Price Of The Current V35
IT Doctor replied to will_pop's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
For $4k I wouldn't take the risk. I bought off a local dealer after test driving the car and checking it out properly. I picked it up the next day. Why would you want to send your money up front for a car you cant drive or inspect and wait for 12 to 16 weeks until it finally turns up and maybe gets licensed? It would have to be a much bigger difference than $4K for me to personally import one. But everyone to their own. -
Hmmm I was going to but the buttons are different to the JDM ones as the US ones don't have the TV unit and there fore the buttons dont match up. .

On my Premium Sedan they do once you lock the doors, if I set them to do that they also tilt down when I select reverse, there is a seperate button for that down near the VDC button. -
Front Parking Lights Removal
IT Doctor replied to T88turbo's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
You will either have to take the wheel off and get to it from behind otherwise take the bumper off and unbolt the headlight unit. Removal and Installation AKS005I9 REMOVAL 1. Remove front grille. Refer to EI-20, "FRONT GRILLE" in “EI” section. 2. Remove front undercover and fender protector. Refer to EI-22, "FENDER PROTECTOR" in “EI” section. 3. Remove mounting clip on top of front bumper and screws on side of front bumper. Refer to EI-14, "FRONT BUMPER" in “EI” section. 4. Pull side of the front bumper toward the vehicle front and disengage it from clips on the body. 5. Remove headlamp mounting bolts. 6. Pull headlamp toward vehicle front, disconnect connector, and remove headlamp. CAUTION: When removing headlamps, put a shop cloth or something similar between headlamps and bumper to protect bumper. -
Maybe suede doesn't get as cold as leather?

Yep Yep Yep...that's the one.

It also warns you if you try to drive off with your handbrake on.. I'm embarrassed that I know that one.

You can get it in English I have already written to the company that makes them and they say the english version if for dealer installed nav systems only. The only possible way around it is using a US (Infinity) system but they rarely have the same systems as we do. It is pretty much time to give up on converting the unit to english or local TV in any shape or form. The best you will do is retain the screen and install a after market VDO or Blaupunkt nav system. Or if you are after Movies only a DVD palyer and use the inputs on the tv tuner to port it in.

Nigel You'll never get any hammering from me. So, unofficially and assuming they were disabled the way that you do it for compliance, could a person reconnect the fog lights and reinstall the xeons after compliance? (only for off road purposes of course ) Paul

V35 Skyline, What Do You Know?
IT Doctor replied to kralster's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Yep, probably the best balanced car I have driven in a while, goes, stops, corners with equal performance and very comfortable but still sporty to drive. -
Frank Are you going to tell us why it was the worst decision?
-
Im in WA with Western QBE I pay $786 and that is for business use as mine is a company car. Sucks to have to pay $2k in Sydney.
-
We need to get Nigel in on this new forum as he does compliance for the V Series he could answer alot of questions for us.

I cant find anything written in my engine bay but I do notice my car is a bit sluggish on acceleration especially from a rolling start and the transmission is in about 4th gear. I find that when I am in manual mode it hoots along when I am changing at 6-6,500 rpm. I think because the transmission is variable other than direct shift it tends to get in to 3 and 4th pretty quickly off the lights even when just putting along.
