  2. If it comes down to voiding a warranty for mods then she won't mod at all.
  3. Glad you guys are on my side with this one so far! It's like signing a petition here until she chooses!
  4. I think she's looking at around 40-45 for the car. We've only recently started looking, But we don't know anyone here that owns any impreza and I'm not taking a salesman's word for anything so just getting what info I can. For mods I'm assuming she'll want to do pretty much the basics, which is probably just air flow/exhaust. But it's not only the performance of the sti it's also the look of it, both inside and out. I really like the sti interior.
  5. Yes, but don't forget about me! I suppose that's all it would really take though. She loves fast cars, so a drive in a wrx then one in an sti and I'd imagine her desicion is easier for her. For some reason a big selling point to a brand new car is the factory warranty. She wants to have full advantage of the factory warranty for as long as possible. She doesn't really expect to keep the car for more than a few years but who knows. So buying a used car, that's possibly a big part of the warranty already gone.
  6. My girlfriend is looking to buy a new car in a few months and she wants to get a new car but doesn't want to spend the new price for an sti so she's looking at wrx. I'm thinking she should save taking the brand new car hit and buy a used sti. I've never been in a wrx so I'm not sure what they are like, but my friend had an sti and I loved it so I am partial to sti. What do you think? As far as used goes we're looking at 2005+.
  7. Locking nuts will help again theft just as much as any other lock. But, if they really, really want it, then it's breakable. I would get it on mine anyway just for that reason if I had expensive/high chance of theft sort of wheels. I've have my cars messed with too much back home so I am a little protective now.
  8. Honestly, I'm talking about more of the look than anything. I know they can be fast, and I know they are powerful, but when I look at one all I see is a family car with a big engine in it. No dif erent than my mom's Lexus back home! Oh, that and the exhaust is really quiet, even when it's full throttle. I'm just not used to all of that being called a muscle car is all. Anyway, thanks for all of your info so far.
  9. I'm really picky about what parts I put on my cars which is why I want a "stock" one. I know it's expensive but I love buying parts so it's all part of the fun for me. Also I like it to be more of a project rather than just buying a fast car. Stock GTR will beat the V8 family cars here anyway!
  10. I'm pretty much new to everything here, these boards, skylines, and Australia. I have just moved here from California and I was originally going to bring my car with me but the conversion and import fees were too much for me so I couldn't bring it. So I have quickly found a car I like here. Your "Muscle cars" here are sad, even with the giant engines. Anyway, I've done quite a bit of searching and looking through what I could find and I think I have made my choice, R33 GTR. So I am just looking for more R33 GTR specific information, the good and bad, so I know what to look for when I start looking to buy. Thanks!
