  1. Only engine mods my car has is full exhaust, pod, and intercooler. Ok just had full intercooler piping fitted with hybrid cooler. Also had split dump pipe fitted at the same time. I don't have any aftermarket boost control, still running the stock setup. It holds 0.5bar below 4500rpm like it always did. But now instead of jumping to 0.6 bar once the revs are over 4500rpm like it used to, it's just rising up to 1 bar and possibly beyond, but i back off throttle once it reaches 1 bar because i don't want to damage the engine or turbo. This is what i suspect is causing it... The line from the wastegate actuator is now running right accross the engine bay and tapped into a line coming from the stock plenum. I am going to get a nipple welded into the intercooler piping to tap this line into tomorrow hopefully, instead of up at plenum. Should i tap it into the intercooler pipe from turbo? or into the pipe from cooler to plenum? Do you think this could be the cause of the over boosting? At first i thought it could be the wastegate flap being restricted or hitting the dump flange, but after sussing out the new vacuum line config, i'm thinking it's that. here are some photos of previous setup and photos after cooler install and lines changed [pics] cheers, chris.

  4. otto good stuff changed my hoses today, that pretty much rules out the hose leak possibility. went for a drive tonight, in 3rd and 4th once the stock second stage boost kicks in (over 5000rpm), boost still jumps from 0.5bar to 1bar, hmm this is not gonna be fun fixing this. i only want to run about 0.75bar or 10-11psi. not running any form of aftermarket boost control. in 2nd gear reached 0.75 bar tops, only in 3rd and 4th it rises to 1bar.

Used to have white volk te37s on it though, maybe this is a completely different car i don't know.
  6. my car is doing this now... full exhaust (split dump) with screamer...just had intercooler fitted, dump pipe and bov fitted couple days ago.. these are the only engine mods, still running stock boost setup. ok we all know stock boost has 2 stages, mine is sitting at 0.5bar before 5000rpm, then just jumps up and keeps increasing, has hit 1bar over 5000rpm, but i backed off, im guessing it will just keep rising. im guessing possibilities are hole in vacuum hoses, or wastegate flap isn't opening enough maybe its hitting dump flange, but i can sure hear it opens. how far does the wastegate flap open on a stock turbo? going to change some of the vacuum hose tomorrow since it could be dodgy.

  9. yeah i'd say about 50 r32 gt-r's. probably 40 r33 gt-r's, i often see ones i havent seen before, stock ones too, unlike most 32's and 34's that i see with mods at least exhaust. i know of at least 5 r34 gt-r's, there's got to be over 10 of them.

  11. rev210, how much was it ? did it reduce fuel economy, since the car loses momentum more easily? or is that really only noticable when you are coasting, foot off accelerator but in gear. chris.
  12. yeah i'd just go a GT2540 instead of 2530/2535 if price isn't much more. only about 10ps output difference though between 2535 and 2540. 2530 - 320ps 2535 - 340ps 2540 - 350ps the only internal gated 3037 i believe is the 3037 Pro S which is much more expensive than gt25**, output of 480ps which is way more than you want dave. im also interested in possibly upgrading my turbo in near future. just something that will be reliable pushing 300rwhp, 2530 would be perfect for that, but might be wasting money there, im sure there are better value for money options.

  15. hey erik my mates got a white one, jason u might know him don't think he wants to sell it though... you'd have to import one from japan, i doubt there are many others in aus.
  16. all u need to fix is the broken diode and it'll work again. i had 2 r33's imported and both had same problem, the spoiler light didn't work when arrived in aus. both had diode prob fixed and worked perfectly. cost like $60 or something, compliance company did it for me, sure any auto leccy can do it. don't need to go spend $400
  17. hey mate im sorry i havent been able to reply sooner, it was 3" but i sold it. your best bet is to PM BATMBL he can get new 3" hiflow catco ones now for $180 i think, comes with flanges too so bolts right up. i think he's in melb too so u wouldn't have to worry about shipping.

  20. i just bought a used stainless split screamer (atmo venting) dump, has seperating partition between the wastegate and exhaust outlets. wastegate pipe is 1.5" and exhaust pipe is 2.5", is that how big it should be?? i havent had it fitted yet, will soon. stock dump is only 2.5" also but that has wastegate gas merged into it.

  22. 3" hiflow cat done 5000km - purchased for $300 - has flanges for bolt on suit RB20/25DET - $150 RB25DET stock dump and front pipe - offer located in Perth, W.A.
  23. I'm after a bolt-on front pipe for an RB25DET (at least 3") dump to cat, don't want a dump and front pipe in-one, or a dump pipe either. dont mind whether it's mild or stainless. i'm in perth, pm me
  24. im after the plastic dash tray part that sits under the steering wheel etc need it with all plastic tabs still connected, that hold it on to the rest of the dash and not snapped off like mine have been gotta be so careful removing it. pic attached to show which part.
