, you wont be tempted, and in 3 yrs you will probably see a bargain for when you eventually get licence back. Sorry to hear it, but probably saving your life is a good way of viewing it..! Ya did the crime, now do the time..!!

UK had a XR4, and a Cosworth & 4x4 version too. All based around the wobbly Sierra chassis...!!

I would make one, but unlees you accept Feroza's then I will be on the next one..!!

Drama Ben Glover A Member Of Sau Is Trying To Rip Me Off
Richieb replied to Rorge's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Just trying to be balanced a bit here. It is difficult to condemn anyone without knowing both sides though. Devils advocate I think is the word. I dont know either party here, but am not saying there is a right or wrong. You have a case, which really needs an answer, let's see what develops...?!? I guess i'd be a bit cheesed orrrf after 2 months though!! -
It'd have to be one hell of a fan to develop pressure good enough to notice..!!, imagine the power it would need??

Be sure there is not a genuine reason before you let the dogs loose though, don't give someone a kicking, and then regret it..! -

Personal opinion time here. Mines number 1019 of the production line, and matching engine too. It goes like the stink, and having had many cars, this has to be one of the best I've had. You have to remeber that this car is the best of the Skyline breed, and is almost immortalised. It really depends on its history to be honest, but most of them have been well looked after, as they were not cheap to buy in the first place. Up to you, try one, and then make your call, but I dont think that Km's are that important, it's is it in good condition. I bought one car, and in 11 months, I had driven 87,000miles on it(did a lot of travelling that year). I sold it for near new price as well..! People for some reason have this thing about how far it's actually travelled for some reason, but I am not phased by it at all. I have project "Dog", which is my abuse-mobile, it has done over 300,000kms now, and I can trust it completely. Another car I tried out was a turbo diesel, I stopped at my house one evening, and it was "Foaming at the mouth... returned veeery quickly, and it was 'Disposed of' to some unsuspecting distance counter at only 9000 miles, and 3 months old too.... they bought more than they bargained for with that one..!! BTW, I am a Pom, living a better life in Oz(best place), so miles was the count there. So, to say that mine is almost 20 years young, and not worth it, try buying one, and then look at the prices of newer ones... and re-sale price.. for example, I neeeearly bought a 97 'line for $17k, but would have lost out, 'cos the actual value is $9k... 10 years old. THEN try to buy a decent!! Godzilla 8 years older..., and then cash it back-in....watch your money vanish... Its like an old Ferrari and a new corsa...., its what you really want to drive. It's not the size of the journey, the important thing is "Did you enjoy it". I've had new cars, and old, and my personal experience is older ones(within reason of course) have been more reliable. Blah-Blah-Blah-Blah..... Just my opinion, but get a drive in a 89 Godzilla, and then discover driving experience to a new level. -

If this is the case,I would try 'prodding' the commonwealth bank, they should have some of his details on record, and askthem what course of action to take here-on. OR, contact the Police, askthem what the next step is. My 2cents. -
Soz Guys, didn't make it. Car still being completed, should be Ok by Weds. I COULD have made one in the "Super" Feroza 4Wd Dung-beetle, but you guys would have been hanging around for me. S'pose I would have "Saught" permission to tag-along if the weather had been more... shall we say... Nice. Hope everyone is havin a blast all the same... I WANNA go to next one for sure though... Dung-beetle or otherwise. Put me on list of "Ins" for next one. BTW, what happened to the Thursday eve meet etc in truck-stop, .. does this happen still?

Need To Borrow Standard R32 Gtr Wheels - Sydney Northside
Richieb replied to Beer Baron's topic in New South Wales
I would help if I could, but not got Std am afraid. -
Best to stay at the 5v max to be honest, but the power figure is debateable, the correlation between MAF and actual power is not quite as clear cut, a lot depends on other things, although it is a start figure I guess. I have seen 270Kw at full Maf rating, and mine, which is far more Kw, and still std Mafs, although they do now restrict any advances in KW o/p. Many other variables to consider as well I guess. $$$'s is a good idea to put to one-side for the inevitable...!!, its a Skyline thing.

Timing belt can be done with a little care. I changed mine with some good advice before-hand of course. Take your time, get it right, get it checked if possible too. I changed all seals, pulleys and belt... yep, I took best part of 4 hrs to do it, but now I have done it, I'd do it again. I have to say thet it was a needs must job though. I noticed an oil leak, opened the cover, found a piece the size of my thumb-nail actually missing. Actually suprised a few people with it to be honest, they could not believe I was still running the car... ahhhh..!, ignorant bliss!! I do suppose it is an advantage when I have done many other belts on cars before I suppose, and yeap, I've had 'em snap before as well. ...... they call me Mr good-luck now though, we reakon we were power-tuning while this belt was shot..! Sooooo close to a $10k rebuild, and I never even knew it..! D'oh!
-
They tend to mess-up the tuning a little, but then again depends on the state of tune you are running. Me, I dont use them.

R32 Gtr Vs S15 Jap Spec Vs R34 Gtt
Richieb replied to QRI05E's topic in General Automotive Discussion
RB26DETT... 4WD....GRIP, DRIVE, ENJOY. The Godzilla is a legend that lives in the here and now... Designed to perform, and IT DOES. There is no substitute. Can be expensive, but then again so can the other offerings, buy a good one, and it'll reward you many-fold. IF YOU CAN, get an early one with the real pedigree, it was designed to be devastatingly good, and it lives up to it. Starting from 23-24K upwards, but you get what you pay for, or be a good DIY man. Personally, there is no greater satisfaction than knowing you own part of a legend, and still beats "modern" styling, no gimmiky bits, no cheap look alike parts or anything. BNR32, un-rivalled, never equalled..!!
