  1. Mate, you said it nicely...they'll find something...let's face it...who has a 100% perfect car...not even a Granny driving a Toyota Camry can claim that...a mate of mine just got done for having a dirty engine bay...to me it looks just like my engine bay - no show car engine bay but it's ok...they claimed it looked dirty and was a fire hazard and he also got done for Tint and tyres being too thin...what the heck? Now he's carless for a couple of weeks and when you go do a Roadworthy...those mechanics will go through your car with a comb...because 1) they can make more cash out of you for extra things AND 2) because they want to impress VicRoads and comply with their licensing requirements etc... Seriously, some days, I can't be farrked driving my Skylines out of the garage...
  2. Yeah tell me about it, Graeme...it just seems every copper out there is defecting imports left-right-and-centre! I mean, I just got a RWC done and then they still want to fine me...what the heck?
  3. I see what you mean...I am loving the clean look...took my GTR for a spin from the workshop the other day...a few other Skylines lined up next to me and said...hey, is that a GTR? I'm like - nah nah, it's just a stock GTS and when they heard the roar of the twin turbos and the RB26 they were like, you lied...I was like, yeah I guess I did! lol
  4. Best thing to do as I always do with local wrecking threads is arrive at your place and pick out what I want and then ask you to price them on the spot. I will buy various parts mate....please PM me your phone number or SMS me on 0411 381 824.
  5. Do a search for one of my threads in the Cosmetics section regarding my adventures of repairing a set of Nismo N1 LMGT4's...freaken costly and such a time waster...but eventually got them fixed...go to whitepages.com.au and search for Steve's Wheels in the Sunshine area...say Kevin with the R33 GTR sent you...if all the other places fail...he can fix them for you.
  6. Agreed...Melbourne has become so much more violent, most chicks that go to clubs are broad minded personts now and cops are targeting imports like Skylines without any degree of mercy...I am quite sick of getting pulled over all the time.
  7. Hi all, First and foremost, I got a few mates that work as a police officers. Top blokes and I know most cops do their jobs etc when they're defecting us...and as we all know, the purpose of them 'putting away' as much unroadworthy cars as possible getting closer to Christmas is so that the roads are safer for everyone...I respect that...however, let's face it, unless a Skyline is a stock as a rock...we are easy targets for the blue boys...as a lot of SAU members have commented before, cops think most Skylines are modified - and most of the time Skylines are modified...such an easy target... Anyway...enough with my ranting...basically, if your car is not stock as a rock, leave it at home (or limit your driving) as most cops have been asked to ramp up "operation RAID." A blitz that will see them try to defect as much unroadworthy cars as they can. So far 6 of my friends who drive Skylines have already been defected in recent weeks leading to Christmas (including myself)...and let me tell you, getting a lenient roadworthy now is even harder than finding a virgin girl beyond 18... I recently got back to Melbourne and drive my GTS-T back from the workshop after the defect notice was cleared and within a couple of hours, I got search again and given a fine as they find other small things that they thought made the car unroadworthy... For example: - front windscreen had some small scratches - they want me to replace it in the new year. I explained to them it's a 16 year old car, they can't expect the front windscreen to be scratch-free and besides, it does not have any cracks or big scratches at all. They didn't care - fix it or we'll get you again! FFS. - My front inner mud guard has a bit of wear and tear...i.e. it was a bit ripped...let's face it, some of us don't even have one...they said by law if it does not have the mud guard then it's unroadworthy...it didn't matter to them...the car didn't look in good condition so it was deemed unroadworthy... - I had duck-tapped some of the existing wiring that was left over after I had to remove my side pillar gauges...they said it looked messy and is also a fire risk. I need to fix it by Christmas. - They complained that my head lights looked a bit dirty. I said I had cleaned them recently and most R33's of this age would have slightly dirty or yellowy head lights...they said it was unroadworthy. Anyway, they made me wait in the car for like 20 minutes with the likelihood of another defect notice being issued. I waited anxiously and finally one cop approaches me and gives me a $290 fine for driving a vehicle that was still deemed unroadworthy but they were nice enough not to defect me again...so I drive the thing home and have it under covers...I'm scared shitless to drive the fucckaa anywhere now...and have to wait for my GTR to come back from the mechanics after Christmas...FFS... Anyway, stay the hell off most of the usual hot spots in the West and Eastern suburbs if you want to avoid running into the blue boys...my friend in the police force has advised that they have been told by their superiors to ramp up on defects...so watch out! SM
  8. Wow, such passion and love for the 'R'...word! So you seriously would rather have a ball sack in your mouth than drive a VL Calais Turbo? Oh yeah...
