It is interesting that post this question as I was in the same boat.... I do not own a GT-R but would have gladly bought one.... I own a modified R33 GST-T and have also driven my friends Evo many times... like everyone have commented, it is a light-wieght fast car that is Aus-spec... however, the look, the style and the character of the Skyline cannot be matched. I'd even think the GST-T is better in this catergory as the Evo Lancers .... well, that's it, they're a Lancer... they look like a round box... wouldn't like it at all... Tell us what you decide... Skyline all the way...

personally, I think the GTS-T is better... the S14 is ok, but the Skyline R33 is more powerful and no one can deny this... bias as I am, defnitely a Skyliner!!

Man, I wish I knew something that could help... I really don't know much... aftermarket ECU is Haltech... no power fc... Man, I guess I'll have to bring this to the shops... Thanks so much for your help mate.

I think you just need a new battery ... I know it sounds corny... but trust me, if the battery doesn't hold charge everything is a 'no-goer...' before you spend the bucks and take it to a mechanic... buy a good $70 battery and see how you go.

hahahah ... I know how it feels, I was the same... got my license then a couple of hours later smashed right into my Mum's $50K 4WD ... she was pulling here hair out... I'm still trying to pay her back for repairs to this date (like 7 years later) lol... so yeah, that's why P-platers often get shitty cars for their first cars... shit happens... can't be prevented.

I'm from the western suburbs (near highpoint shopping centre). You serious?? I got a front mount, BOV and now a Pod so if I get caught, they can defect me as if there's no tomorrow. So I have installed my Pod and said fark it... the BOV is illegal anyways so stuff it, I got the Pod on, sounds tough as... If you want Krimz, PM me and we can perhaps hook up and share our rides...

I reccommend Ray's engineering wheels... not sure what they're called as I never had one... but when my mate bought his... I compared his (with my hands) to another mate's set - and wow, so much lighter... if you're interested in weight reduction, this is a must.

If all fails, go on ebay - they are very quick...

Yeah, what others said is correct... I had the same issue, replaced the small motor and it's ok now. Good luck mate.

That's a bummer mate - with due respects; your car is worth around $8K or something? Fixing it could even nearly buy you a new one - I would sell it and get pay some more and get a new R32 or even a R33 or R34... sorry to see this happen, I can see how upset you would be... One question though, with your Mate's car - no mention of it's damages... how is he coping?

Cheers mate, I'll do that, I think... I think the battery isn't holding charge correctly... However, I read off another thread (that person had similiar problems to me) that it could also be the coilpacks... someone recommended that that person get Spitfire Coil Packs; he did and it's fixed the problem - what do you think? I'm by no way a mechanic, what do coilpacks do and where can I get some - how much would I expect to pay? Cheers,

Wow, must be the coilpacks then... I have exactly the same issues with my R33 GTS-T ... if you read my thread you will find out that I have nearly exactly the same issues... I think I'm running standard coilpacks and hence this issue.... What brand do you recommend and how much?

Hi mate - yeah, I got an after market ECU but not a SAFC (that I know of anyways)... I know what you thinking of telling me - get it tuned with the SAFC, right? Yeah, I thought of that but no I don't have one... thanks mate..

Yeah, thanks mate... I thought it was the battery too as the battery light jumps up just moments before it dies... happens infrequently but too damn often to pose a dangerous threat to safety. I might buy a new battery and see how that goes. With the BOV, I don' think it is this... as I have had this issue even with the stock BOV, the 2nd BOV and this new HKS BOV... there is no Boost leak as I have taken the car for a spin a few times, actually is more responsive. I've checked for any loose hoses, unplugged wires etc and all seems to work fine... don't know what the problem is... I will see what other suggestions people have and well, might have to bring it to the mechanic if all fails. Thanks for your help mate.

Yeah, that's correct mate... from nowhere, it just cuts sometimes... Although not too often, but way too frequent for comfort... like every 2-3 days, I'll be driving and it'll just stop - this can be very dangerous... I got a feeling it's the air meters.... I got a BOV and a POD and front mount too...

Nice yeah, but cannot compare to a R33 Nismo GT-R ... the Skyline tradition died after the R34...

Let's face it, the R34 was the last Skyline GT-R... anything else is just another 350-z look-alike... not a beast in my opinion.
