Race Track Handling Help
Chris-06R replied to Chris-06R's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I dunno about that roy, I'm fairly sure I was close to the cars limit - there might be a second or two from someone who really knows what they are doing but I highly doubt there a 1:13s in my car the way it is... I'm sure Tyres could definately improve it by more than a couple of seconds, and apart from the FMIC you had my mods are the same, so you've given me something to aim for Still a 1:13.4 is super quick in an almost stock gts-t -
Race Track Handling Help
Chris-06R replied to Chris-06R's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thanks Duncan - Yeah, don't have figures on toe at the moment - I have the equipment here to do it just haven't had a chance yet. I thought the tyres (apart from the unusual wear) held up really well, though a second set of wheels and some race rubber is definately a priority for next time. Anyone have Ideas what a good time in an (almost) stock 32 Gts-t would be around wakie? I got down to a 1:17.9 hand timed with 2 people in the car. Btw - I had a look at your car at the SAU Show n shine and it was a very impressive machine - nicely presented too -
Hi guys, I have a question for those that have track experience and know what they are talking about - Recently I had a track day at wakefield park in my 32 Gts-t and by the end of the day (after pushing the car hard for 60 odd laps) the inside of the front right tyre (i.e. the inside tyre for most corners) had become very worn. I was wondering if anyone could explain this? The car has stock suspension and when pushed hard into a corner understeered a fair bit (normal I suppose - probably poor driving on my behalf at times ) but I have a theory that the tyre could have worn as a result of being dragged across the road during these moments (with very little weight on it obviously). What would be the possible handling upgrades to combat the problem? (I know of SK's handling upgrade package but thats a few $$$ i will need to consider for a while). Thanks

Would you be able to post up any more info (material, size etc) and any pics? Willing to sell?

Hey guys, I'll be away for this week so I won't be able to take this any further in that time... But when I get back I will find out if we can get the brackets seperately
-
Hmm, not 100% sure if the mounting bracket will suit moving from the 296mm size to the 325mm size but I will find out- I would say it would be ok as its only 16mm different to the 280mm rotors its made for and I believe the mounting points are slightly different. If I could organise a group buy on these would there be anyone else interested?
-
Yeah, thats a very nice car but you might hafta wipe my drool off it :laughing-smiley-014: Looked at it at Fuji and its was teh secks

80+ views and no replies? No one interested?

Well, I did only post up the skylines 'cause I thought thats what everyone wants to see , but here's a bit more variety... As BenM said, there are a few V8s getting around now, and a fair few more dollars as well - its great to see all the cars covered in sponsers and looking very professional compared to how it was even a year ago. Also, what was the story with that 300ZX - The commentators said the driver had a recurring injury come back and had to pull out giving the japanese D1 driver the drive - but I didn't see the car come out again for the rest of saturday . That car (on its few passes i did see/hear) is possibly the greatest sounding car ever... (let the debates begin )

Hi all, I've recently been looking at upgrading my brakes to something that will cope on track days and have come across what will be a good deal if we can get a few people on board... What it is - A front brake upgrade kit that allows to convert your R32/33 Gts-t/Z32 300ZX/S14 5-stud/S15 front rotors from the standard sized rotors to the GTR spec 325mm rotors. What's included - A pair of slotted DBA4000 rotors (325mm), a caliper mounting bracket which allows the brake caliper to be moved to fit the new rotor size, and a set of (front) pads (either Ferodo Formulas (2000s), or 2500's - your choice). Who from/How much - I have organised this through Brake Lining and Parts at Condell Park, Sydney. Over the counter price is $990 for the kit with the ferodo 2500 pads or $770 with the ferodo ultimate pads. If I can get 10 people (including myself) interested we can have this price reduced by at least 10% (exact price to be confirmed when I see how much interest there is). Other Details - This kit will fit S14 (5 stud) and S15 silvias/200sx as well as Z32 300zx's. I have been told the kit can also be fitted to 33's but I believe the standard rotor size is 300mm and therefore the increase is only fairly small. It may also fit any other models which use the same specification original rotors/pads as those listed. Pics - Original (280mm) rotor on top of upgraded (325mm) rotor Caliper mounting bracket New Pad size Vs Old pad size If you are interested Please leave a message in this thread so that we can decide whether this group buy will be worthwhile. I will endeavour to finalise exact pricing over the next few days. Thanks

Sorry for hijacking your thread PAC, but I thought instead of making another thread I would add to yours (nice pics from the pits - I didn't get a chance to get down there but it looks like I should have) Skylines Represent... If anyone would like High res. photos from the Day please P.M. me and we can work something out...

