There wasn't a need to completely shut it down just simply dull it down. Big jumping castle etc are excellent but the costs add up and if only 5-10 people show it will be a bit of a let down. Its the old K.I.S.S rule. We are only a small bunch of people.

Does this answer your questions? This is mine with the GT30 making ~300rwkw.

7/12 is good for me. Even if no one else turns up it will be a good day with the young lad down the park.
-
The cams made mine quite a bit louder on idle cruise etc but I'm used to it now. Still quieter than an rb25 with a canon style exhaust by far. It sounds louder in the car than it is outside when I've had the other half drive the car.
-
Mine is fairly quite on cruise/idle but really roars/ear splitting if u flyby at WOT.

And your simply trying to organise a gathering of people. Imagine how it is when you organise a meet down at Mallala for a practice day with a bbq 40 people 'say' they will show and only 5 of us do. SAU/SA is still too small for events to 'consistently' work other than a simply cruise/gocart etc. Sometimes events will take off other times they will simply flop due to the time/date. In response to your comment... No I wasn't able to attend as I have a b'day to attend.Regardless if I participate in a thread or not if I don't say I'm going its simple I'm not going.

All plugs for example. BCPR6E or BKR7E are pregapped to 0.8mm. They can be had from some stores but often need to be ordered in. You can grab the BCPR6E-11 or BKR7E-11 which are pregapped to ..... 1.1mm and then gap them down I prefer to grab the 0.8mm pregapped plugs as the strap appears to be slightly shorter so the gap is more consistent even at 0.8mm to what the 1.1's are. In saying that I haven't noticed any difference between 0.8 and 1.1's gapped down to 0.8mm. Currently I'm running BKR7E-11 gapped down to 0.8mm's.

Once over ~270rwkw step up to the 7's. 350rwkw then I'd look at the 8's but then your in to easy plug fouling territory. I run the BKR7E's, most places can only get the BKR7E-11's so grab them and gap them down. I have no issues with plug fouling poor starting or plug fouling when cold. The 6's were coming out looking a tad hot for the power its making; the 7's look perfect. I get around 30,000km's out of mine but thats really pushing them. They start to look worn at 20,000km's but don't seem too cause problems (hard starting and the odd pop) until 30k.

BCPR6E ~$26 for a set of 6.

Vu, Did you pull the squeel shims off the old brake pads and clipped them on to the new? 'Sometimes' its easy not to see the squeel shims on the old pads if they are dirty and full of brake dust.

Few Simple-350kwv300kw Etc.. Questions
Cubes replied to GTAAAH's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I've looked in to the legality issues sought advice etc... Larger turbo's, ECU, bigger injectors are not any less illegal than a larger motor. At the end of the day HP is HP. If the car is insured and in a questionable accident suspected due to speed/hooning. The aftermarket ecu & larger turbo's will be found and insurance will be void as a result you may be up for the cost of car/property and bodily damage involved. Big $$ and thats still with the 2.6ltr. When listing mods with the insurance company there is fine print stating it is on onus of your self to ensure mods listed are legal. If they are not well .... Insurance void. Then there's the bodily insurance that is part of your registration. Illegal mods and insurance is void. Typically mods are not looked at unless it is suspected excessive speed has possibly attributed to the accident. In short.. They won't go any easier on you just because its a 2.6ltr. Go the 3ltr, full crank collar, forged rods, pistons and ATI balancer (all the bits youd shove in to a tough rb26 anyway) and it will see 8-8.5k reliably with a hell of a lot more low and mid range which allows the sizing of a considerably larger turbo before drive ability is negatively impacted. -
Ruby. There's not even a need to shove a bbq in the back. There's a few parks around that have free bbq's etc.. Might be worth considering. BYO snags etc. I could bring a pack with a loaf of bread and some sauce. A few of us do that and it should cover the slackers that aren't organised enough to bring their own. Mitcham Reserve, Old Blair Road and http://www.whereis.com/sa/mitcham/16-newey...=3B90D94F03F673 Regano Road has a little Reserve just off Flagstaff Hill road. http://www.whereis.com/sa/flagstaff-hill/1...=3B908ABF7D0E74 Both have free gas/elec what ever they are bbq's.

Any special requirements over there? R33/GTR front brakes or emissions?

Guilt-Toy. Did you cut the filter open to ensure it was blocked from gum and shit rather than the media collapsing? Which brand filter was it? The usual ryco?

Whining Noise Coming From Gearbox/clutch
Cubes replied to jkotsa's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
It will be the input shaft bearing. Definitely not the spiggot and unlikely to be the clutch throw out bearing. Input shaft bearing noise - Common for the RB20 box's in almost any condition and common in the rb25 and 26 box's that are thrashed. Eventually they will fail. Generally smash a gear or two due to the bearings being noisy/slack/loose creating tooth mesh issues. -
On that note.....
-
There is a better solution. Don't cruise Anzacs on a Fri/Sat night that is known as Hoon central.

Not true Dunno. Aftermarket plumb back bov's are typically adjustable with regardes to the quick release function of the bov. The std bov constantly bleeds a little boost and is very quick releasing which reduces emissions. Aftermarket bovs are illegal even if they are plumb back as they are 'adjustable' and not to standard specifications. Here in SA at least anyway. Give your local vehicle standards a buzz and find out if its the same in NSW.

Sure they deal with asses all day but there is a level of professionalism that 'should' come with the job. Obtain an initial impression of the mug you've pulled over and go from there. Sure if the mug is a smart arse they deserve to get whats coming but if they are not well there's simply no need to be an ass as such. So Dan... Were you a smart arse or had attitude? In your instance the cop was wrong, regardless he should have said sorry bud. My mistake. Did he do so? If not I would still be looking at lodging a complaint as in the past I've had cool level headed police and I've had complete arses throw the contents of my glove box on the ground asking where the drugs are when from the word I've been cool and answered their questions perfectly fine. The ones that are out to harass for no good reason or to simply have a little fun with some one are the ones that need to have a complaint made against them.

Top RB20 Club... do you have over 260rwkw?
Cubes replied to RBsileighty's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Thats what mine was doing (identical wave/dips) with its 300rwkw run but pushing in a little more ignition timing cleaned up the curve. -
Complete ass. Make an official complaint.
-
When the cams went in the first thing we noticed was power was up slightly but it allowed more ignition to be pushed in which is where the power picked up noticeably.

Robo, The Z32 AFM what peak voltage are you seeing? I run GTR 444 injectors. They flowed 440cc at 36psi and 480cc at 40psi. At base pressure they were maxed as 260rwkw approached (Z32 saw 4.78volts) to hold a 11.8:1 afr. A 1afr point drop at idle (adj fpr) and fitting cams has seen them go to 302rwkw at 90% duty and a flat 12:1 afr. 302rwkw I'm now seeing a flat 5volts on the Z32. I'd really like a 3.5" exhaust with 2 large body mufflers in an attempt to keep the noise down.

Ryan... I'd be suprised if the GT35r .63 came on hard in the low 3000's on the RB25 when driving. The turbine map shows the GT35r .63 has the same flow/pressure as the GT30 .82. The GT30 .82 on the road with a 25t comes on hard closer to 4000rpm. At a guess I'd expect you to feel a hard shove in the back by 4k in second gear and 3.6-3.7k in third gear.
