  1. I disagree, should I have had one installed on my last engine the clutch kick that aided in the splitting of my engine mount, allowing the engine to lift to the point of ripping off my boost controller and free boosting, kissing goodbye to the engine all could have possibly been drastically reduced with fitment off this unit. That being said in daily usage, one mightent perhaps do the above and have the same result.
  2. any west ppl heading over to this?
  3. might come down, unless its too damn cold outside...
  4. pics of manifold and gate? and better pics of turbo?
  5. Dont know if I can make this one. I'll see how I go. If not I hope you have a great turnout as its an awesome days for a cruise.
  6. ..anything with an andriod kit....
  7. Phew...turn vehicle off, slot her in...
  8. ah lets just say I met a "fellow" 33 owner (silver series2, bit piggy minus front number plate, and you know who you are) after he nearly made contact with my rear when he lost it. Something I really didnt find funny at the time, having a sook...hardly. But boy did he show me, his driving skills.... Chances are I would notice another 33 without it loosing it behind me. Meh, I dont know maybe its the plates...seems to attract em. On another note Paul, am very sorry to hear of your loss...although you were having trouble finding it...wasnt that clutch related tho? A complete loss could indicate $$$$
  9. Cant say I have seen the guy again,(something I"m actually quite happy about) however after his 360 behind me I have no doubt the onset of rain will most def result in more than just the number plate missing on his front bar...last seen headed deer park way...bringing a whole new meaning to drive it like you stole it....hmm it was deer park....maybe it was hahaha
  10. Nice to meet everyone who attended. Boy were the 33's out in force...
  11. "drags and drifting off for the month of april due to works and improvements to the drag strip" as texted by calder today.
  12. thought I might come down for this one....I'll cruise past later on....
  13. Is it re-mapped? if so please pm me with tuner? Thanks
  14. Jackman, dont mean to sound paranoid, but you have just advertised the make of your alarm, your working hours and possible securing device to re-fit your front bar. At least the guys who tried to steal it, should they read the boards...will know what tools to bring I guess.
  15. Well I'm in air con hell atm, mine has packed it in on a 40 odd degree day mind you, I shouldnt complain, its in an 84 model n12 exa...and rare at best) After calling a recommended(by a friend) air con specialist he replied that hychill is shit, runs dry, is flammable and will kill my brand new compressor in no time. yep, it does appear that this particular air con place loves hychill to bits. So not only do I need a new compressor, tx valve(apparently this is what it needs as the system keeps freezing up, and will let out a mist if the outside termp drops a few degress dramatically), regass and to find someone that will install this stuff asap, I'm hot as hell whist trying...
  16. I guess the only plus to these inline restrictors is the are undetectable by the popo. But hang on dont nissan already use them???
  17. Running remap in my ca, and it shits all over the microtech and haltech(sorry to their lovers) but my ca has been transformed with the removal of the aftermarket computer and the re-install of Std computer. So as a rebroad minded person of this, you could say I'm a bit bias. Also have re programmable, re mapped std ecu going into my fully built rb25 in my r33, tuned in real time of course. And finally when I finish breaking the balls of my tuner...Im going re-map on the e15et...in my n12 daily...so If you read this SAM * hurry up* So I guess I am a huge fan of the remap.
  18. I do know too well what it is like when a family member has a motor vehicle accident and your unsure of their exact status. Your mind is racing thinking all sorts of things, your concentration in impaired, naturally you want to get there quicker, and this can result in chances being taken that you perhaps wouldnt normally. But in speeding as you did and being pulled over you actually made it to your destination no quicker than you would have actually doing the speed limit. You have put others at risk in travelling over the speed limit, for what ever reason potentially risked youself being involved in an accident as well. Speeding to get to a family member involved in an accident puts you at higher risk of landing in the bed next to them. Asking a friend to drive , or catching a taxi can sometimes be a safer option, and can also leave the hands free to phone hospital/relatives/those involved etc etc. I hope it works out for you, and hope that everything is ok with your mum.
  19. Its a absolute horrible thing to have happened. But as long as there are cars, accelerators and drivers it seems things like this will continue to happen. I wished there was a simple solution. I really dont think the solution lies in taking away anything from younger drivers as most at that age tend to think they are above any rules and regulations. And could have a adverse affect. I live in the area and will admit I was a little peeved (i hope this doesnt sound rude)that the area was all patitioned off well after the accident. And I dont know why it was? Does anyone know? I think things like this, although they might be nasty might make motorists travelling past think twice, and if it aids only one to step off the gas thats a good thing. I would love to see the legal driving age decreased and mandatory extensive driver training for all those at the driving age, as well as an hours/experiance based lic system. Perhaps if they experianced loss of control, you know that one that makes your heart skip a little beat or too in a more controlled environment they might think twice before they attempt to drive beyond their limits. I will admit I was horrible on the roads for many years when I was younger and to this day I cant tell you why, however after seeing first hand the spinal unit at PA hospital and the struggles people faced after road trauma, Im happy to putt putt along and save the fun for the track...nothing beats the adrenalin rush of the track. Maybe thats half the problem most of these kids have never been to the track, instead they whinge about it being too far or too expensive...what cost is greater than that of a life?
  20. How are your cam cover gaskets? Is ther evidence of them leaking? Have you cleaned the coilpacks and boots? Its not happening immediately, so It could be after its built up over time
  21. GTST - You must be rapt with that result... I would have guessed only 140 kw without the undie support, merely a sport short... We did witness the massive smile on your face whilst you were running.... Are you sure you didn't have the temp sensor in the wrong hole? Have noticed those who get higher readings usually do smile more, and the common mistake seems to be something to do with probe, i mean sensor, location...
  22. Is the ecu stock? Have you checked for a jap re-map?
  23. It just seems weird to me that all oem vehicles since the early 1990's come std with factory fitted bovs..I guess they like the wank factor and have no justification for them whatsoever. I'm sure they actually have put in substancial r + d into this prior to the added expense of fitment and supply on their vehicles. However sadly I cant confirm the exact reason, I can only speculate from what I have seen and tried with my cars and my garrett dramas. Im not saying no bov causes premature turbo failure, on its own, but perhaps when consistancies are appearing in these failures that has to mean something. Are the thrusts unable to cope with the added surge, that maybe the 360o thrusts cope better with? Are those running a bov still experiancing the same failure and symptoms?
  24. ok so it doesnt mean much to you, but I was simply replying to what I believe might be one of the contributing factors as to why these units are failing...which is the original question, so I think it might matter to salad. I'm certainly not worried, I have tried turbos from gcg, garrett, nissan and I will never install another garrett/or garrett supplied unit on any of my vehicles, but this thread wasnt about me.
  25. But im wondering here, if your vehicle is engineered with one intake mod, its completely passed. Can you then have your one intake mod after the engineered one? And fight it on a technicality?
