  1. Any power mods since the 500rwhp dyno?
  2. Your talking about anti surge slots/holes and they do exactly what 3ltrR32 says. Holsets, Borg-Warners, some GT series Garretts, and some HKS turbo's run them to name a few. Has nothing to do with the noise when you let off the gas. People on this board really love to worry about "turbo shuffle", don't they?
  3. Really impressive! What were you 60' times? 1/8 mile? Any power changes since the 374rwkw?
  4. Their ARE options after running out of AFM other than 26 PFC either D jetro or L jetro. I have my Z32 MAF in 100mm pipe, but I'm not totally happy with it. Aftermarket AFM's for Ford Mustang/Lightenings seem like a great alternative for under $300USD. You in the states?
  5. Actually, yes you can, but down here in Okinawa, you could probably through the RB20 center piece between the valve covers and they wouldn't think twice about it. The don't car about whether or not it's turbo, just the tranny type and engine code. Shoot, I just pay $700 for my JCI and it never leaves the driveway There's no way I could even come close to passing with my setup though, so it's kind of my only option.
  6. It says L Jetro in the title and pos.
  7. RB25 for sure. Best single mod I've done.
  8. Yes, but you need to do some re-wiring of the harness, and you'll no longer have VCT.
  9. I've seen a lot of the DSM guys use spacers successfully. Do you have a 7 blade or 8 blade HX35? The 7 blade is much better from what I head. You could always track down HX40 compressor and housing down the road and turn it into a hybrid like I had. That was probably my favorite turbo I've ever run.
  10. That's the best place to get them. Remember, they are much bigger physically than garrett GT series. I'm not saying it won't, but I'd be worried about it fitting down on the side of the motor and also of the compressor housing clearing the ex manifold. I've only dealt with a bottom mount HKS log manifold and top mount. For a couple hundred bucks though, I'd say it's worth a try
  11. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/turbo-syst...hread-only.html BTW, I think all the 16cm HX40 housings are T3, not T4. Be careful--I've seen a few 6 blade HX40's around lately with 16cm housings, but the impeller was only 56mm, not the normal 60mm 6/7 blade. I'm running a 60mm inducer'd 6 blade HX40 with a 19cm housing right now. I had to get the compressor/housing from one place and the 19cm exhaust housing from another turbo which is, I suspect, what you are doing now. Good luck!
  12. Yes it will destroy a cat. It's leaded and it clogs up the cat. Makes it overheat to the point of glowing red and destroys it. I've seen it happen. Dearlove, you might want to look into water/meth injection as a cheap option for the net effect of higher octane gas. Is it something you want to run all the time or just for track nights? If just track nights, you could also make some of your own high octane brew with something like tolulene (sp?) of xylene. Has the effect of taking US R/M+2 93 octane gas up to around 98 octane. What do you guys have down there? Av gas is only like 106 or there abouts IIRC.
  13. We are still working that out right now. I've got a head packed up and ready to ship as soon as we find out. I think I might wind up sending him the intake gasket to see if it fits.
  14. They are built big and sturdy. I don't think any turbo like anti-lag, but I'd bet Holset's do better than most including garrett. They have big frames, beefy bushings, and 360 degree thrust bearings meant to handle 30+psi of daily boost on OEM diesel applications.
  15. http://forums.nicoclub.com/zerothread/4047...ment-what-works I just had to buy a whole turbo Neo motor to get this guy the proper head. The original head I sent him came out of a non-turbo R34 4 door. I thought it would be the same from information I read on this website. That information was wrong.
  16. Wow this is some good reading. I think it also blows a lot of the well established "knowledge" thrown around a lot on these boards out of the water.
  17. Spoken like a true salesman of expensive parts
  18. I'm running twin chinese/HKS 50mm wastegates with no problems for over a year now.
  19. Found it......... http://www.abacoperformance.com/products.htm
  20. I did that and don't really like it. I would at the very least put it in 3.5" pipe instead of 4". It's tough to get to idle correctly, and it's real twitchy at part throttle stuff. We tacked a 2.5" length of intercooler pipe inside the 4" intake pipe around the hot wire and it seemed to help some, but it's still more trouble than it's worth. If you don't want to go MAP, I would look at Ford Lightening MAF's. They also make upgraded MAF's for Lightenings that are supposed to have digital processors and something like 4 or 8 hot wires with a big X in the middle to cut down on turbulence that are good to over 800rwhp that idle like a dream. I'm trying to find them now. Anywho, they are 0-5v hot wire sensors and retail for somewhere around $300 USD IIRC.
  21. Have any of you guys debating between the two of these turbo's considered Borg-Warner's? They have a few that would fit right in between the power ranges of the GT35r and TO4z.
  22. Bozodos--I'm missing what you are asking. Are you asking how much hp you can make on a RB25 with a HX35?
  23. That is one amazing build. I can't wait to see some vids from the track
  24. No, I meant are you seriously putting a link to a different, completely unrelated thread in this thread and saying "I don't want to thread jack, but............". That's just ridiculous.
