i never noticed the difference down low at all when i put an rb20 intake cam on my 25

I dont get why spinning the wheels in 2nd contributed to a spun bearing. Unless you didnt have a rev limit for some reason, even then I would have thought something else would break before a bearing

I am well aware of that I have a 25/30 in my car. Unopened rb30's are worth less than $150. Where is the value in what he is selling being retained as rb25 heads have been going for $400-$500 recently.

So basically you're hoping to sell an rb25 head for like $1200...

maybe use the lower left tensioner point, and then drill and tap a new tensioner at the top on the right instead of the left?

bumpo This is a complete mint RB25 for $600..... Even the head is worth it, especially for RB30 conversion

BUMP This rb25 has water/oil provisions. With a thicker headgasket it can be turbod no problem, or just leave the comp up and enjoy the torquey mid range with 7-10psi.

Hi, I have just put a standard rb25 turbo on a rb25de. It was going great until this weekend when the turbo started whining a lot louder than usual, nothing has changed in performance, just a noticable increase in noise as it spools up. (not induction sound, turbine sound). Now, when I put the turbo on I used the standard oil line (or what I thought was as it lined up pretty close). In one of the banjo fittings, on the inner ring, one of them was kind of filled with a 1mm hole in it, and the other end of the line was just open. Have I used the wrong line for oil? Or is that how the standard rb25 oil line is? Was just thinking maybe I've been starving the bearings with oil... (im running penrite hpr 10 btw) The turbo came off an auto 98' s2 with 90,xxx's so it should be a healthy turbo, wasn't any play and initially sounded fine, and performance wise it's goin hard and have only been running 6-8psi. Tune it before BOTH runs, and you will see, it does bugger all. I know because I had it done on my car. If you just unplug it, the computer will still try to run the engine as though the VCT had hit its change over rpm. Jack
