a mates ute has gone over 1 million k's, think its already up to 400,000 or something like that, was his dads old work ute that he had been travelling to and from sydney every day since 1985 when he bought it new till a couple of years ago, runs on gas, has had 2 engine rebuilds, gearbox rebuild, and had the oil, filter and plugs changed every 10,000 religiously, still going like it came out of the factory.

If You Were To Buy Track Day Wheels/tyres
weeman1 replied to mikel's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
^^what do you mean by different sizes? 16" front 17" rear? or are you talking about the width of the rim? can i ask why for either -
what temperature is the 5.1 stuff usually rated at on average, thats what i have in my car, i took it down to wakefield on the weekend and once i got used to the track i started really using the brakes. after about 3-5 laps, cant remember, my brake pedel started going right to the floor cause i over heated the brake fluid. now im after a higher boiling point fluid so might try that lucas stuff. just wondering cause i must have heated the fluid up heaps for that to happen with that grade fluid would love to hear what you guys have to say
-
damn, id be keen but going down to the snow that night. you deffinatley need a full tank of fuel, i went thru a whole tank last weekend when i was there, had to fill up half way thru the day. best fun ever tho

260rwkw First Time Drag Techniques
weeman1 replied to BaysideBlue's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
sorry to hijack the thread a bit, but what if you have a clutch that doesn't allow for slip, im running roughly 200rwks on 225 toyo's. what would the best rpm to launch and how should i control the accelerator. my fastest 60 ft so far is 2.23 but i know it can be faster, i just cant seem to get the traction off the line any pointers would be much appreciated cheers -
yeh i saw a few fellas pulled over on my way out, i left about 9:45 tho, i just took it easy leaving, no problems the two highway patrols were eyeing me off as i was going around the round about tho, lol i just stared back
-

-
who ended up going last night, i went, was great. best time i got was a 14.2 @102mph with a 0.23 reaction time
-
maybe your oil is a bit low, i was getting a knock upon cold morning start ups, checked the oil and noticed it was extremely low (below the empty mark lol). i just topped it up and all is good
-

-

was that near the new set of lights, my mate said he saw them there on saturday night too, had a few cars pulled over. what colour is your skyline, ill have to keep an eye out for ya. i drive a maroon 33, if you see me do these ones lol EDIT: if your car is black i think you waved to me last week sometime, i was heading into toukley just near the primary schools, you were heading towards the roundabout. would have been wednesday arvo around 4 o'clock
-
spotted a white 33 on saturday night cruising in newi. rain makes driving fun lol, he waved so i tried to wave back at the same time i was turning and changing gears, was a pretty awkward wave. spotted a couple of other skylines in there aswell. btw i was the maroon coloured 33 with the 32 rims on it

how do you get the wakefield day licence, do you just get it on the day, also is there a limit to how many cars can be there on the day
-
its weird tho cause it only seems to do it in third, meh,
-
lol i got no idea, i was just wondering if it was the same thing mine does, i thought it might have something to do with mine having a nismo GMAX twin plate clutch and a short shifter, but generally if i know its going to be revving under 2000 in third ill change down to second (unless im feeling lazy) it doesn't seem to affect the cars performance at all so im not really worried about it. hopefully someone else knows if its bad or not
