Fs Dyno Run Worth $1300 Sellling For $500
Cubes replied to IrishR's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Because there's V8 nuts that hang around the SAU forums in awe of the skylines brute acceleration. -
Looks to be my kind of turbo... Hows it rev? Noses over after 5500rpm or holds strong to what max rev's?? I'm curious on your setup... Its holding those high rev's well without breaking oil pumps.... 8cm turbine housing I assume? I'm sure you've heard it before.. but shiet... you can swing that 31 around unbelievably. Awesome.
-
No they don't make an rb30 block. They make a stroker kit which uses the RB26 block. The Aussy rb30 block is the much cheaper route for a streeter.
-
The RB30 is a 3ltr, the 3ltr from the R31 Skyline or VL Commodore. Not a 2.8ltr. The 2.8ltr stroker kit is bought from japan from Jun. Sky30 used a second hand running 270,000km's RB30, dropped it in his R32 GTST bolted on a R32 RB25DE head and off he went - Very side ways.... $$ - What ever a second hand RB30e and r32 rb25de head costs, + a few gaskets and the modification of engine mounts. ~$70 if you pay some one to do it. If you are a little mechanically minded the job can be done for rather cheap.
-
If all of the turbo's were tuned to max power then psi is irrelevant, one may make less power with more boost. Diff ratio's here are irrelevant as its all done to RPM.. The poor bloke with the GT42.. Much too big for the 2.6ltr. Excellent comparision.
-
I wouldn't want it going much past 100-110degree's. 95degree's is fairly warm, Bl4ck32 has an oil temp guage it sits pretty much level with water temp, being ~83-85degree's. One difference between yours and his is the lack of piston oil squirters, having piston oil squirters removes heat from the piston, possibly why yours is a little higher. Which oil temp guage did u get? one with a elec sender? How much I need one.
-
Yes I have an Rb30 in my R32 GTST as does Sky30. Sky30's plan as he stated is to put the rb30 in the GTS4. The only extra cost dropping the RB30 in the GTS4 is the $450 sump adaptor.
-
Wish I bought a GTS4 instead of the GTST. The RB30's off the line punch really goes to waste in the rwd.
-
hahaha, So you finally went the GTS4. Awesome.. I can't wait until its running, should be much MUCH more fun. Second gear roll on's out of corners are now going to be rather waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. What was the GTS4 worth?

What are the Zenith Cradle bushes? Actual bushes or the solid alloy ones? HOW MUCH? Also i'm keen on some steering bushes when I do my rack rubbers. I was planning on buying the Noltec cradle bushes from UAS for $190 and throwing them in as my currents have only just finished leaking all the silicon goo out of them.. I'm dropping a gtr shimmed center in it at the same time. On the dyno the rear wheels pull in towards the front of the rear guard, definitely a lot of movement there, looks scary. EDIT: Also need a g/box mount

The GTO weighs 1689kg's 1689kg/258=6.58kg per kw. R33 GTST would need around 210rwkw to be on par. R32 GTST would need around 198rwkw. Then the gear ratios will come in to play. Approximate obviously. Which is why my recent drive/thrash of a VT II R8 Clubsport 250i 6speed was so dissapointing. Lays some awesome first and second burnouts with a few rev's and clutch dump, perfectly smooth snakey's, unlike my R32's axle tramp.

R33 Sii - My Gt30 Upgrade Is Done. Lots Of Pics

BHDave, Care to share any pics of the engine bay.. I'm interested to see how the low mount cast manifold looks and positions the turbo. -
Cheap second hand SAFC will do the trick, scale the voltage back to the origional afm values. Definitely worth while if you need an afm now and have plans to throw a safc on it anyway. Think of it as for the price of a new std item from nissan you can have your self a bosch z32 + safc, making more power and slightly better fuel economy.

Forget about the chassis/suspension etc.. Looking at a pure acceleration point of view. The dead stock R32 GTST weighs more and only makes 10fwkw more than the R32 RB25DE N/A. Unfortunately it will not totally 'rip' the N/A. As said above.. weighs more but makes slightly more power. LSD's at this power level is not really requried. It will be very close.. lol even NA V6/VL/R31 commodores used to get the jump on my old stocker through first gear, I would then click second and slooooowllly wind past them. No doubt the N/A with basically the same power it will be much harder to catch. Once we start looking at the R33 and R34's the difference is much greater.

