  1. Hey mate, I agree with you - the new green plates look arse! And yeah, I agree once again, it would have made more sense for us current P-platers to keep our red plates with the newbies being given the new green ones. Actually, correct if I am wrong; but weren't they going to do exactly this - I can swear I read somewhere that people getting their P's after the 1st of July 2008 will be on a new P's (e.g. these green ones) and they would therefore have to stay on for 1 year longer or something... Or, I could have been mistaken - it might be that they go on their red P's for 3 years with the final year being on their green P's (like us people) - anyways, someone can confirm this. Despite them looking like a donkey's arse, you can't change the colour of your P's - e.g., those white background P's with the red letter - 100% illegal and you can get fined for them. If you have a tinting problem like me - I suggest and the cops themselves have suggested this many time - stick the P's on the outside - don't know about you guys, but if I'm on my P's (which I am by the way), I'd stick it outside to avoid a $155 fine and loss of 2 demerit points. I personally used a big piece of bluetac in the centre of the P plate and just apply water to the edges, push it down really hard and as it dries, it will harden and will not fall off. I can give a stuff about VicRoads, just wanna do my time and get off these stupid P plates - when you're 26 and still on your P's, makes you look like an arse riding a tricycle imo. Well, the new laws kick in midnight 30/6 so make sure they're on that night or you'll be fined and lose 2 demerits points for forgetting to upgrade to a gayer colour!!
  2. Hey all, I finally ordered some canards from the US (with the help of a nice SAU forumer). I should be in a position to get them install soon and can't wait to get them one. I was wondering if anyone has pictures of with installed on a R33. I could only find the following (at least it has a R33 front bar). What you guys think??
  3. I like those too - where to get them and do they come in R33's?
  4. It won't be long before Toyota releases their new flagship twin-turbo Toyota Supra! http://www.automobilemag.com/features/news...t_hs/index.html
  5. Call your state's road authorities office mate.
  6. I can appreciate is love for Skylines - but a prelude's puppy eyes on a R33 is not the way to go... it's like combinding a cat and with a rat's arse!
  7. Like some have commented already... if you have a auto license and still on your P's, you are not (legally) allowed to drive a manual vehicle as the test you had past was no doubt done in an automatic vehicle. However, when you are off your P's, you can drive any sort of car you want provided that of course you can drive a manual car. What others have said is generally true - cops often do not check for transmission type of the vehicle that you are licensed to drive - however, a mate of mine was caught out once and was fined $155 and a loss of 1 demerit point if my memory serves me right. So yeah, I would not drive at risk if I were you - alternatively, like you said - just go for the test again, this time apply for a manual license (which of course also allows you to drive automatic vehicles) and take a the driving test again in a manual vehicle. It's as simple as that.
  8. Sorry to hear mate, I often go to the Essendon area to visit some friends - I've saved your number, will call you should I catch a glimpse of it. Like other forumers have suggested, keep an eye out on autosale websites, newspapers and call local wreckers. It's such a tragedy to have a car stolen just right in front of your frontyard.
  9. Too round for my liking - but I guess this is the direction most modern cars are heading towards.
  10. WELL, TWO PEOPLE TURNED UP - IT WAS GOOD NEVERLESS... WE WENT TO MACCAS FOR A DRINK AS PLANNED... THANKS FOR COMING DOWN FELLAS...
  11. MEET ME AT THE CAR WASH FELLAS!! MAKE IT 6:30PM FOR GOOD ORDER... SEE YOU ALL THERE!
  12. FELLAS, IF YOU DON'T TELL ME SOMEONE'S COMING - THIS IS OFF... AS I'VE HAD NUMEROUS PM'S AND A FEW FRIENDS ALREADY SAYING IT'S TOO COLD/WET ETC FOR THIS TO BE ONE.... I WILL WAIT ANOTHER 20 MINS, IF NO RESPONSES THEN NO USE CONTINUING!!
  13. Thanks fellas, I guess - I'll just hang fo an extra 1-2 months then pay it (but won't drive until then). Thanks. COME TO TONIGHT'S CRUISE ANYONE? http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Victoria-f100.html
  14. SO I'LL SEE YOU THERE SOON AT 6PM PEOPLES!!
  15. Yeah mate, I'm coping it fine at the moment... but this is only due to the amount of furniture and housewares that we've bought over the last few months... once this folds over, I'll be fine... interest rate will jack my mortgage up by around $300, so I'm not phrased... But yeah, it just shows, you can never earn enough for life... hahaha
  16. +1 - great idea! But only one problem - we had a jar like that too - it was opened up for the lounge! Never knew buying new home and having to furnish it would cost so bloody much!
  17. That's sweet. But we only have one credit card and let's say it's maxed out for good purpose - so no go.
  18. Thanks mate... yeah, I'm only in financial strife now as I bought a $3K bed and a $670 matress plus some other homewares stuff that the wife picked out... lol ... 2 more month is sex for me... I'll be fine then... at least, like you say, I still can get it re-registered subject to a RWC, but that'll just be a hassle... once again, thanks mate! Do you think I'll have to call vicroads to arrange this?
  19. Come down dude...
  20. That's it champ... nothing like a RB orgy ah!!
  21. Thanks for your comments buddy... yeah, I feel the same... presenting my vehicle for a RWC is not an option.
  22. Occassional flashes nowadays mean 3 things 1. You're lights are too high. 2. You're lights are too bright. 3. You're giving you the 'heads up' for nearby cops. So yeah, could be either one dude!
  23. Well mate, the reality is - a genuine full CF bonnet will cost anywhere between $1,500 - $2,500. I don't know about you, but I can't justify spending that much for an original full CF bonnet, say, ordered directly from Nismo or Top Secret Motorsports etc from Japan. All the CF bonnets you see floating around in Austalia are mostly copies with around, say, 60% CF on top and the bottom is mainly fibreglass - if you go for the even cheaper ones that's around $400-$600, the top is really glossy-looking so it's not even true CF anyway - and yes, all this is more for looks. Most CF Bonnet copies come from China or other surrouding Asian countries. If it's slightly performance you're after, then go a CF bonnet copy, if it's true performance that you're after and can afford it, I would go full CF - whereas it's just the look you want, you can always get a FG one and see if you can get it painted cheap. I'm in the same situation as you - can't decide what to do... and I really can't afford a full FC one to be honest...but all the copies that I've seen just don't cut it as they all look so shonky... also, have you seen what a chipped FC Bonnet and a damaged windscreen looks like? I have - a mate of mind has one on his S14, going at highspeeds and the thing flipped up and smashed his windscreen - both look like an earthquake's hit them... I might even stay stock... don't know yet. Let me know how you go...
  24. You got any pics of the flush-fitted boot? and whatever happened to the Nismo insignia?
