Yeah the R34 GT-R door trims actually have more weight than you might think & I am actually thinking of using a compressed foam (PVC?) material which is extremely light and then just cut to size. I will definitely keep you guys posted once I get it done.
Here are some pics of my doors for now...
More pics!
Interior + Engine too... but forgot to give the engine a bit of a clean!
Oh and with the interior, you guys are either going to love it, or hate it! Either way, the intended purpose of the car is very clear!
WOW!!! You photoshop'ed that one nicely Darkness_Ryda1!!!
Yeah I was actually thinking of getting CE28N's (which look heaps similar!) because they are an awesome lightweight wheel!!! Cant decide though which colour I would get though... either titanium silver or bronze...
Do you reckon you can photoshop my car with bronze CE28N's Darkness_Ryda1???
Oh yeah definitely. The photos from the original post were done by a proper digital camera, where as these photos with the new wheels were just done with my brothers phone camera so yeah... no comparison there!
Now the wheels... they may look better than the stock R34 GT-R rims but they really made the car worse to drive! Ie - cornering and acceleration were noticably worse as the wheels were made of cast and not even forged!
So.... definitely light weight racing wheels are on the agenda!
Hey all,
I was going through some old random pics that my brother took with his phone and I stumbled upon some photos he took when I had just fitted the new Gram Lights. I had totally forgotten about these!
Let us know what you think!
Wow I haven't viewed this thread in a while!
Thanks again so much for all of the compliments!
Oh and NZM.031, I actually sold those wheels on this forum a couple of months after I got them because it actually didnt look as good as I thought it would on my car! Unfortunately I didnt take any photos when the wheels were on the car... too embarrased! LOL JJKS!
So for now i'm just sticking with the stockers... who knows, might get something new in the future...
Do people actually use superglue to attach eyelids?
Cos if thats the case, then you cant really take them off without leaving the crappy glue residue behind right?
I was hoping to take off the eyelids off my headlights too.
Yeah I'm pretty sure that not having door trims is defectable... but because the way my car is now, I guess you could say what isn't defectable on my car? lol.
Hmmm yeah well I've actually taken a fair amount of stuff out of my car already...
Air con system/Condenser
Both Air bags
Interior trim/carpet etc
Roof lining
Rear seats + Seat belts
Passenger seat + Seat belt
Stereo/Speakers
Glove box
Boot interior
Spare tyre
And pretty much anything that I dont need/use to make the car lighter...
So it just seems that the doors is the next thing to do.
Oh I forgot to mention that I am thinking of getting Lexan windows...
Yeah I was thinking the exact same thing when I was looking at my door trims. I mean if anything theres more sticking out with them on ie - arm rest/handles... but I've read on another website that its the sharp holes in the doors that could cause a problem? Maybe some of your body parts could get stuck in there if you rolled your car etc???
Actually I came across pics of the Donut King R35 GT-R and they have this on their doors:

Looks like a really good comprimse between safety and cost. What material do you guys think it was made out of?
Cheers,
Hi all,
This is a bit out there but do you guys reckon it would be a bad idea to take out both door trims (save more weight) if I only use my R34 GT-R at the track/weekend warrior? Or is that just too dangerous??
I got this idea when I saw pics of Hi-Octane's R35 GT-R which competed in Targa 2008?
