Get a frontmount, a good CAI (with Pod), full turbo-back exhaust system, boost controller, a BOV and a good ECU or piggy-back ECU then you will hit the 200 kw mark.

Need Help, Finding Gt Badge!
Spunky Munky replied to Dan_AE86's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Go to www.justjap.com and order them through them... around $50 or sometthing -
I personally have a HKS SSQ BOV - it makes a very nice SSHHHTTTT sound... not too loud which is wankie pankie in my opinion... bu you do need a bit of a let off sound as it' a turbo... I have an apexi power flow pod, fmic and a hks ssq - all three work in harmony and you get a SSHHHETTTTTFFF tu tu tu sound which is capped off with a fluttering sound which is tough as ... I reckon this is style... so yeah, my hats off to the HKS SSQ - if you do go for this, get that latest model as the older ones tend to affect your air flow metre and can be troublesome. Cheers,

Buddy, I can understand how you feel mate. Since I bought my Skyline until now - it's been problem for me one after the other... I got like 3-4 defect notices, thousands nearly in speeding fines, fines etc... but at the end of the day, I wouldn't want it any other way... I love my Skyline... some time I feel it's like me on the road, me in presence, in soul and it's me on all fours... this is what you'll have think feel in your heart to even be bothered getting all the defect/epa notices cleared. What you have said - all of it are valid points... that's right, if they can't do you for anything serious - EPA is their final step... it's like they're trying to get you any way they can... I had a copper one time then basically reeled off on nearly everything he can think of to get me on the hook... it's just sickening... I mean... sure, be strict etc to minimise youth deaths but trying to "get the poor bastards" is something I think is way too extreme... The EPA guys will test everything... these guys know what they're on about... they will test your ECU as well - just go stock everything to guarantee a pass... not worth rocking up and then having to only go home and then return another day to cleaar this... There's really no way I can think of that you are 100% safe on the road... well, except for 1.... Keep your car looking stock as a rock... stock exhaust, no rice on the outside... then they will leave you alone... that's why the latest trend is for SLEEPERS... that's why you see guys on here asking for stock kits and wanting to go back stock so that no one looks at them much and the cops don't both them, but under the hood - it's a beast ... also, if you can afford it - get your car engineered... will cost thousands... and I'm not too sure how this works... but I'm sure if you go to a good mechanic - he'll point you to the right direction... good luck mate... chin up... get this resolved then make the car look stock and go back to stockies and you'll live to see another day....

Mate, nice car bro.... glad you're enjoying it... just 2 suggestions though... 1) get rid of the towbar as it looks out of place on a Sports car - it's Godzilla not a station wagon.... 2) dump the car down a bit as it looks a bit high... and oh, I must ask - the front bar doesn't look original genuine GT-R... is this right? However, no doubt it is a GT-R of course.

I think the fins are chipped or cracked in your turbo... if this goes, you have no choice but to replace it... damn, a mate had a similiar problem... it's more like a high pitch tone then anything else.

Well fellas, as the topic suggests... I've driven a few of my mates's R32's and have recent been driven around in a mate's R34 and for some reason - even though my mods and his mods are very similiar, e.g. BOV, FMIC, Blitz/Apexi Pod - how come only the R33's have the nice and aggresive suction and flutter sound as opposed to the R32 and R34 where close to no sound comes from the Pod? I don't understand, the engine set up e.g. is pretty much identical? Cheers, SM.

Apexi Panel Air Filter
Spunky Munky replied to pixel8r's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Couldn't have said it better. Apexi's pod filter are king of the pack... simple as that.... they last for ages... get the dry ones and they'll last you until you sell your car... so I wouldn't think of changing it. -
The Myth Surrounding High Octane Petrol!
Spunky Munky replied to Spunky Munky's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
On a practical sense fellas... I can actually feel the difference - I personally like Shell's V-Power... runs heaps better as opposed to something like 91 Octane petrol... so I guess it's worth the extra buck. Here's what the Pom's think of Shell's so-called "super fuel" V-Power... http://www.japmobiles.com/news/news_detail.asp?id=245 -
That looks hot... fibreglass looks ok... not too bad at all... how much am I up for, for all 4 guards?

Which Is The Loudest Pod Filter
Spunky Munky replied to R34TRK's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Cut the guy some slack fellas. lol But look, the fellas have a point... non-turbos will not get the suction and blow sound that turbos get... but you still get the flutter sound... well, not really flutter but a kinda off ppphhhhewwww sound.... I suggest an Apexi power induction sound. -
Hi mate, Sorry to hear that you got EPA(ed) - unfortunately, it happens when you drive a Skyline... Skylines amongst with the likes of WRX's and Evo's attract a lot of attention - and also is on the top hit-list by the cops.. the only "real" way of avoid any problems with the cops is to comply... this means, stock everything or modifications within the boundries... By the way, you haven't mentioned what the cop got you Epa(ed) for?? Look, you got two options... 1) comply and go stock everything... 2) borrow parts or put stock parts on - bring it to EPA, get them to clear the notice then put everything back on... driving a Skyline, you'll have to be prepared for this... this is unfortunate, I know - but you just gotta live with it unless you decide to, as I had mentioned above, go stock everything... the law is the law mate. Regards, Kevin

Apexi Panel Air Filter
Spunky Munky replied to pixel8r's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Apexi Air Filters (both standard and power intake pods) are amazing and very long-lasting... it would last 10 years or so... nearly never - only change it when it looks aged and all damaged... I would not change it until there's a need for it. Thanks mate. Regards, -
QT Mechanic - go to Springvale train station - just look the sides of the station on platform 1 and look for this mechanic - ask for James. Sorry I don't have phone number. Good luck.

Hi mate, firstly sorry to hear you accidentally damaged your frontbar... never mind mate, it can be fixed... perhaps post up some pictures so we can see the degree of damage and advice on how much it'll cost to get fixed and what will be involved... If it's cracked in half like you had briefly, the bar will have to be patched up, primed, prepped and repainted from scretch... if it is this severe, you should get a new front bar and get it painted... probably work out similiar... Post up pictures mate.... Regards, Kevin

I was thinking of going fibreglass for now due to cost... I know it's a quick fix... would it last 2-3 years... not expecting something top-notch... any advice? Anyone done this to their car - please post up pics?

Nice, but how the heck do your remove the dash in the first place?

Do you have any pictures of what a GTST would look like with GTR pumped/flared guards?? Does it look nice or shonky?
