  1. GTR has a big boot?? WTF? I was pretty sure they were the same size as GTS-t?
  2. I mean its not exactly new news is it? Its pretty clear you need to be EXTREMELY careful in wet weather. Especially in RWD Turbo cars. If you stay off boost, its fine. Take it easy
  3. I dont understand.. forging the RB25 would be miles cheaper wouldnt it? And for less money you'd get more power. As in the end, dropping in an RB26, for the cost is going to be FAR less powerful than the current setup! Spending the rough 10K for the transplant, you end up with a stock RB26. VS a highly modded, reliable RB25 for less I think i said the same thing 3 times just then.. ha
  4. I believe that hose is a temperature sensor of sorts
  5. I ended up ditching mine all together and putting in an R32 Actuator. If your after a fast, steady 10psi its the way to go! Hasnt missed a beat, crept or anything since i did it. Love it! (Stock Dump > HKS Front > Decat > HKS Silent Power Catback, Blitz LM FMIC, Stock Airbox, Apexi Panel) Not getting an inch of creep anymore. Must be doing something right finally. Highly recommended.
  6. Hillclimbs and downhills get mad flames Best flames come from Mild steel dumps. Hold heat alot more than stainless
  7. Fingers crossed for stock turbo!!
  8. The think that always concerned me about the thermo oil coolers.. When you do an oil change, no problems with draining the core too. But it would be a bit of a pain in the ass to have to fill the core too? As if you dont, and wait till the thermo does it, then your going to loose a fair bit of oil out of the engine arent you? And when the thermo closes again it isnt coming back. Whats the story with day to day running of them?
  9. That looks sweet! I wouldnt doubt that it wont work! Id be 99% sure you wouldnt get creep either. Let us know results!
  10. Hes right, but i did this aslo, and had the wastegate pipe ground out a little bit and it then cleared, and opened freely. Still same problem. Its just a shit dump pipe! Doesnt seem to work properly
  11. x2. Love the sound too. Just run 13.7'sET today. Reasonably happy with that, reeeally hot day and only VHT'd once in the morning Wonder if there would have been any difference with the Pod..
  12. And destroying something Nismo is insulting I had a Mugen Twinloop on my old Integra Type R, everyone said the twinloops are so restrictive blah blah.. but, unbolting it and just running it with the mid section lost power and torque all over the rev range. Pretty much running a 2.5" straight through. Dyno tested back to back! Generally speaking companies like that know what they are doing
  13. Its the same as the single Apexi for GTS aswell. Mine had the same gasket. As mentioned, it doesnt matter. Just like exhaust gaskets. one side is ususally flat and the other not. Just acts as something to squash and seal. GL!
  14. Yeah the price puts alot of people off. I wont be getting an aftermarket dump pipe. Stock for stock turbo will be fine. I dont mind spending money on good fitting quality products tho. Mine is Stock Dump > HKS Front > Decat > HKS Silent Power. Sounds great!
  15. Whatever you do dont get the dam JJR Split dump. Iv just taken mine off. Had no end of trouble with boost creep issues. 1 being the wastegate catches on the inside, 2 after having that fixed, still no luck.. creep creep creep So i ditched it. with the stock one, felt no difference, and holds steady 10psi with R32 actuator. I think the problem is where it merges. The pressure from the main exhaust must be too high to allow the wastegate gasses to re-enter, therefore backing up or something. I mean there MUST be a problem with them, as as soon as i put the stock one back on, boom. Perfect. Am just going to match the stock dump to the HKS front pipe.
  16. Did you by chance check continuity on each wire? Do try it now, find where it meets the ECU and see if you can get continuity on each AFM wire.
  17. ^^ A decent turbo timer will shit off when the handbrake is released, therefore activating the alarm.
  18. 50 mins to put the stock Airbox back in?? LOL did you use your teeth? haha. Iv just done the same thing, i switched back to Stock Dump/Front because the JJR piece of shit split was causing so much trouble. Now its running perfect. At the same time i put my stock airbox and an Apexi panel filter in (had the Apexi Pod) Overall im dam impressed. The sound is so much better, hear that turbo spool, and if your that way inclined, you can still hear induction and the BOV too. Think ill stick to the panel filter from now on. I like it.
  19. That, makes alot of sence!!! I just went for a drive, and it is still spiking to near enough the same boost it was. So i will try this (it is what i thought should be done in the 1st place.. one long sleepless night thinking about it ). If it still does it.. stock dump pipe.. see if that helps. Thanks alot
  20. So the Bit with the restrictor is needed? I did a n00b and left it at the store when i got a new piece of hose... doh. Im no expert, but i thought that seeing as im just running the r32 actuator with no solenoid i wouldnt need one? (this is just me saying this so i dont have to go get it..) COrrect me tho! and ill go get it back!
  21. Hey guys, just wanted to confirm if this is the correct way to re-hose the setup. Just installed the R32 actuator and ditched the boost solenoid. Is this correct? Or should i blank off the hose that goes to the BOV return?
  22. I dont know if it works anymore, but a way you could avoid getting demerits in NZ is by overpaying the fine. You could get a $200 fine, send a cheque for $201, and they would mail you back a $1 refund. But if you didnt cash the cheque, for some reason the transaction for the fine was never completed at there end and the demerits never came off the license. BUT the fine was recorded as paid.. pretty schweet if you were a couple points over.
  23. Blitz LM Kit, uses the stock pipes, so both holes are still filled with pipe If going down the CAI route, id leave the AFM where it is. Unsure if it effects it being further from the filter tho. Wouldnt imagine so. I had CAI's on my Hondas with the filter in the bumper and never had issues. The filters are infact waterproof, you just dont want to submerge them. Rain doesnt hurt. All you do is take it easy in the wet, and watch for "surface" water that ends up being 2 feet deep
  24. It'd be wise to try it. And i guess if it goes away then your problem is the dump pipe. I just got my hands on an R32 Actuator. So im going to start with that, and pull out the stock boost solenoid. Always wanted to, so seeing as its easier ill start there. If it still creeps then ill go back to stock dump too. I can see where Cerbera is coming from, but you cant make a 1inch pipe a 4 inch pipe with a file.. Are you talking about the turbo side or..? The JJR ones re enter the main exhaust just before the cat. Where the exhaust bends from the dive down the firewall.
  25. Cheers, but already done. Do the plugs and re-gap them every oil change
