  1. McRTA LICENCE - PROVISIONAL P1/P2 Driver fail to comply with conditions of licence - Drive prohibited vehicle $397 + 7 points
  2. Now? You mean there was a time they weren't targetted? The legalities of you driving a turbocharged car is purely determined by when you got your red Ps. If you got them before the laws came in, then you are able to drive one legally. If you got them after, which I'm going to guess is far more likely, then your not able to drive one legally, unless you do a RD30 conversion and put a deisel engine in your car, which lests face it no one is going to do. Your cheapest option would be to keep what you have until you get your full licence then get something. You might even be able to get something a little better around that time
  3. Motormouth can tell you where cheap fuel is, but they don't do all servos... In the Northern Beaches/North Shore area the cheapest is at Caltex/Woolworths at Beacon Hill for $1.479/L (for Vortex 95 anyways) and they do sell 98 there. The servo I go to in Belrose always has the same price as Beacon Hill, but I'm guessing that would still be a massive detour for yourself lol
  4. There is a gun metal R32 GTS-t (I think, it says GTS25 on the back but has 5 stud wheels...) parked up the road from me. Plates BAL-54G. Green Ps. Love your rims mate
  5. When my dad started to work for Caltex as a truck driver he got a special Star card that entitled him to about 60L of fuel a month (if my memory is good, which it probably isn't...). This was back when fuel cost the outlandish price of $0.60/L though, so it was a little bit of a joke. Was even more of a joke when they stopped offering it.
  6. I'd be able to scrape by that if I only drove to work and home and took it veeery easy yay 8-15 min drive to work Here is some stuff I found on "Australian Friends of Ethanol" (I would of chosen a better name...) I've put my thoughts in blue. They might not be right though lol Higher Octane Ethanol has a higher octane rating which is why it is used in high performance fuels. When 10% ethanol is added to unleaded petrol it will raise the octane rating from 92 to 95. Thats all well and good but I want 98 octane! Better Combustion Ethanol contains 35% oxygen and when blended with petrol (E10) results in a more even and complete combustion of the fuels. Ethanol blended with unleaded petrol will also reduce knocking or pinging in the motor which provides better performance and helps the motor run more smoothly. More oxygen? Lead to pre-detonation? Or is that the same thing as kocking/pinging? lol Cleaner Engines Because ethanol blended fuel burns more completely and cleanly your motor will accumulate less carbon deposits than from unleaded petrol without ethanol. Continued use of E10 fuel will help to clean up your motor and fuel system due to its cleaning characteristics. As I said before, clog up a fuel filter. Thats just the filter doing its job, simply change the filter and its sorted Fuel Economy Fuel economy is affected by many variables. Carburetted vehicles that run rich will experience an increase in fuel economy when using E10. Tests on fuel-injected vehicles suggest that fuel economy may fall by around 2%. (2) This would result in fuel economy falling from 10 litres per 100km to 10.2 litres per 100km, a difference that would not be detected by the average driver. I'm concerned about high(er) performance cars and how their owners drive them. We aren't exactly average lol Car Warranty The Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FDAI) has indicated that manufacturers new car vehicle warranties would support an ethanol level in petrol of up to 10%. Doesn't affect us and our 6-20 year old cars, but I guess its nice to know that car manufacturers say that it doesn't void warranty
  7. There is the concern that it will eat fuel lines not designed for ethanol. Other than that it may cause your fuel filter to get clogged up faster than usual because A. Corroding fuel lines and B. Ethanol has a kind of cleansing effect (though I learnt this from the internet where everything is true!). Other than that I would say it would be fine to put in a car... but I admit I've only put it in my Subaru because the servo I was at was selling a 95 octane ethanol blend cheaper than a 91 octane... and we all know how much I love my Subie . I'd consider ethanol if it came in 98 octane or higher... Yesterday I put Vortex 98 in my car. It didn't seem like they where running short, and the price was $1.419 (says my receipt). But seriously, who knows whats going on? I'm going to blame it on the rain
  8. It probably either bypasses the blocked arteries/veins around the heart that feed blood to the actual muscle, or the arteries/veins to the heart that the blood comes in on to be pumped through. Although, I'm no doctor either, I could be just talking shit  Glad to hear that your dad is OK . All my dad has had to go through in this reguard is he had a hole in his heart between the two ventricles, had it since birth (and is unfortunately genetic lol). Last year he had an opperation where they blocked it back up with something that works along the same lines as a pop rivet. Also, the whole thing of "never smoked/drank/always ate right/excercised" I find doesn't stop heart attacks, strokes and such things from happening. Just when it does happen to you its more of a warning rather than you become straight up dead. Thats the way I like to look at it anyways... Great, now I'm thinking about the Hungry Jacks I had for dinner EDIT: I ment lunch... but this doesn't rule out dinner I suppose...
