  1. Number of car issues Cassbo has ever had = 1 Number of car issues you two have had = lol
  2. Not everyone is like that
  3. I thought you put your car into a guard rail 2 or 3 weeks ago?
  4. Sounds like GimpyDamnit

    Rage!

That rod probably isn't the only thing that is bent... check your lower control arm, castor rod and castor rod bracket. Assuming that there is no paint work required and you can swing a spanner, I'd say you'd easily be able to repair that for under $1300
  6. It isn't us that mind the noise, it's the people in the housing near by
  7. As long as it isn't too loud anything can enter
  8. I might pop around as it is pretty damn local to me, doubtful the Riceline will be running by then To bad it isn't a 4WD dyno, keen to see how little power the Subie puts out
  9. So... where do you draw the line in the sand? 10km/h over the speed limit is ok? Lets just say that the RTA decide to go "lol, you're right, no one should get booked for only doing 10km/h over the speed limit! What we will do is increase all speed zones so everyone can live in a speeding fine free utopia! "... will it still be OK to do the extra 10km/h over the changed speed limit? The RTA drew the line in the sand, whether or not that line is well justified it is still a line that if you cross there may be consequences. Maybe you won't get caught. Maybe you will and get a fine and lose some points. Maybe you will lose your licence. Maybe you won't get caught but will damage your car. Maybe you will injure yourself. Maybe you will injure someone else.
  10. I read somewhere here that very early R34s ran a non-NEO RB25, ie the same engine that was chucked into the late model R33s. I take this with a grain of salt though, as I have never seen a non-NEO RB25 equiped R34 before (not that I have seen a lot of R34s in the first place ) Other than that I believe there was the factory option Nismo body kit but that would be about it I think.
  11. Joel said a NICE s2 33. Doesn't fit the description of my nugget!
  12. Personally I think it needs more GT-R wing and less phone camera. Otherwise it looks phat!
  13. So in that regard a V36 350GT that has the same engine as a V35 350GT but is neither listed on the website OR the vehicle list is perfectly legal! The RTA go and make you fill out a billion official documents just so you can be considered legal, surely they have the same amount for the things that are considered illegal. I'l like to see how "but it's on the website" holds up in a court "laugh" idungeddit
  14. There seems to be a massive grey area with the Z34, V35 and V36. On the RTA website they are listed as examples of prohibited vehicles http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/licensing/downlo...itions_dl1.html , but on the actual list no mention is made http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/licensing/downlo...ered_6_list.pdf . The list itself hasn't been updated sinse like 2007! EDIT AFAIK, whatever the RTA put in their documents and on their website doesn't mean anything unless it is actually written into the legislation. If it isn't in the legislation then it isn't law
  15. If that is the case it makes pretty good sense Might take it off this weekend, I don't expect the car to change at all... the only time I have had issues with charcoal canisters is when the purge control solenoid on my old Subaru shat itself, essentially jamming it open so the canister was venting to the throttle body all the time... made it idle like a pig in summer
  16. Ever since I purchased my R33 GTS-t way back in July 2007 I have been pondering why my car has the factory charcoal canister as well as an aftermarket item hooked up in series with it. Aftermarket item is located on the strut tower near the power steering fluid reservoir. After looking at many other Ricelines I have come to the conclusion that my Riceline appears to be the only one like this. Why would another item be installed? Should I remove the extra charcoal canister? Should I leave it in so if I get asked to pop the bonnet I can say "Look! Two charcoal canisters! I care for the environment in my mid '90s turbocharged sports car 'n' shit! True story!" I would supply pics, but being at work and the car being at home it isn't possible Personally, I don't think it needs to be there so I may remove it for the extra 200g weight reduction. Thanks Cass EDIT The plot thickens... Found a (poor) photo of my engine bay on facebook To me it looks like it is hooked up in parallel and not in series like I originally said...
  17. While petty, the officer isn't wrong for pinning you for obscuring your P plate. There are a few options you can do to prevent this happening again. 1. Magnetic number plates on the boot lid 2. Buy/make a P plate holder that comes under the number plate 3. Cable tie the P plate to the number plate (I did this on my Ps, be warned though, the P plate will only last a month or so before it breaks off )
  18. I was pulled over for a RBT in Parramatta once. The officer said I had awesome number plates. True story!
  19. A black series 2 R33 GTS-t followed me home from Warriewood along Mona Vale Rd this evening. He waved at a red R34 GT as well so he might actually be on here
  20. Using the theory that a leaking exhaust flows better than one with no leaks?
  21. If I can't get a hold of some proper gaskets today that's the path I'll be going down
  22. I'm going to play devil's advocate for a moment and quote an email I received from Drummond Motorsport when I enquired about their coilovers I read this as "for optimum performance, you should lower your car by 20mm at most" which makes the 50mm amount seem pretty reasonable. I still think it's a bad idea. Last year I went camping in Victoria and drove my R33 down packed to the bullshit with a friend... with a combination of this legislation, the additional weight inside the car, the compliance of my standard springs and the sag of my 14 year old standard springs could very well drop my car into defect territory! Still, I think it would be difficult to enforce... the enforcer would have to have a book that covers ever single make, model and badge/trim level... that will be a MASSIVE book
  23. Need to find some gaskets first. I'm not like my brother and can tolerate driving around without exhaust gaskets for any longer than the time it takes me to drive around the block
  24. I have a 3.5" turbo back sitting at home. Once I find some gaskets to suit I'll be fitting it myself. Unlike my swaybar installation, I might actually jack the car up this time
  25. Don't know, I wasn't there on that date. Both of those photos were taken mid/late 2009 on either the SAU OP GP day or an AUTOSports OP GP day.