  9. Yeah I agree...with cops chasing imports like a man chasing titties...it sure doesn't help with all this criminal shyte too!
  10. +1 to that...I think your comments have summed it up. I don't think the R35 is for me. I have yet to test drive the Audi R8 but will do so sometime next year and may just save long and hard for it with a view of purchase later next year instead. Thanks fellas...much appreciated.
  11. Hey mate...I gotta give up here mate...cannot help you there...suggest you post a new thread in the suspension or drivetrain section. With my GTS4 it came with 5 stud wheel conversion already done - I just turboed it and that was it. Not to demotivate you, be honest mate, after all that hard work...looking back, I think it was cheaper to just go and buy a GTR. However, if you can build a GTS4-T into a monster then it just adds to the fun! As you know I now have two cars, a GTR and a GTS4-T - I gotta say, I do have a soft spot for my GTS4-T as it was with it that I had spent so much time and money. Go for it buddy!
  12. Hey mate...I see....guess you're going to turn it to a track-car only then...cannot wait to see how it turns out...keep us posted!
  13. Hey guys, ok so I test drove a R35 GTR today...I have to say, it pulls freaken hard from factory...it goes very well but the only thing is, it's really nimble, quiet and somewhat too tamed....do you guys feel this too? I have to say, my R33 GTR feels much more rough and wild...whereas the R35 GTR just doesn't have that GTR Godzilla feel to it...or am I just being bias? However, I really liked it's interior and handling...very very nice.
  14. Anyone out there have one??
  15. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091218/ap_on_bi_ge/us_gm_saab
  16. WTF, another stolen Aristo??? There was one stolen a couple of weeks ago...now another one? What does this say - that these cars are wanted or are easy targets? That's terrible, so sorry to hear that mate....those farken kunnts
  17. Let me sum it up this way for you - all areas have bad spots...so this is a pointless thread!
  18. Have you flared your rear guards yet? You cannot say it's a widebody until the rear and fronts are proportionally flared...also, to give it the fat look, you have to get a GTR spec bonnet and GTR spec front bar...all this adds to the new fat look. Your colour is unique mate...I call it the Caramel colour! lol Nice!! I wish you chose the GOLD look ....actually looks nicer in my opinion!
  19. You should push your lights forward a bit if you have not done so already...if you want to do it right, you have to get a new GTR bonnet and a GTR spec front bar...moreover, your rear guards are not flared out enough - I suggest you push it out more.
  20. I know how upset you are...however, he was doing his job. Doesn't matter in which city or town you are in... If you drive a high powered car on your P's then you're breaking the law. Sell your Skyline or don't drive it until you're off your P's.
  21. A jet-black R33 if kitted and modified right is sexiest! Period...looks farken tough...day or night...but yes...harder to maintain and I f**ken had those swirls or stains that are left over after the rain....I wash my car at least twice a week...but besides that...love it!
  22. To sum it up for you, it'll cost like $800 for the kit that's if you're going fiberglass then around $1,000 to get it painted, then you'll might want some extra parts and/or badges and all that ricey stuff, so $2,000 all in all would be fair.
  23. LOVE is all you'll need mate...as Michael Jackson once said...I mean, always said..."the world needs more love...I love you all..."
  24. Anyone? I really want one!!
  25. Good to hear buddy....good to hear...basically, the boys in blue have won...I just want my car to look stock as anything else and in-betwen is just not required...I really have lost the love for my Skylines after this year...sick and tired of getting pulled over and treated like a criminal...so I absolutely agree with you mate!
