CF bonnet for the win - I am saving up for one....
-
Correct , by law, officers are not allowed to force you or physically touch your car, i.e. open up your bonnet etc or take pictures of it without your consent - but I know how you felt, you were nervous and in the moment. I suggest you speak to Vicroads and do all that you can to get this cleared up asap, as I know getting an import registered nowadays is harder than before.

I got defected a couple of months back for having a metal GT style wing. Basically, as long as the end bits are not sharp (ok with round) - as the cops are concerned that if your vehicle is involved in an accident - the metal sharp bits don't fly off and slice someone's throad or head off. The above is an extreme example, but I guess it can happen as opposed to have something not sharp then it will use give them a black eye or something less severe.

www.bodykits.com.au - quite obvious, I know... but it does exist. lol

Wtd! Gtr Front Bar Lip
Spunky Munky replied to bevo89's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
The WTB section is here mate: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Wanted-Buy-f13.html With the lip thing, if you wanna go genuine you should contact your local Nissan dealer. Aftermarket stuff just doesn't cut it on a GTR. However, if you want aftermarket stuff, just go any bodykit place. -

Cops Presence And Defects/fines On Victorian Roads.
Spunky Munky replied to Spunky Munky's topic in Victoria
Very thoughtful reply, champ! Couldn't have said it better. I only recently got my license back a couple of months ago (had lost it for like 16 months) - it was months of agony, my license to me is worth more than old or silver. So I guess you're right, obey the laws and do the right thing. For example, you're at the lights and someone taunts you - so what, just drive slow and on the speed limit... who gives a rat's anus what he thinks... -
Cops Presence And Defects/fines On Victorian Roads.
Spunky Munky replied to Spunky Munky's topic in Victoria
So my hunch was right... the cops are giving us more space and undestanding... that's a great achievement... let's not let them down... I'd hate to be pulled over and fined for everything under the sun again... used to feel paranoid driving around at night... it's much better and for that I am very grateful... If any cops read this thread... thanks fellas!! -
Cops Presence And Defects/fines On Victorian Roads.
Spunky Munky replied to Spunky Munky's topic in Victoria
Hey mate, yeah might be the case... yeah, I used to d a few silly things but I'm much better now and have learnt my lesson so yeah... could be the reason... and I'm saying I obey the laws now as I do - can't make it simpler than that, Ash. -
Agreed mate... honestly, that bastard honestly just wanted to tease me so that I would get done by the speed cameras or worse yet get pulled over... ffs... seriously... I get 'greasies' by older people all the time on the roads... kinda getting offensive now, wouldn't you think...
-
Hi all, Is it just me what's lucky or has there actually been a decline on defect notices and fines given out by cops. I've driven up to the Springvale region in the last few months and it would appear that the cops are treating us better... and for this I am very grateful. I always obey the laws, drive carefully and don't hoon etc, but I used to get pulled over all the time, but now it's much better - is this because there are less fatalities on the road and they're finally given us a break? What are your experience? Thanks,

What Do Yous Guys Think Of My R32 Gtr?
Spunky Munky replied to GTRBOS's topic in General Automotive Discussion
mate, just for your info... there's two types of this bonnets... there's the Topsecret T1 and T2 ... the T2 one does not have the extra vent on the lower left side bu has 1 additional vent in the middle (check my thread in the cosmetics section for more info). Both nice, but I think T2 (not the one our friend has posted here) looks a wii bit better. -
Yeah fair point buddy... it can go either way... but we're talking in the circumstances here - but do hope the bloke that caused this problem does cough up some cash for this poor guy. Funny things happen on the roads and it's funny who the cops always tend to hold an unbias stance... guess it's their job to.
-
Yeah cheers. Agreed... as if I would drag him - not that I ever would do such a thing... but even if I were someone else who would, why would waste my petrol with him... to add to it.... he had toys all lined up on the back window... he had the simpsons, carebears and other poofy stuff too... lol...
-
hahah... your subject sounds like you got carbon fiber eyelids on yourself and need help to surgical remove them... lol ok ok, not the real side... these are still rare - not much people make them, but try here www.justjap.com , www.nismo.com.au or ebay (US Motoring site) - personally speaking, unless you got a cf bonnet, I would steer away from cf eyelids. Good luck.

Does This Look Too Cheap Or Dodgy?
Spunky Munky replied to R33-RB26DETT's topic in General Automotive Discussion
you'll be surprised... there's been a resurfacing of power fc's on the market lately (most used) plus it's in USD - so still quite cheap, but not cheap enough to start raising eyebrows. -
What Do Yous Guys Think Of My R32 Gtr?
Spunky Munky replied to GTRBOS's topic in General Automotive Discussion
looks good and tidy buddy... but I would get black flush bonnet pins - the two silver/metal bonnet pods stand out too much and looks a bit crowded. but overall, neat... good job! -
Around $50-$60 a guard sounds right... don't live in Sydney so can't recommend which place to go to - but with paint scrapping... get some sand paper and sand it back smoothly, then spray some primer on the cracked area (with other areas masked up of course) - then apply a few layers of matching paints then clear coat it... and it should not be noticable at all. Good luck.

Smoked Or Clear Indicator On A Black R34?
Spunky Munky replied to Wacky Dee's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
mate, what's the colour of your car - sorry, could only read first page, but it all depends... I would say smoked ones for brighter/lighter colours, such as white, blue, etc... and clear ones for darker colours such as black, grey and navy blue etc... Personally, I like the clear indicators with the orange globe... looks trendy but yet visible. From far away, the smoke ones can be a bit hard to see... as when it blinks, when it's in the 'off' cycle it's really hard to see... -
Can Someone Confirm If This Paint Is Standard Or Not?
Spunky Munky replied to usmair's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Looks like you guys got this one sorted, but if all things fail - got to paint shop and ask one of the service staff to go and colour match your car - I had this done a while back to y front bumper (touch up paint) and it looks very identical... having said that, my car is black so it's not that hard... but yeah... good luck mate... -
R33 Carbon Fiber Bonnet.
Spunky Munky replied to Spunky Munky's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Thanks all - especially those that have posted pictures of they're rides with cf bonnets - very much appreciated. Uumm.... still twisting and turning... supplies from one a reputable supplier from SAU will be coming in a few weeks time so I will need to make a decision asap... at this stage, I'm leaning 60% on the T2 and 40% on the Nismo Z tune one... all the other designs are not even worth looking at imo. Thanks fellas. -
