I'm not going to go into the finer details on a public forum on what happened that night but it was a combination of McCarrs Creek Road, a concrete block and stopping rather suddenly. Broke my front passenger side rim, passenger side tie rod end, passenger side castor rod, front passenger side lower control arm, front bar and side mount intercooler. So far the total cost to me has been $2522 and about a weekend and a half of my time, and my front bar is yet to be painted (I got a second hand one) I have come to realise that if anything one should not skimp on tyres and brakes. My tyres and brakes where fine when this happened, but if they had not been the damage would have been multiplied significantly.

Spotted a random purple R33 GT-R with stock rims and a SAU sticker on the front bar on the way to Mount Kuring-Gai today. Even saw mr moo himself driving it.

If there is a pipe in the way of the stock air box snorkle, that pipe won't be used for the stock side mount. So chances are to put a stock cooler back on you might need to take off your front mount piping. Other than that, taking off/putting on the stock side mount intercooler is really easy. I found that taking the front bar and front passenger wheel off gave me heaps of room to do it, but I don't think its necessary. I have some pictures that show where its located. Picture isn't too good because of the glare, but its pretty much under the passenger side headlight. From the front. From the rear. I think your biggest problem might be finding out that your front mount was installed in such a way that the reinfocement for the front car has been cut to accomodate said FMIC, and slapping a SMIC in there will make this very obvious. Though it all depends on your setup.

Surprise Official Sau Mid Year Dyno Day 16 August

Unfortunately not, its just my dad's standard 4.2L turbo deisel. I don't think it will produce the most power, but I'm sure the torque curve will be hard to beat -
http://www.nengun.com/rays-engineering/centre-caps Might not have the same style, but they sell new centre caps for Volk Rays wheels

Surprise Official Sau Mid Year Dyno Day 16 August

Would one be able to fit a LandCruiser on the dyno? Its around 1.8m tall and I'm pretty sure one doesn't want hectic roof scrubbage -
This is how I reset the ECU on my Subaru. I image the same will work. Its not the proper way to do it, but its by far the simplest. Its the simplest because I don't remember the other way. How to reset the ECU, battery dance styles. NOTE: Do this on a "cold" engine. Leave it sit overnight and do it in the morning. 1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal cable for 45-60 minutes. 2. Reconnect the negative battery terminal cable. 3. Turn off all your accessories. 4. Start the car, but DO NOT touch the throttle at all. 5. Let the car idle for 10-15 minutes, or until the car is at normal operating temperature. Again, do not touch the throttle. 6. Turn the ignition key to the "OFF" position. That's it.

bring both! -
CAMS L2S/L2NS application form Print it out, fill it out and send it to them. Takes a couple weeks from memory to get it so do it sooner rather than later if you do it this way. This is what I did for Wakefield. Either that or fill it out, bring it to Texi and get a SAU Exec to sign it. You'll get a temporary CAMS licence while you wait for the real one to come in the mail.

I'm interested in giving my car a good thrashing

My dad says thats how he did it on the old R31 we had. It just involves pulling apart the centre console, removing the boot and pouring it in from there. Not to way to do it if you have a habbit of getting oil everywhere... like me I'm going to change my gearbox oil this weekend (I think) so I'll take pics if I decide to do it from inside the car
-
That was us! You didn't happen to drive that black R33 with the GT-R wing? I'll send you a PM in a moment...

If only you knew how much of a conversation topic you make in the Member's section I love Brumbys. I wanted to put a EJ20T in one at one stage You should aim for a R31 GTS-X (if they come naturally aspirated...) 2 door R31, you don't see them everyday and they definitely look mean... in my opinion... which matters heaps on the interwebz eh? EDIT By they way, this afternoon I spent $86.74 on 53.25L of fuel. Oddometer read something like 490ish. It has been one of my heavier weeks after doing the "ground your boost solenoid" mod, but I'm comfortable with that economy

Car is completely stock except for wheels. 400kms is around 45L ish for me give or take a few, depending how much I use the power. 200kms of this is done cruising on the freeway once a week, and the drive to work is 10 mins with 3 traffic lights that are rarely red, and because this drive is so short I do my best not to get on boost. Things get quite efficient (and borning might I add lol) when you drive like this. Granted $60 is probably a little bit lean these days. Tomorrow when I buy fuel I'll re-evaluate

You always have problems viewing my photos that I link from Facebook. BTW, they be on facebook! You can see them there!

