Its because you're running less backpressure and hence giving you more power ... the more psi you boost it up to means more turbo lag... I wouldn't say you go faster - more so less lag... if that makes sense.

Question - are you talking about remapping your stock ECU or an aftermarket FC? Never new stock ECU's can be remapped.

Mate - don't be stingy when it comes to an alarm - sure, if someone wants to steal your car they most likely would... but hey, if a good and reliable alarm; this process will sure as hell be harder and will also give you a chance to keep your car... I recommend anything from a Viper to a mongoose. You can buy it off ebay and then go to a installer e.g. Autobarn, Strathfields, Gary's Radio and alarms or an auto-eletrician and get it hooked up. Or, you can go to one of the above places and get the alarm supplied and fitted. Good luck mate.

I think this thread can be closed now ... it's pretty clear what people think you should do - get it fixed or sell it. I mean this in the most supportive way - I mean, driving around like this, the cops will sooner or later check your engine bay and it'll just bring more problems in the future. Made, if you speed over 30 km/r over the legal speed limit in a particular zone then it's an immediate loss of license and a fine coupled with a court summons. The cop made it pretty fine-cut that your car will be impounded. Although I can appreciate the reason as to why you sped to your mother's location (I would have done the same, I guess) - but neverless, you broke the law and you will be done by the law... if I were you, I would get a good solicitor and be prepared for the court hearing now. It will cost you for the next few months for sure. Sorry to hear this made. Good luck. A summons will take anywhere from 2-6 months to happy, so it won't be until June next year I would have thought before you appear in court.

I agree, black cars look odd ith full CF hoods... but if you paint them, they look mad... well, I've rang around a few places... cheapest I could find was $700 - that's pretty expensive... nearly $1K for a hood... It could be a hi-flow turbo - I know hi-flows spin a few times after you turn off the car... actually quite normal... even if it's not an aftermarket turbo you run - I wouldn't worry... a turbo is like a fan, if you turn a fan off, it normally does some rpm's before coming to a full stop. If you lose performance then I would worry, otherwise... not a major issue mate.

I'm glad that you manage to fix it yourself... take it to a dodgy mechanic and he'll tell you a dinosaur stepped on it and will charge you an arm and a leg! This is what I hate and have always opted to know of 1 mechanic only...

That's right mate... if it works fine then I wouldn't worry... If you can afford it, I would definitely recommend a tune.

IMO - the R33 GTR looks the toughest... it's no boat if you mod it right... the R33 is the sexiest, hottest and most aggressive looking Skyline... if I had the cash, I would definitely get a R33 GT-R VSPECII. R34 looks nice too, but the R33 is street-wise looking - tough!

It sounds to me that either the exhaust piping is cracked or something's wrong with your engine... sounds serious enough to bring straight to a mechanic... if I were you, I would dropped it off asap - when you see this much smoke and losing power - I would not even try to fix it myself.

When did you get your intercooler piping done this way.... it's not safe.... and affects the car's structural strength..

This is exactly what I said... if you wanna get an atmo BOV - nothing wrong with that - get yourself an aftermarket ecu like an Apexi FC and spend $450 on a tune not to mention the $1,300 on the FC... or just take the god-damned BOV off at put your stock on or one that plumbs back into the engine back on.... your call... I've decided to go back to the stockie... runs nice and fuel economy is better too....