I was hoping to get down to watch/photograph this but I ended up getting roped into work so won't be able to make it. I was down there 2 weeks ago tho and this was the scene - Hope its not quite so bleak for you guys... Yep, thats frost - Pfft as if you need an intercooler Oh yeah, and the puddles were frozen over so bring your ice skates
-
do you have any pics or extra info? BTW, I remembered another feature I think might be part of the Anniversary Specials - ABS brakes. My car has them - does everyone else who has/had one have them?
-
Thanks, yeah mine came with the gold badges and key... Also I did notice that chrome lip on top of the front bar but I didn't realise that was unique to the anniversary models - ah the things you learn And yep, my horn button blends in I think its probably related to the airbag - which would have to be an unusual system compared to most cars considering that horn button is right in the middle like that, and not made up of the whole centre/airbag assembly like on most cars with airbags. I think the projector lights are just the same lights used on GTRs and the late model GTS-t's (earlier GTS-t's didn't have that circular type projector lamp ?) - correct me if i'm wrong tho. P.S. I've seen your car in the photo threads elsewhere on here yidz - very hot. Oh, and Rekin you should get a pic of your car up too
-
Thanks for that... does anyone know if there is a generic type centre cap similar to this? I don't necessarily want those exact ones but I don't have centre caps at all, and I like the style of the Centre nut like on Race wheels. I can't imagine the Racing Hart ones will be too cheap, or a direct fit either

Wtb:plastic Hinge From Centre Console Lid (r32)
Chris-06R replied to Chris-06R's topic in Wanted to Buy
Bump - surely there's got to be someone with an old console sitting around that they pulled out of their car? -
Hi, I was actually going to start a thread in relation to the Anniversary models myself as I have recently bought one, but you've saved me the job My car is a Skyline GTS-t Type M 60th Anniversary, and since I've had it I've found a bit of information, but if anyone can help fill in the gaps it would be much appreciated... Anyway, Here is a few pages from the original sales brochure (it would be very hand if anyone can read low resolution japanese to fill out the details) The 60th anniversary version was built to celebrate Nissan's 60th Anniversary in 1993, as opposed to the R33 40th Anniversary version which was built to commemorate the Skyline's 40th Anniversary. As far as I can tell the following features came standard on the 60th Anniversary versions: - Fog/driving lights in front spoiler - GTR front and rear seats - Rear Spoiler with brake light - 'Super Fine Coating' - not sure what this was (some kind of paint treatment?) - more info. would be appreciated - Gold Badges - Special Key - Projector Headlights - Different steering wheel (?) with Airbag(?) (not sure on this one -but on the sun visor on my car it has a bunch of japanese with 'SRS Airbag' written in large letters in the middle of it - so if anyone can confirm this it would be great). - Different stereo/radio It would be interesting if someone could provide a figure for how many 60th Anniversary editions were made in Japan, and how many forum readers actually have one... Some more information from the forums... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=119405 And a couple of pics of my car (non standard wheels obviously...) I await more info on the R32 60th anniversary, and a write up on the R33 40th anniversary

Hi guys, I was wondering If anyone could let me know where I might be able to get a set of centre caps like these... I chatted with the bloke who owned the car (oz-delivered R32 GTR) at the SnS but I forgot to ask him... Thanks
-
Hey guys, Not a big item but the one on my car is broken and the rest of the centre console is fine. So if anyone has replaced their damaged console with a new one, and still has the hinge off the old one in working condition (plastic one off the top lid, not the main hinge) it'd be great if you could P.m. me Cheers
