  1. The crank collar is only $150 or $300 fitted.. Something along those lines, drop Proengines a PM directly, much quicker and accurate.
  2. If you are going to be reving it to 7500-8000rpm and want it to be reliable seriously consider having Proengines slap one of this oil pump drive snouts on the crank. Also consider an ATI balancer, prevention is much much better than a very expensive cure. :S
  3. There is a warning available for off topic...
  4. No.. Appears to be exactly the same.. Knock isn't any higher than ~30, I do get a knock around 4000rpm, power then goes flat until ~5000rpm where the lifters pump up and power noses over noticably. One thing I didn't fiddle with last time it was on the dyno was the o2 feedback setting. I was going to try and lean it out a little (~15.2 up from the std 14.7) and see if fuel economy improved. Since the GTR injectors have gone in cold starts are a pain in the arse, takes a little to long to kick and when it does it basically stalls straight away, warm is perfect. Maybe you can share your cold start enrichment. I remember hearing your R32 doing the same upon a cold start chris... or doesn't it? The injectors were perfect prior to the flow/clean and obviously perfect after, zero leaks all flow within 1% of each other. I replaced all o-rings and injector/manifold insulators. Zero vacuum leaks. Fuel economy is great though.. Back down to ~10.6L/100km's. When its up and running again (tomorrow afternoon) I'll have a fiddle with the cold start, I'm thinking it needs a little more fuel.
  5. Unfortunately no. Come on.. this is a skyline... No need for Raa.. lol First time I've actually needed a tow in the line, even then it still managed to limp home.
  6. Cheerz.. I rang Caltex, $60 + deposit. Up north there's Kanga Coachlines 83449646 - $40 + deposit. I've managed to find a flatbed for tomorrow afternoon for $65. Flagstaff to Moana. For future reference these are the two mobs that were well priced, pitty Down South Towing wasn't available at the time I needed. Down South Towing - 0409696499 - Quoted $50 Daniel Towing - 0417775262 - Quoted $65
  7. Thats the plan.. The muffler is rather large but hidden up inside, I painted the rear of the muffler black so that it was as you said.. Unassuming. Off the road at the moment though.. It munched third gear that has now caused all first 3 gears to lock, damn that 393nm of dyno tractive effort at 2500rpm.
  8. Hi ppls, I've rang around the southern tow places, some are silly priced some are well priced, the well priced are unable to tow the car tomorrow afternoon. 3:30 onwards. Does any one know of a car trailer hire mob that are well priced or a flat bed tow mob?
  9. Thats it... She's a 3" all the way through with a 3" s/steel tip. 3" should be plenty for up to 300rwkw.
  10. Ive picked up another 20t g/box... Lets see how long it lasts. :S Such a pitty I don't have the $$ nor the time this week to grab a 25t box. Little boys birthday this weekend, lots to do. :S Fun fun fun...
  11. I can't say I never have.
  12. Hi ppls, I'm after an R32 RB20DET Gearbox in good condition ASAP.
  13. 3rd gear let go this morning.. Idling out of a corner at low speed in third gear, light throttle off boost just cruising; loud bang then the huge thoughts of.... If I stop will I get going again?!?! So I managed to idle it back to home. :S No real warning signs, the gearbox had a bit of a whine since I bought the car 140,000km's or 4.5years ago. Possibly the last dyno tune with those long 4th gear windouts helped it along. Still all in all I'm impressed with the gearbox's strength, its done a huge amount of km's and given quite a hard time. I'll rip it apart and find out exactly what let go. Any one know of a cheap rb20t gearbox in Adelaide? I'm unable to drop a 25det box behind it due to finances, I need to get the valve float sorted first.. Priorities. lol
  14. That last little bit........ But as stated earlier, that was with a bar/plate fmic that does block airflow to the radiator, probably very similiar to that of a badly designed front end such as a VL or 180sx. Which remindes me, My sisters VL had an issue with cooling, at higher road speeds it too would creep temp. replaced clutch fan.. all gone.
  15. No need to get narky.. I am no expert on physics.... I have however performed the experiment when I too was having over heating issues. The paper was sucked backwards in to the engine bay over ~55km/h, I didn't bother running at speeds over 60km/h. It was a simple drive around the block. I do run a 100mm bar/plate FMIC that isn't boxed off to the a/c condensor/radiator, I suspect the fmic prevents air flowing well past the radiator in to the engine bay, especially when not boxed off. I suspect the gibson DR30's were very well boxed off so hardly comparable. I do know the clutch fan works much harder since the fmic was fitted which is another indication there is little pressure placed upon the front of the radiator. My overheating issues were the clutch fan, it was engaging but not well enough. 100km/h would not run the car any cooler, if anything it would run a little warmer, possibly due to a higher load placed on the engine. Without the FMIC, if it was boxed or a different front end design my findings may have been different. Experiment and see...
  16. 200rwkw via PFC? Throw it on the dyno and see what afr's are. As mentioned prior, dirty injectors were my problem.
  17. Ghostrider, Lifting the back of the bonnet only aids cooling at low road speeds. The back of the bonnet/lower of the windscreen is a high pressure zone once road speeds are higher. One reason why manufactures place air inlet vents at that location... High pressure. As a test raise the back of the bonnet, grab a few strips of paper and sticky them on to the back of the bonnet.. Raise road speed and watch them get sucked in to the engine bay. This will be especially noticable IF you run an FMIC without boxing it off to the radiator.
  18. Posts don't dissapear, I haven't deleted any of yours, only edited 1. I've deleted a thread where some one (I can't remember who) felt like having a pissing competition by comparing how quick they can get to Victor or something... Thats just plain stupid.
  19. There is when there's stupid talk about illegal activities. We need to keep it clean in a cruise thread when I KNOW there are members of this board who are SA Police. There's no need for nit-picking, it only provokes arguments. We all know what 4doorsleeper is getting at. I've only edited one of yours; two of Chris's.
  20. Enough is enough Chris... Worse than an old woman...
  21. They are indeed scarce.. Bosch Australia have 20 items coming in. They won't be able to supply us with the required number of airflow meters until May. Sorry for the hassle peoples. Early January the airflow meters were available, a production issue occured resulting in no AFM's. I will PM every one as we approach the time and see if your still interested in an AFM and create a new group buy.
  22. hrmm... RB25DET Turbo could be had for that sort of money if not a little less $400-$450. You will need an FMIC, push 14psi, have it rechipped to suit and it will be pushing 190rwkw with the injectors running on the edge. Then look at a set of GTR injectors, grab an R30 Skyline resistor pack, wire it in, sell the rb25det turbo, buy gt2530 and dial in 18psi, have it rechipped and enjoy 220-230rwkw but with MUCH more mid range. Then if you wanted to go furthur and still enjoy it on the street your best bet is to look at the rb25 or 26.
  23. Its been a slow day today, many many phone calls. :S I was unable to find a wharehouse that had any z32 airflow meters. I'm expecting a call from Bosch tomorrow, I will know where I stand with regards to a time frame then. Please bear with me as the group buy will definitely be going through. WHEN is in the hands of Bosch Germany.
  24. The Z32 is an airflow meter from the 300ZX Z32. That Z32 300ZX model runs the VG30DETT. The VG30 motor was release in many different cars.
  25. On a stock rb20det an intercooler will do very little if anything. You may find it actually feels a little less snappy and slightly less responsive as the turbo now has to fill the FMIC and piping. Stock rb20det is the usual exhaust with 12psi. Larger IC's are there to simply keep the inlet charge temp down and allow high airflow levels. The std sized IC will keep it down for a little until it becomes heat soaked, it will also become a restriction once you begin dialing up the boost.