I'm a little confused... to save myself from calling you a lair I'm going to assume you are in year 10, about to turn 16, get your Ls and are aiming to buy a Skyline by the time you get your Ps? I have to say I like the way you have set yourself a goal (if my assumptions are correct, if not I wish you a world of pain rofl) Earn as much as you can, spend as little as possible (while still spending enough to have fun lol) and you might just be able to swing a cheap R32 by the time you get to year 12. Be warned though, you will be buying a then 20 year old car at least. Might be a little more expensive to maintain as well as hard to find one in good condition to begin with.

Some crap photos I took on the day with my crap phone... OH HAI EEVIL WEEVIL!!!111!1ty 80 Series LolCruiser

+1 to this A performance car was and never will be intended to be cheap to own. Seeing as your still in school I would be safe to assume you don't have a full time job, if a job at all? I'd be getting a cheap EFI car, preferably Toyota, and drive that around untill you get your full licence and/or it breaks and leaves you without a car. A R31 falls into this catagory. Here is a rough estimate on what it will cost you in the first year. $5000 - Initial outlay of cash for Skyline, varies for age, condition, body type, transmission and turbo or lack there of. $150 - Stamp duty on said Skyline. Its (I think) 3% of the purchace price of the car $3000/year - Full Comprehensive Insurance. Why full comp? Because if you crash your car you won't be able to replace it straight away. And yes, it could possibly cost you $3000 for the year. You could skimp and get 3rd party, but don't go thinking you don't need insurance at all. Can you afford fixing the damage on someone else's car as well as your own? I can't $600/year - Tyres. Depending on how you drive you will go through a set of tyres every 12 months. You will put decent tyres on your car. If you can't afford it by a cheaper car. $60/week = $3120/year - Fuel. This varies on how you drive and how far you drive. I drive fairly conservativly and around 400kms a week so this is what I aim for in my budgeting. $90/quarter = $360/year - General maintanace, ie, filters and oil. A performance car will require an oil change more often than an average car. It is also recommended you use a higher quality oil. This price is assuming you do it yourself. $2000/year - Unforseen things. Cars break. Sometimes you can prevent it, sometimes it just sneaks up on you. The cost of this is really unknown, but I'd allow a minimum of $2k to save you from trouble. That brings to a cost of $14230 from the day you buy it to the same day the following year. This doesn't include speeding fines, defects to clear, insurance excesses, time taken away from you because of your car and I guarantee I forgot something. I certainly didn't take into account money spent hanging out with mates, existing hobbies and various non car costs you may have. I left school after year 12, became an apprentice electrician and I saved up for 3 and a half years before I got enough money to fund my Skyline with enough money on the side in case all hell broke loose and I needed it. It then took me another 3 months of umming and aahhhing to actually go looking for one. Eventually I bought one and I'm glad I did. But I made sure it wouldn't send me broke. In the end, the final desision is yours. I really do hope you can fund an R32 while your still at school. I could only fund a R31 Wagon while I was at school but that was enough for me. I tell you now though, you will want to have one hell of a part time job to fund it otherwise your going to have to sell your car just to get by, and you rarely recoup costs on a car.

Usually don't have music on in my car, I just listen to everything working. Which in a stock car means all I hear is road noise usually lol. There are times I listen to music in my car though, most of the time its bogan rock (Cold Chisel, ACDC, Angels, Choirboys... you get the picture) then sometimes it changes to metal/industrial. Most recent music I've played in my car is Slipknot

My employer doesn't like giving less than 2 weeks notice for taking leave, otherwise I'd go in a heart beat
