Well weekend after this one (April 10th - 13th) is a drift day at Oran Park, north circuit. Skylines aren't seen much at these days, but majority of cars are Japanese (RSP13, S14, AE86, KE70, the odd A31 ect ect)
Thinking about attending it to see what my Stagea wheels can do. Hopefully in 3rd gear I can burn tyres and not clutch
My car isn't exactly speedy there either, takes a while to get to my peak 180-190km/h
Well Ando and Chubbs, looks like you are going to miss out on cake
So who is still going?
Weather forecast is... lol
18 / 23°C 90% chance for 1-5mm rain
I imagine Chubbs and Ando are out because they are going to Marulan the next day
Spotted a silverish (I dunno... looked like it had a bit of blue there too...) V35 On Pennant Hills round around 7PM on Thursday. Had Infiniti badges and everything
So it was you honking at me. Was on the way to Goulburn for super happy fun Wakie time
The MX-5 behind me was also going to Wakie, factory 1.8L turbo, factory Bilstein suspension, semis on Volk Mazdaspeed rims, Sparco seat with Monza harness... still slow
I wish I was paid to think of amazing ideas like this! I would be rolling in it!
I would like to know why the term "gas guzzling old cars" was used. I mean by all means remove old, unroadworthy cars off the street, but I'll eat all my items of clothing when a 10 year old Corolla "guzzles more gas" than something along the lines of a brand new Commodore SS.
So my estimate of around 1'45" is a little... ummm... conservative?
Well if the goal is to beat the Miatafail's time than I will certainly try to do it. Don't think it will happen though, not with street rubber and boat spec suspension
I put my name down, definitely want as many runs at OP before I can't
Just curious at what times I should expect. First time at Oran Park not drifting, with a stock car except for seat and harness
I very much hope that a John Bowe F6 is a little more than a throttle body, air box and some stickers...
If I put some Jun stuff on my car does it make it a Jun Super Lemon?
Well... the choice is yours. Crowded, aggro Sydney or redneck Hicksville. Personally, I'd live in Hicksville if it weren't for a 10 min drive to work for me
Definitely live in Hicksville before Melbourne
I know prescott06/shinysilverdragon's 180SX is back up and running at 177rwkWs @ 14 psi, with a VERY linear curve. I think they will be there, but I don't think my car will outpace their's on the straight any more!
I agree, especially when you think about people who are made famous by motor sport and when they started controlling vehicles.
Besides, the whole idea is impractical. We have a skill shortage right? How is a kid starting an apprenticeship going to get a job when he can't get himself from one job to another?
Personally, I think they need to rethink the testing. At the moment it tests your ability to obey the road rules and to reverse park. While that's all well and good, it doesn't test your ability to drive.
Went and picked this up from Wolverine, he insisted he install it then and there, to make sure it would fit. Shortly after, stopper was in, cash exchanged and I was on my way
I think I have noticed a difference on the street, can't say for certain though. This week I'm getting new pads and my rotors machined, the later in the month going to Wakefield. That is when the real testing shall be done
Also, it is interesting that the R33 SII brake cylinder sits further forward than the SI/1.5.
