  3. With the single turbo the existing water lines are attached to the head so they line up with the turbo's that are also attached to the head fine. The oil feed line requirder a little fiddling as it had to be stretched, its all fine though as there was plenty on line to play with. The turbo oil return required a new rubber hose that was a little longer, I assume the same with the gtr. Thats pretty much it suprisingly. My turbo plumbing actually lines up better now than it did prior.
  4. You could simply replace the oil pump, see how it goes. Chances are its not going to affect compression, more so stuff the bearings.
  5. The question is... Why skimp 2 maybe 3 hundred dollars on injectors that have been fiddled with??
  6. Anything that bolts up to the head will be 38mm higher. Anything bolted up to the block will be in the same location. I.e alt. aircon etc.
  7. The search button is your friend. Its well known the Z32 afm is the same 80mm OD size as that of the R33/R32 afm's.
  8. Replace it while you have the motor out and rebuilding it.

  11. $175 is second hand.. $199 new. To install the GTR resistor pack you need to cut and solder it in to the loom. There may be an importer that flogs them off for cheaper.
  12. Its easy enough to make up your own resistor pack. Finding decent high watt (25+) resistors for a decent price is the hard bit. Does any one know what sort of current the injectors would draw?

  14. Depends what he does.. If he works on all the light load etc. Then yes.. a good 2-3hrs for a nice tune.
  15. SK, My subframe bushes are slopping around. I suspect this is my real problem.

  17. I would go a 3" with a large straight through intermediate muffler and a large straight through rear muffler. A good quality muffler will flow extremely well. Its the cheap crap things that have lumps protruding in to the exhaust flow, or like some of the jap mufflers that taper down inside the muffler that cause issues with backpressure. A decent intermediate muffler also prevents cabin drone.
  18. Thats right.. I can't remember the exact calc. 270/444cc rings a bell. It may need a little tweaking, jump in to the sensor check menu and ensure your O2 sensor is flicking back and fourth. If its hanging around rich, adjust the calc to suit. I'm not 100% sure if the GTR injectors are indeed 444cc or the rb20's are 270cc. I've read from a few places the RB20's are actually 260cc's. Either way it will run with the above calc. Find out if the tuner is going to go over the whole map or leave the correct values in and simply tweak. When leaving in the correction values you tend to run out of adjustment when making much more power, + it means you don't get the benifit of tweaking light load afr's and picking up fuel economy. So ensure he removes the correction values and works over the whole map, that is unless the tune is just a tidy up and only costing you 1hr worth of dyno time.
  19. Its near impossible to get GTR injectors with a resistor pack. I'm sourcing some decent 25w 10ohm resistors that i'm going to use to make up a injector resistor box. I will make up a few extra box's to help a few ppls out.
  20. more power but 0-100 times go backwards. My little old RB20DET used to run 0-100 in around 5.2secs, the rb30det making slightly more power gets there in 5.9secs. First gear is completely useless, the 5.9sec 0-100 is launching at 3000rpm in second. Diesel power..
  21. CA18DET injectors are low imp. and ~370cc. They flow roughly the same as a RB25DET injector. From memory I 'think' rb25det injectors tend to max out around the 210-220rwkw mark on std fuel pressure.
  22. For some reason the AP Engineering RB20DET PFC default lag time has been set the same as the GTR injectors. That being .772ms. So don't change a thing.

  24. So basically.. A little can be gained. But it must be done properly and not half arsed. EGT's must be monitored.
