  1. I haven't got an upgraded flywheel. Just means next time I go to replace my clutch I will also be replacing my flywheel as it will have a nice groove out of it.
  2. $250 is a pretty damn good price for the exhaust cam gear + fitting + dyno time and tuning. Who was the workshop that did the job? Best price I've been quoted is $350.
  3. You said fitting? Thats more labour costs. Cheapest Dyno time up this way is around $100 for an hour. Besides the point. I see your point.. haha should be a poet. Exhaust cam gear will return the cheapest gain, especially if you fit it your self and simply get it tweaked on the dyno.
  4. $250 for an exhaust cam gear fitted and tuned? I assume that incudes the purchase of the exhaust cam gear? Mates rates. Exhaust cam gear $180 Dyno time - $110 Fitting Labour 30mins to 1hr - $75 I personally would prefer to get the PowerFC in there ASAP.
  5. A base of 180rwkw... Its going to cost more than $200 to get a 10rwkw gain on top of that. Unless you do a free mod such as gutting your cat. That may pick up 10? An R33 with 180rwkw, The next step is PowerFC or if thats already been done an exhaust cam gear.
  6. depends where that 10kw gain is. 10kw worth of Peak power I wouldn't pay for. 10kw gain through the mid range I would consider. Save the money and put it towards a 30-40kw gain.
  7. Different Tyres (maybe worn and slippery), suspension?
  8. The ceramic clutches do chew through the stock flywheels. Its simply.. Don't ride it. Nice smooth take offs no riding it on hills etc and it will be fine.
  9. Extreem 9puk Ceramic Cushioned with a 1tonne pressure plate. The 800kg pressure plate will also easily hold 223rwkw and be a little lighter on the leg. It really is a nice clutch. Very nice hard grab yet it can still be rode slightly (for a second) before it grabs and gives a couple of slight thumps some times chirping the wheels. Very very streetable. These clutches are getting around in quite a few 300rwkw RB's & 2JZ's. Cost me $600.
  10. hehe they don't work to well when they are sitting inside the house though.
  11. Steve, My thoughts exactly, what made me think there was a restriction some where in the exhaust is the way the curve flattens out in the top end on the high boost setting. The power curve can be influenced by the ramp rate a little, but it still looks a little slow getting on to decent boost. As discopotato once said with this dyno graph... Pumping losses.
  12. Rev matching obviously will use a little more fuel. Not sure how much though. Its supposed to be good for a motor thats just came hard off the throttle (maybe why a lot of dyno operators give the motor a couple of light free rev's after a power run?) as it helps cool things down a little due to the little dump of fuel through the motor.
  13. 370rwhp = 279rwkw. 20rwkw more. What boost levels, any chance of a dyno graph?
  14. A bad exhaust can produce similiar results. Slow spool and flat top end. Would be nice to see some ign maps, to see whats going on.
  15. 12psi is fine on a RB20DET with the stock IC. Be sure that it isn't leaning out. This will require a dyno power run, can be had for as cheap as $35 up to around $50. The arrow points in the direction of airflow. So towards the actuator. Pop the bonnet. There is only 1 hose. Cut it in half and shove the bleeder in the middle. If the hose is a little short (which it will be) grab some more from the auto store and connect it up. Very easy. On the Rb20DET's at least.
  16. Any chance of a few pics taken from the rear or front bumper showing the lines of the car?
  17. lol, The first file listed is an empty file that states?????? !!DOWNLOAD ADOBE v7.0!!30-Mar-2005 00:43 0k !ADOBE_READER_v7.0!.exe 29-Mar-2005 22:09 19.8M FCPRO_PowerExcel.zip 11-Apr-2005 14:20 1023k FC_Edit_Datalogit.zip 11-Apr-2005 14:21 177k R32_All_Engine_Manua..> 29-Mar-2005 22:10 22.7M R32_GTR_Service_Manu..> 29-Mar-2005 23:40 27.2M R33_All_Engine_Manua..> 29-Mar-2005 21:57 23.1M R34_All_Workshop_Jap..> 29-Mar-2005 23:17 48.6M R34_All_Workshop_Man..> 29-Mar-2005 22:07 12.7M RB30_DOHC_Guide.pdf 29-Mar-2005 22:17 324k You need adobe 7. 18. It helps you slow down as in saves your brakes, makes them last longer. Maybe that is what he really means?
  19. Hi ppls, I'm going to do a little experiment on the RB30DET. I need a VG30DET BB exhaust housing or a stuffed VG30DET turbo.
  20. Ash. Would you know if the R33 GTR rims are the same offset. I've seen one set on a R32 GTST, they looked like they sat under the guards, only just. Not sticky outy like the R32 GTR rims I've seen. 32 GTR rims looked illegal to myself, R33 GTR's didn't. Doesn't mean there not illegal though.
  21. Rolling down a hill in neutral will actually increase your fuel bill. The skylines and all new cars have a fuel cut when you are off the throttle and decelerating. This saves fuel. Idling down a hill will only use more fuel. Try this for an experimentation. Use your gears to slow you down always, only use your brakes when your doing around 20km/h. This means you will have to read traffic and drive a little cruiser than normal. Watch how many kays you get out of a tank, I think it will suprise you. I think this is one reason why some only get under 400km's to a tank where others get mid to high 400's.
  22. I agree. The top end when running a little more boost tends to flatten out. Whats the exhaust like he's running?
  23. With the exact same setup on the 3ltr as the 2.6ltr the 3ltr will ALWAYS make the peak power earlier. IF it has maxed out the airflow for a given boost level. What I'm saying is if you want it to make peak power around 7000rpm then setup the motor (cams and exhaust turbine a/r) as if it were an RB26 reving to and making its peak power around 8100rpm. For an RB26 to make peak power up around 8100rpm you will require larger than stock cams, and may need larger exhaust a/r's etc.
