The cam journal is fed from both sides by a small hole anyway. One hole from the oil gallery. It wouldn't really matter if you didn't feed the vct with oil at all. Jack

I wish they were cheaper I'm still running an rb20 ecu with a realtime board in it. It does everything a powerFC does, minus a hand controller so I guess I can't complain to heavily. But still... lol. I wanna FC

Lol. I don't think a re-tune is required for a bigger fuel tank, and I would say it may affect your driveability after throwing extra weight at the back

Yeah I've read your guide so many times its not funny, but it didn't mention anything about reshaping the water gallery thats why I got confused. It states 'how they need to be modified' and I just assumed that was refering to the mod required to block the VCT oil feed. Cheers anyway, I'm all good now Jack

lol lol lol I have complete understanding of the oil side of things. Someone refered to modifying the 'water' gallery. Or is blocking the vct oil feed and running an external line what they refered to as 'modding the water gallery' If it is then I've obviously had a mis-understanding of what was said, if not then I'm still very lost with the 'water' gallery thing Thanks, Jack

Yeah heaps helpful. I've been looking into and reading about this for months, if I knew the answers I wouldn't have bothered asking... Where exactly in the rb30 guide does it state how/why to modify the water gallery, or why the rb25de head doesnt require an oil feed? Or if it does, how it is done? I apologise if I have missed something obvious, but I am only aware of the mods required to the VCT on the det head.

What needs modifying on the water gallery? And you didn't mention anything about an oil feed to VCT to lube up the cam. I've heard/read too many sides on this. What are you risking by not running oil to it? Why do the 25de non-vct heads not require an oil feed for it? Where do they get their oil? Cheers, Jack

lol. I did this once in the hills. Suddenly my car sounded like a ferarri pinging off its head, I realised what I did, but at the same time got a glimpse of the tacho which was reading just past 9000rpm haha. Didn't do any damage at all to my suprise. Jack -
lol well I won't do it that way. When you said 'your way' I thought you meant you've done it, then you said you wouldn't do it haha. Any other suggestions? Or comments on the above method? Thanks, jack

How? I have an RB30 bottom and 25det head sitting in the garage... I want the cheapest and easiest way of 'joining' them. lol. I only want about 250kw, its the torque I'm after. I don't wanna do any drilling/tapping though. Cheers, Jack

Sorry to hear I know how it feels. Not being big-headed, but my 33 was one of the cleanest I know when I got it. Then some bitch rear ended me not paying attension and my car was declared a write off, but then repaired... don't ask, just cars... It never looked the same from behind especially the bumper, still doesnt sit right with no gaps. Some may remember my pics I posted? Jack
