Congrats! Damm fine time you did! If your running a HKS SSQV it could well be the reason for dropping out of boost between gears, I have removed a few of them now and replaced with the Greddy RS or the Tial 50mm (bit overkill for most) and presto, problem solved. Im also doing 131mph, but with 2.1 60fts :-( hell I wish he had a drag strip around here.

I went from ECR33 PFC L-jetro and converted it to run the GTR's D-jetro, Being that I mapped both setup's I can say this, the D-jetro was much easier to get nice dead stable AFR's, Drivability is better and fuel consumption is up by .5L better per 100km. (this was with no other mods done at all besides ECU change, I use FCedit, dual widebands, EGT and dual knocklinks when mapping RB's) Best thing, no idle mess around! car just runs better all round. D-jetro's idle stabilization by timing is fantasic as well! almost as good as VEMS's

to make you jelous, sounds like he did a good job.

Ive just put a 3040 .63 onto a S2 quattro that origionaly had a 3076r .63... Car spools up 250rpm faster than it did with the 3076 (which died due to twit not using air filter and ingesting a small rock) once up in the rev range the 3040 also feels a little more responcive. For the 3L i would say the 1.06 was a good idea, In the little 2.2L I5 im getting 28psi by 4200rpm and with antilag its amazing!
-
Could not have said it better, 28psi @ 4400rpm on a RB25 with tiny cams & instant response at anything over 4500rpm from second onwards...

T04z RB25 Some mess about fun on the way back from work, The video car (S14 SR20 running my old GT35 @ 1.5bar) and myself just mucking about, fueling still quite heavy from the drag event on Saturday (run with a 100mm turn down for drags and 76mm for street (legal rubbish)) As ive said earlier in this post, I have ran both turbo's on the same car with the same setup, everyone likes somthing different, I prefer the power delivery of the T04z. I was running 1.8bar in those clips.

I would like to hear an update on this IAT vs problematic coolant temp, that coolant temp is very high,

Oh i know it isnt Had 420whp back then, quite a bit more now, closer to double. -
Hit 607.5rwhp/446rwkw With My Pump Gas Tune
Rezlo replied to ReganGTS25T's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Ha ha ha, thats why with my new suspension setup and decent track I ran a 11.1 at 1mph slower. -
Hit 607.5rwhp/446rwkw With My Pump Gas Tune
Rezlo replied to ReganGTS25T's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
And I did a 128mph with only 350kw out of a stock RB25 with a GT30, also on a dusty POS track like Regan runs on,,, bad tracks make for very odd MPH's Video of 128mph at only 11.6 -
I have only ever seen 2 Garrett BB's fail,, one was due to a blocked oil line and one was from a melted WG hose that recorded a 3.9bar on his profec B before a nice chunk of piston took out the turbine wheel.' Other than that with over 60 fitted and about 250sold in the last 4-5years ive never seen one fail without actual cause.
-
I was making 340rwkw with the 35r? maybe if your going to dig up old posts you want to actualy check thats what I did with the GT30 on the stock 25 with an 11.6 1/4 mile to boot... that was the last time i had my car on a dyno. My 35R setup was put onto a built motor and almost identical design manifold to when i upgraded to the T04z (my T04z is twin scroll)and it didnt have a 100mm DP and 1000cc injectors... thats about it... RB25 + T04z with @ 2 bar by 4300rpm... I can not see how you say that is misleading anyone. Again, maybe its just me but im pretty sure when people actualy drive their cars fast they dont keep it under 4500rpm? or maybe you guys race like F&F where half way into the race you change down a gear and put your foot down?
-
Suppose its 100% personal opinion,, to me the 35r was just rubbish for performance, it was like driving old mother Hubbard around.. and thats in a car 200kg's lighter than a skyline... When I switched to a T04z I had 200-300rpm slower spool up and a whole shit load more top end. The car feels smoother and the response over 5000rpm is lighting fast (around here we don't race at 3500rpm ) I also notice the lag between gears if far less on the T04z And i seriously don't know how you guys find the T04z harder to handle around a track, at 1.3bar i ran 1.5 seconds faster around a 1.20 track than i did with my anemic GT35 at 1.5bar.. and thats a RWD S14 no AWD or added weight. But again, its all personal opinion, some people like turbo cars for the rush of power, some like them as every day taxi's, its just funny that the people with the biggest opinions are paper racing off other peoples results not actual personal usage.

I use interferance fit, smother it in loctite when putting it on (fun when the drive is 140deg and crank is -30) and use two 6X20mm grub's one on each side, i tighten them in and then cut off the protruding part and very carfully file it so its 100% flush with the drive and the whole for the allen key is no longer there, makes it hard to see! I have done about 30rb cranks like this with out a single problem, dont worry about the grub's coming out because the pump drive would never let them turn out,, on 4 of the motors ive done freash's on at 50k km's they all look 100% like the day I did them.

Experience With The Gizzmo Ms-ibc Ebc Or Hdi's Ebcs
Rezlo replied to Moodles2's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Ive used them as well with no problems at all, very basic to setup and works extreemly well. -
My money is on coolant temp sensor or AFM, both can give a partial miss at a specifc load/speeds if they go dodgy... One thing that somone has already mentioned is CAS, its always work opening it and checking if its clean inside, I have had 2 cars now where they are corroded inside and the dust has caused some funny things to happen... particualy in the warm up phaze
-
Have fun, I recoat them when i build motors and that particular one is a pain in the ass! Nissan used some hard core locking epoxy compound so the method to do it is to head up the block all around it till its real warm then use a set of locking pliers on it and slowly work it side to side till its loose then start puling while rotating it... if you dont have that sort of patients (and somtimes the buggers just dont let go) get a new one from nissan and go wild on the one in there to get it out.

Rb25 Steam Pipe Manifold
Rezlo replied to STR8E180's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
STR8E180, Manifold looks very nice, I know when I had the choise months ago on a customers car for a 6boost or other,, the main problem was I would have had to have waited 8 weeks for the manifold to be made and another 3 weeks to get it to me, landed up making it myself because I was in a hurry... For the guy that needs a manifold in a hurry it seems like a good deal. -
Unfortunatly I can not tell you that, we only have one proper hub dyno in RSA, thats about 1400km from where I live, all our local home brew dyno's love to have cars walk at anything over 300kw so we learn to do without dyno's for tuning or power runs. First round of our nationals are in feb, will see if I can get it on the hub dyno,

For those that love to hate. T04z on RB25 with small cams planted in a S14... 1bar by 4000rpm 1.5bar by 4300rpm 2bar by 4500rpm Done in 4th gear because I cant hold the video cam and drive in 3rd as the 285's loose traction (got some vid of that as well) If you want to see the video supply an email addy as its 19mb because as soon as i compress it you cant see the rev counter...