  9. Saw a silver Stag near Skyline shops (no joke ) around 5:30pm yesterday
  10. The place I work at almost always wants apprentices, electrical or sheet metal. I'll send you a PM on details
  11. 1991 Subaru Liberty - $3500 ONO Linky
  12. 1. To be honest I don't see my car being anything particularly special except that it drives safer than any other car I've been in. It sticks to the road like faecal matter to an infants blanket, and when it does break loose its pretty predictable. It is fast... but lets face it, most Skylines are modified so my car would be one of the slower ones 2. Absolutely. I saved up for my Skyline for about 2.5 years on Electrical Apprentice wages, got about $25,000 in the bank and bought a car with that money with enough to spare if things really went to shit. 3. I don't go cruising around Cambletown often, if at all so can't help you much in that department. 4. If you want, but I suggest you wait until you get a car and your Ps. Most club events are cruises and track events, and most club benefits are for cheap(er) car parts. Though, if your really set on becoming a member, it is a enthusiasts club, not a drivers or owners club, so your welcome to
  13. You know you own a Skyline when you stop calling them Skylines. For example... Nice 33 Series 2 Nice 32 with GT-R bar Why would you do THAT to a 31?
  14. Punchin is for poofs. Kicking is where its at. I really should start Tae Kwon Do again... Though come to think of it... where is this "Maquarie Kickboxing" located Liz? Kickboxing has always intrigued me, probably because I always think of it as Tae Kwon Do on ROIDS...
  15. That thing was great! I can't believe he took the old road... I was all like "the stones and the twigs and the trees and the child and the car sickness and the pain and the glaiven" Anyone have a spare $100k lying around... I want one too
  16. Saw this white R33 GTS-t at Chatswood carpark tonight, and this red thing decided to just ring in to my photo!
  17. up until I was around 5, I had an obsession with Toyota LandCruisers. Before I get flamed too hard I did grow in the bush on a farm. After that, my parents bought a '88 Skyline GX Wagon, and my obsession fell to Skylines for a little while... when I turned 7, I got a red Ferrari F40 remote control car. Obviously I fell in love with it and it became my hero car. Somewhere in between then and when I turned 10, my hero car changed to the Jaguar XJ220, because it was the fastest production car in the world (at the time, or at some time, I forget). Oddly enough when I heard of the McLaren F1 I didn't jump ships... After that, it was a Toyota MR2. A computer game I had at the time described it as "3/4 of a Ferrari at 1/4 of the price." When I was 12, I saved up for a PSX and 2 games, one of them was a brand spanking new copy of a game known as "Gran Turismo." I fell in love with the R32 GT-R for a short amount of time, but then I found the the Toyota Supra, particularly the Special one "Castrol Supra GT." I think it had a twin turbo 20 valve in it... all I remember is that it was a 4 banger. Not much happened with my choice untill I got my Ps, where my first car was a '88 Skyline Wagon (yes, the same Skyline Wagon my parents bought 12 years earlier ) then my obbsession with GT-Rs came back. To this day on any game with a Skyline in it I will buy it. In Gran Turismo 4 I have about 8... favorite being the R31 GTS-R. Right now if I had to name a hero car, it would be a choice between a Ferarri F40 or a R35 GT-R. F40 because it was made in 1987, same year as I was born, the R35 because it just looks mean.
  18. Already posted on the other forum that I'd go, and it seems I'm already counted Just a question on payment though, do we pay on the day or in advance. If in advance, where? EDIT I didn't notice that you said "once i have a full list every one will need to pay." I take it no one has paid yet.
  19. I was around that area on Thursday, doing my Christmas shopping, but looking at the photos you didn't see me. I've finally put my SAU sticker on my car, all I need to do now is to stop drinking long enough to drive my car around for it to be spotted lol
  20. 12 days, 12 points. Coincidence? lol, I saw that on Saturday morning on the way to Chatswood. I was laughing untill I hit the traffic around the Chase
  21. 1996 R33 GTS-t Completely stock (or at least no mods that I know of) 145.5kWs
  22. I've owned my car for exactly 5 months and 3 days (what? doesn't everyone keep count? ) and have mostly avoided catching the modding bug that everyone tells me I will get pulled into kicking and screaming. Now I want to bite the bullet and try for just one, and hopefully I won't go for more. I want to get an LSD, specifically a 1.5 way, mainly because what I've been reading it will make the car grip to the road better, while not being a total pig to drive like a full 2 way. Not that it doesn't grip to the road already, I always think more is better and it seems rare for people to go for handling mods before power, and I do like being the non-comformist. But before I lay down the $1000 or so (which is my guess) I want some questions answered. 1. Does having a LSD make THAT much of a difference? I don't plan to make great times on a quarter mile, but I do like pinning my car around a corner and having it do exactly what I expect it to. 2. Kaaz, Cusco or other? Kaaz seems cheaper, but I'm told the Cusco will last longer and work better. For this reason I'm leaning towards Cusco, keep Japanese parts in my car . Is there any other brand I should be looking at? 3. Will I need to shorten the axles? One of the guys I work with said I would have to. Sounds like a pain lol 4. If the above answer is no, are they easy to change? If I rate changing a water pump, timing belt and radiator in a R31 Skyline on my driveway at home to be 4/10, what would you guess I would rate a LSD installation as? Another guy at work says a diff swap between two cars can be done in around 2 hours, that sounds right? 5. I plan on keeping my HICAS, will this make a difference to the choice I should make? I imagine not, but I could be mistaken. Well I can't think of any more questions, any help on the subject would be greatly appreciated.
  23. Saw a Toyota MR-S in Chatswood this evening around 6:45 that had rims not unlike Wink's.
