  1. sorry to dig up this old post if you have no hicas, or if hicas is disabled somehow (no hicas fluid or lock bar) will the steering wheel still be off centre? Cheers
  2. r32 gunmetal coupes with r33 gtr rims! i think these look the best! cheers
  3. anyone? I can post a pic if that would help, but it was tough to get a good view without jacking the car up (its raining outside!) but i heard somewhere that skylines which were optioned from factory with hicas had r200 diffs (which mean i can swap in a shorter ratio lsd diff from a gtst).
  4. any weight difference between gtr and gts(t) doors?
  5. car has the proper MAF. this problem cropped up again yesterday, feels like a boost cut... but this car is n/a?
  6. you can achieve better weight distribution by putting a SR into a r32. the engine bay is designed for a inline 6 so the front axles sit further from the firewall (or the firewall sits further back from the front axles, whichever way you want to put it). so by using the sr20, you get the advantage of almost a mid engined car as most of the engine sits behind the front axle. yes the gtr is a 1400kg car, but only because of the heavy 4wd system and the iron block inline 6. drop a alloy block sr20 and ditching the 4wd system, you could get the weight right down. the sr20 has had a lot of development as well and big useable power can be obtained.
  7. cheers for the reply, was hoping to see if by the car specs someone could say whether it has a r180 type diff or r200 etc. just so i know what i can swap in. and also a recommendation as to what sort of ratio i should use. the engine is a 2.5L and will stay n/a for now, so a short ratio would be good to make the most of the lower power of a n/a engine.
  8. can anyone tell me what diff i have from just these details? 1991 coupe auto gts25 hicas its been converted to manual but i think it still has the auto diff as the gears are really tall...
  9. seat fits!! check it out
  10. so i can run the r33 series 2 rb25de ecu with a few pins switched? sounds like a plan!
  11. could be a multitude of technical problems or maybe you got used to the extra power
  12. did you have a boost gauge so you could tell you were actually running 10psi?
  13. there have been many sr20 skylines. specifically GTRs not too sure
  14. what condition is your engine in? and 500hp at the wheels or at the flywheel? how important is reliability? (dedicated race car?)
  15. didnt want to create a new thread so heres a new question will a r33 rb25de (with vct) ecu run the r34 rb25de? and then: what are the pinout differences between the r32 and r33 rb25de ecu's? cheers!
  16. thanks for the reply the engine I am running is the rb25de (non turbo) so the turbo ecu is probably not the best answer. the r34 power fc is also not a go because i am using the r32 loom which has a 2 row ecu plug instead of the r34 3 row ecu plug
  17. is the r34 neo vct variable? or on after 1000rpm and off again at 4700ish rpm?
  18. no i didnt know that, when i did some searching, there were mixed opinions about the vct type in r33s and r34s is there a definitive answer?
  19. not worth the cost for just the vct switching. can get a rpm switch for a few hundred. might go to emanage as i think that has a rpm switch output and is a lot cheaper than a link..
  20. thanks for the reply. seems like the spring rates will be wrong due to the weight differences between the gtr and gtst. looks like i'll have to get standard height aftermarket springs and some uprated shocks instead! Cheers
  21. anyone know? someone must have tried to use r32 gtr rear coilovers before in a r32 gts/gtst before
  22. r34 rb25de neo. was hoping to have an ecu solution, but i may have to use a rpm switch to control the vct after all
  23. thanks for the reply. does this ecu have vct? at the moment i am running a r32 rb25de ecu with no vct. if the c34 laurel ecu has vct then i will run a separate wire from the vct ecu pinout to the vct solenoid. cheers
  24. thanks everyone, still waiting for the seat to arrive!!!
  25. top feed injectors are good. are they low impedance or high impedance? Cheers
