I've done that on 14 pounds lol. About a week after my FMIC went on, those cheap shitty hose clamps snapped and blew the alloy pipe out of the silcon joiner. Scared the shit outa me, thought i cracked the block or head or something haha.

Not far from marion, don't wanna openly say the suburb on a forum because of my cars safety lol. But yeah I'd be keen as to try that. Only prob is I need two coil packs now as well though. Cheers, Jack

Guess I'll owe somebody a coilpack then lol. It's gotta be the ECU. There's nothing else in the circuit. Unless it's a loom. But I've tested the coil loom and the loom between the coil loom and ecu with a multimeter and nothing is shorting anywhere. Smart idea just sprung to mind as I wrote that. I should test the signal wire for coil #6 and see whether it's stuck on, cause I reckon thats the problem. It should be pulsing, and instead it may have become stuck on cause the transistor in the top of the coil pack to overheat and pop. Jack

I've seen this car around, looks hot. Its distinct so will keep an eye out. Can't believe how many R33's are stolen these days. Makes me scared. Although mine secretly will take a little more effort to get going. But still, they must be fair easy to break into and hot wire! Although having said that I've had all my ignition wiring out when I was screwing around with fuel pumps, and although its all black, it is easy to work out which wire is doing what. And with imobilisers under there too, its even easier to pin point the ignition wiring.

Thanks heaps for the replies fellas. So does that mean I want to buy a S2 computer then? Only problem is, my mate came over last night in his S2 R33..... and...... his setup is different again! He has an 8-pin and a 2-pin plug just before the coils loom. However it appears that at the end of the 2-pin plug, there is just a small plastic box with the symbol on it discribing it as a small capacitor? From memory it was 0.47uf. There is a black and white cable going to this, so I can't work that out!! I only have an 8-pin plug to the coil loom. If anybody in SA has a spare S2 ecu and 2 S2 coilpacks they can trial in my car it would be very greatly appriciated! Cheers, jack

I have the exact same sticker. And my car has always run kinda rough. Like jerky on boost. I just blamed the coils and ignored it. However yesterday my ECU shat itself, so I have the opportunity for a new one. Only thing is, I have no idea weather my car is a series 1, 1.5, 2 or what. lol. It's the most hybrid R33 you'll find. It's even got GTR parts lol. So here's the story, its a series 1.5 I beleive, made in DEC 95. Has S2 spoiler n stuff like that. Airbags etc. Just stuff series 1's don't. But what's confused me is that there is no igniter box in the engine bay, so this means it's runnin series 2 coils yes? So does that mean its been converted, or it was made with a S2 drivetrain? Basically, I need to know whether I should order a S1 or S2 stand alone aftermarket ecu or are the ECU's the same? Cheers, Jack

I dont see why it would be the harness. And I need 2 coil packs anyway and that'll prob be like $100 and then they will probably just blow again! lol. Cheers anyway, Jack

The igniter is built into each indiviual coil pack not the harness. It might be worth trying your harness though just incase my wiring has become faulty or lose, shorting or whateva. Only thing is, I don't want to 'trial and error' the problem too much, obviously because every time I turn the ignition on with a coilpack plugged into cyl #6 it fries. Thanks, Jack

Do the gtr coils fit or are they for rb26? Either way, there is no point yet as the problem needs to be diagnosed. My bet is on the ECU? Help ppl... please!!! lol. What else lies between the coil packs and ECU on a S2 rb25? I can't think of anything which is why my bets on a fried ECU. So who here has auto-electrical certificates

Urrr... change of plan, I know longer need the coilpack. New plan... I need someone with great electrical knowledge and ideas. Every coilpack plugged into cyl #6 goes 'pooof'. Quite literally. I dont know wtf is causing this. Standard coils, standard ECU, S2 RB25det. If anybody here is an auto-electrician and wanna earn some $$$$, then let me kno lol Cheers, Jack