It sucks... I'm hanging off and trying not to jump in to it. Even then I think I will be dissapointed with its results. -
illusiVe, Maybe the R33's you've had a run against do what I do. Accelerate 'just' enough to sit side by side.. That gives me a kick to see the N/A's hard gear changes, I've only done it twice. Stock R32 GTST's do feel rather lethargic and non-turbo ish. It wouldn't suprise me if the R32 GTS N/A was able to beat it. My old R32 GTST when it was making 115rwkw dead stock used to run 0-100 in 6.5-6.7secs, it was fairly consistent. A little boost, exhaust and fmic had 0-100's in a consistent 5.2secs.
-
I was assuming after all. Merry Xmas... ho ho ho.. So the R33 N/A runs a 4.08:1 ratio. The R200 comes in a variety of ratio's so we have plenty to choose from. All that is required is a change of the crown and pinion. Right from 3.7 (3.69 I think to be exact), 3.9, 4.08, 4.11, 4.363:1, 4.6 I think it was, I also do remember there was some even higher diff ratio's. All parts are also very cheap.. Just a pitty there isn't as much of an option for the VL. There is one option. The R31 runs a 3.7:1 and 3.9:1 ratio. Take your pic.

BHDave runs a different setup. Not a VG30 GT30 setup. The VG30 turbine is slightly larger than a .63, estimated by ATS to be around the .7 mark. Then take in to consideration the machining of the nozzles etc. All of which will no doubt cause the setup to be just that little bit less efficient than a properly designed turbine housing. The fact is others running the VG30 GT30 setup from GCG which is no doubt very similiar to yours makes all their boost by approx 4000rpm. They run the smaller comp cover which will improve response and spool time ever so slightly, you run the larger .7. I've lost track.... Do you run an aftermarket manifold? I assume BHDave would as he runs an external gate. -
I've seen that BMW with the wogs, tried to give me runs as well. I idle it off the line fairly quickly using the 3ltrs torque, they then scream past as I change in to second at ~40km/h. Idling it off the line with the 3ltr is as quick as a new ls2 297kw thing idling it off the line so its fairly punchy.

I drove my uncles VT II 6speed 250i Clubsport, that has top end... lol it felt as if it was struggling as it nudged over 4000rpm. I was quite suprised how lazy and slow reving it was, a very unexciting car indeed. Wide power band but rather gutless overall. And I did give it quite a bit of shit, he said to rev and dump it. Nice smokey all the way through first and a bit of second. Still its a slow rev'r and boaring to drive, nearing the end of second at approx 90km/h it just feels boaring and slow. No top end really, well not compared to mine. My old VS 5ltr with ecu, mild cam, 3.5" exhaust, 5speed was more fun. I don't think you will get rid of lag Mafia.. Maybe bring it down to 4000rpm full spool but thats about as low as you will get with the vg30 gt30 setup. -
Coventry's sell new Z32 AFM's for ~$280.

216rwkw = 290rwhp. Don't underestimate the VLT, they are definitely a quick car. Mild mod wise they shit on both the R32 and R33 GTS-T. At a recent dyno day a mate of of only has a 2.5" exhaust, 13-14psi tailing off to ~11psi and an avo intercooler, stock ecu, stock everything else. It pulled 187rwkw. The R33's on the dyno that were running 12psi with 3" exhausts, intercoolers and PFC's were making 190rwkw. For mild mods they definitely have lots of potential. On the same dyno my R32 with rb30det, 3" exhaust, fmic, pfc, stock rb20det turbo @ 12psi tailing off to 9psi made 176rwkw. The stock rb20det turbo sucks. I think the VLT has the edge, it would really come down to the driver and tyres both of you are running. On the note of Commodores... I drove my Uncles VT II Clubsport 250i 6speed manual.. OMG.. I was so so dissapointed. It rev's so so slow, sure it has a wide arsed power band but the thing just doesn't want to rev, it feels simply lethargic. Its nice to put around but very boaring when you put the foot down. So so dissapointed. First felt ok but nothing that would make you go woooooh, second felt total crap, well it felt ok until around 80-90km/h where it felt as if the motor didn't want to rev and could do with a gear change. Basically it sucked, mine is so much more fun to drive, instant power any where, the v8 required you to wind it out.
-
I had the same issue trying to run the RB30DET on the rb20det ecu. At around 7psi or so a fuel cut would occur and it would go dangerously lean. Only option is a remap or aftermarket ecu as the std maps don't have the head room.

I'm unsure about the N/A's but can clear up the turbo diff ratio's. R32 GTST runs a 4.363:1 diff ratio. R33 GTST runs a 4.11:1 diff ratio. GTR's run the 4.11:1 diff ratio. I would assume the N/A's will run the lower 4.363:1 diff ratio.
