  1. I think they took note of how badly the AWD Magna flopped. Very similiar to the AU's ugly front end, they quickly changed that, what do Magna go and do.. Make model after model based on the same fugly headlights.
  2. Its easy. Pull the stuff off in order. I don't think I missed anything. Look and analyse, you will then know how bits come off. Harmonic Balancer, use a cheap balancer pull from the local auto shop. Not difficult at all.
  3. The hardcore dudes are probably look at you thinking.. What a top bloke.. get a V8. haha. More than anything it will be your plates. People can't work them out.
  4. I went from a stock exhaust to a full 3", turbo back, highflow cat, resonator, large rear muffler. All straight through. The full exhaust made made the car feel as if it was freeier at low rpm, every where had picked up power/response.
  5. Coolant drained Radiator out Clutch fan out Remove A/C, Pwr steer, alt/water belts Remove Harmonic Balancer Remove CAS Top cam belt cover off Bottom cam belt cover off Loosen tensioner Cam belt off Remove waterpump Install water pump Replace cam belt Set timing If not recently done.......... Check the condition of the tensioner and idler. Possibly replace both (take bearing to CBC and match it up, have them pressed in to the old shell). The money you save not buying new idler/tensioners from Nissan grab an exh. cam gear and drop it in while you are there. Ask around for what to set the cam gear up at, to suit your mods. New cam belt New A/C, Pwr steer, alt/water belts Check pwr steer hoses for leaks, replace if necessary Possibly replace the fuel line hose. Remember to ask for EFI fuel line, not the regular stuff as its not rated to 76.5psi or what ever it is Replace fuel filter
  6. The Ford Foxus 2.5ltr Turbo sounds interestering for a little buzz box.
  7. hows it feel on 7psi? N/A like?
  8. 2530 and a couple of 256-260 sticks in the rb20det will be a nice package. Get that rb20det swallowing the air.
  9. I've just used my trusty gearcalc program. @100km/h in 5th. 225 x 50 x 16" tyres. 4.36:1 Diff - 2782rpm 4.11:1 Diff - 2621rpm 3.9:1 Diff - 2487rpm 3.7:1 Diff - 2360rpm So for myself running a 3.9:1 a drop of 300rpm, the diff needs replacing anyhow. The biggest benifit will be picking up approx 9km/h in second gear and ~13km/h in third. Especially with the rb30det this will be handy. Should I go the 3.7 that will be ~14km/h in second and ~20km/h in third I pick up.
  10. Probably not.
  11. hahah awesome.. See his cheeks, thats where nissan got the idea for the add from.
  12. lol.. Imagine the poor souls with their R32's running a RB30DET's. I'm always reaching for 6th. The tacho is actually a little wrong, the pfc h/c states ~2800rpm for 100km/h. It is still too high though. I will be dropping a S13 3.9:1 diff in mine, there is also available a S13 ~3.7:1. Really depends what you want, I want to keep the 'sports' feel so 3.9:1 is the highest ratio I will go. The VLT has a longer 5th gear, throw a vlt g/box in to the r32.
  13. Nulon total fuel system cleaner I think it was I used to use. was $20 a bottle from memory.
  14. Just off where the top radiator hose connects. You will see two plugs. Disconnect one and see if the dash reads nothing, its obviously the other. From memory the VL's run are the same temp sensor.
  15. Ive had issues with off batches of Mobil. BP is the ultimate for me. Always consistent.
  16. There are 2 coolant temp sensors. One for the dash and one for the ecu. The one for the ecu controls coolant temp injector enrichment. Have it reading cool all the time and it will be fine when the motor is cold but bad when the motor is warm. As you said, a little bit of black smoke on idle. Most likely the afm, but still worth the look if its not.
  17. Also check coolant temp sensor.
  18. Whats the boost curve like? Taper off or hold strong?
  19. I did an o2 diag. with the stock ecu in my r32. It flashes the engine check light as the o2 sensor goes high/low.
  20. Those who have interest in the gt30 rb or vg hybrid. There's a thread floating around where some one had a vg30 turbine housing machined up to suit their gcg highflow. If I remember correctly they went from 240 something rwkw to 270 something rwkw. I plan to do similiar using a GT30 700177-7 CHRA and .6 Comp cover machined up in to the VG30DET/R34 turbine housing. Hopefully push 18-20psi through it. Or... there is also the GT30 700177-14 CHRA that runs the larger comp wheel. The only issue with this is I am unsure if there is a .6 comp cover available for it. I really don't want to run a .7 due to clearance issues.
  21. I vaguely remember Tim telling me around 3years ago that the rb's like a slightly richer mixture through the mid range. 11.5 helps torque he said.
  22. Yer mine wasn't actually dripping just seeping. There was so little oil itl was congealing before it had a chance to drip, inside the bell housing was a mess.
