How do i tell if its a series 3 box? This car has had 2 replacement boxes before i bought it.

Nope, moderate launch but 3rd didn't like the heavy bit of my triple plate. Clutch+slightly reckless engagement=smashed 3rd gear. The previous owner broke 3rd on two boxes though 360-370awkw it might be time for an upgrade or more controlled shifting practices. Thanks for the link but unfortunately it does not include transfer case. After speaking with Shaun at Boostworx it has come to my attention that there is more to it than just bolting my old transfer case to the new box. There is a fair bit of set up work involved.

Yeh, just checked greenline and they have 5 speed cross mission gearsets on sale for $2,480aud. So i would be expecting $3,500-$4,000 fitted. Thanks for the info, the clutch is copping most of the blame in this instance though i have to admit it happened in the heat of the moment.

If money is not short, how much should i be looking to spend on a gearset? I just found a series 3 box for $1,100+ freight which i thought to be pretty reasonable but i dont want to keep doing this over and over. The previous owner killed two boxes before me and strangley enough they have all been in 3rd gear. I am sure my triple plate clutch is not helping the cause.

Hi, I am not sure what to do with this next as my car is making 360-370awkw. Should i just replace the box with a second hand unit in good condition or rebuild the box stronger? Opinions and experience please?

Hi guys, I need an R33 GTR gearbox asap, i would prefer series 3 as my car is series 3 and it must be in good working order with smooth shift ie good synchros. About $1000 cheaper than it should be, why?

I have access to a pair of 6boost manifolds, they are brand new from an abandoned project PM me if interested. Yes, factory manifolds are less efficient than quality aftermarket fabricated manifolds designed for the purpose of flowing more exhaust gas. Just because a car is making power does not mean it is doing it in the most efficient manner.

Change the exhaust manifolds before you go buying new turbos, you have not got the most available out what you have yet. The factory manifolds are quite inefficient. You should get 350+awkw on your current turbos and see how you like that, i find that 350+ is ample and with minimal lag on my 2560's as i would expect also from your 2530's. With cams and 22+psi with a decent pump fuel tune from a tuner that really know their shit(ie tuning over 20psi) you should be hitting the high 300's if not 400 anyway. Going single would be selling your current set up way short. Spend the money on rebuilding them if one is on its way out, maybe even highflow them. Either way it will be a damn sight cheaper than going single or buying a complete new setup. By the way, the oil build up could be the result of a poor tune. Sort out the current issues and get a good tune.

My new car is getting 360awkw on 22psi and pump fuel with 2560's with just cams and no porting whatsoever. I will be pushing that up to 24 psi which will be getting to the end of their efficiency but its making for an awesome poerband. With head work i would expect to hit 400+. There is no need to spend extra on HKS items, just go to the 360hp each 2860's. In saying that with the right mods your 2530's should cut the mustard. How much boost are you running on them? What manifolds are you using?

As title suggests, i have a R34 GTT airbox with filter all in great condition. I lso have a stock r34 gtt exhaust, great for those epa inspections and defects. $220 for the exhaust front pipe to muffler $100 for the airbox including filter Free freight , items located in Adelaide pick up available. Just found one to check out tonight if he gets back to me in time. Looks tough, heaps of mods but it should be pretty easy to reg in Queensland compared to Adelaide, my mates up there have been getting some serious cars passed through inspections.

Hey guys As some of you know i moved to Airlie beach for a job a little while back and sold my GTR as i thought i wouldn't be able to drive the thing or store it for that matter. Well anyway, my company have won some on going work on the Qld coast between Mackay and Townsville. Mackay has the most active drag strip in Australia and the car scene is awesome as everyone is cashed up from the mines. My dad actually bought a house in Mackay so now i have somewhere to store my stuff so i am thinking about buying another car and joining in the fun with the local lads. I also have some mates in Townsville who are all into cars so i have caught the bug again already. I am home for the week so thought i might check out some local cars if anything comes up in the way of GTR's i would like to have a look. If anyone has anything that i have not seen yet let me know as there is nothing that great for sale in North Qld atm. By the way, i am loving being back in Qld again, why do we punish ourselves down here in SA with all the shit weather?
