  1. Yes, I agree with you on this one. I just tested some CF bonnets and Al ones and you're right - not much of a huge difference. The truth is, most people choose to go vented CF bonnet for looks more than performance.
  2. I am after this piece - how much? Need ASAP. Thanks. Please PM me.
  3. Yeah, R33 look toughest...so why go back to a R32 when you want the front to look like a R33. Having said that - R32's do have their own tough look.
  4. Hey mate...yes all door trims are held in place with mainly clips - just a flathead screw driver to budge openly softly...however, there are some screws too...1 in the coin shelf just near where the door locks are (open up the plastic cover and you will see it underneath) and others lie where the window arches are...be patient and you will find them... Cheers
  5. I think besides the looks - poorly constructed Z Tune bonnets are known to cause issues - coilpacks getting wet, increased engine temperatures etc are things I have heard from some people.
  6. I agree - if it's a proper performance-enhancing device like the genuine Z-Tune one then why the heck not but all the cheap copies etc just make the car look so tacky!
  7. If you decide to strip it down - I will be after heaps of parts. Please let me know. Cheers K
  8. Thanks Ash - I appreciated that. I have heard that these tyres are more for the track and won't be long lasting for road use. Thanks for your answer.
  9. Ok fellas. A simple "no" would have been sufficient shhesshh...
  10. Don't tell me these are sprayed painted on too?? Surely guys there are racing tyre ranges.
  11. Ha ha ha ha...you guys serious??? The ones on my friend's car look like semi slick...I'm not just after the paint - I want the added performance too... But if it's just paint for show then you guys got me...I'm laughing at myself!!
  12. Hi fellas, Well it's time for me to get some new tires for my car. I saw a few Skylines and Evos driving around with "racing" looking tires - you know, the ones that have the tyre brand in bold white letters on the outside. Looks really tough and gives the race look plus I've heard they are sem-slick and provide good traction - can anyone help and are these street legal and if so - any real benefits or disadvantages AND where can I get some + how much more expensive are they compared to normal ones? The attached picture is not exactly them but gives you an idea of what I am after! Cheers
  13. Thanks guys...I guess vented CF bonnets are on the decline...I must agree - the trend nowadays is the clean and simple look - definitely my style too!
  14. Hey mate, sorry to hear of your ongoing issues with this dickhead... Here's the next step; go to see him and then go to the police station and get a police officer to witness for you a statement. Then, go back to the panel shop and say that you have spoken to Consumer Affairs and have also noted down the events leading to the need for the intervention of the authorities. He should comply. Let me know if you require any other help - BUT remember, do not give in...get the car fixed!!!
  15. Thanks guys!!! Very helpful information...
  16. Yes you are right - FYI - I rang CityLink and they said the same thing...they're going through some upgrading issues so some tolls are not charging...but they said if need be they will just extract the fees from my account so no sweat. Thanks fellas.
  17. You should not worry - you were doing the right thing...their technology should differentiate accordingly but even if it fails to - just spend 10 minutes wring them a letter to contest the fine and you will definitely be in the clear - wait 1 month or so and you should know...don't worry...
  18. Hi mate, I know how you feel. You wrote a whole essay on it so it just goes to show that you are, like you said, very gutted. It's not your fault, unfortunately there are 3 reasons why your car was given a bad paint job; 1) you seem to be a very nice and trusting kinda guy - unfortunately, nice guys get taken on rides as he might have thought that he could do a crap job on your car and get away with it, 2) unfortunately you had a car accident which occurred towards the end of the year - most businesses will either delay or rush their jobs so get all their work out of the way so this might be a reason why he's done a poor job, 3) you should have specifically told him exactly what you wanted and agreed on a rice at the very start for exactly what he's going to do; it sounds to me you went in with an open mind and had fully trusted him. What I suggest you do is call the QLD office of Fair Trading. Their contact details can be obtained from here: http://www.fairtrading.qld.gov.au and ask for some advice, then with that knowledge, I would then go back to the panel beater and say; "look mate, it is clear that the finished work is not of the standard you had guanrateed and I had expected. I know it's getting close to Christmas and everything so things are hectic for you, but I'd appreciate it if you can please fix it up. I am happy to wait a few more weeks towards the new yer." Be polite but firm. He owes you a duty of care and his reputation is based on his work so most likely he will agree to getting it fixed and by showing some sympathy towards him plus giving him enough time to fix this up - I am confident you will get a good response. However, if he does not comply. Tell him that you are very disappointed and dissatisfied with his work. Tell him that you have spoken to Consumer Affairs and that you understand he owes you a duty of care and the contract you entered into (meaning payment for a service performed) is based on a 'promise' that the work is of satisfactory standards - which is clearly not the case. Finally, tell him that you trust he will do what is right given the fact that you are willing to wait a few weeks - I think he'll soon realise for a few hundred dollars it's nor worth stuffing you around plus you are showing him understanding and have given him ample time to fix up this mess. Whatever you do...DO NOT threaten him, or ask him whether he can fix your car up - threats go nowhere - doesn't cost to be nice given that you are now holding the short straw; but being soft about this will also get you no where as you need to be firm knowing he owes you a duty of service. Good luck - PM me if you need further advice as I have lawyers amongst my friends which I can get free advice for you if this is required. Cheers SM
  19. Hi fellas, I have a work car with an E-Tag installed, but for some odd reason I went to 24 Kmart today in Campellfield and took the CityLink near Flemington Road and when I got onto the CityLink and passed the toll point it didn't beep and also didn't beep on the way back. It was roughly 11pm when I had traveled on the toll road but was wondering if it does not charge towards midnight or something? This is the first time I've traveled on it this late at night. What is your experience on this? Cheers. SM
  20. Can you post a picture? I will try to help you then.
  21. IF you can afford to; go TE37's or LMGT4s'
  22. I'm all for gloss black - go for the TE37 look!
  23. Hi mate, it's just stock looking...waiting on new TE37 rims so once that goes on will upload in R33 Pictures section. :-)
