Getting power from an EVO is so bloody easy i agree with 666DAN, 206 kw WTF, the reason why they run so much boost because the cams they use are so restricted its not funny to meet emmission laws, you put a set of cams in an evo with FMIC, exhaust, ecu, you have an 11sec weapon, my mechanis has the evo ix and with ecu only tune that he did he went and ran a 12.8 1/4 at eastern creek so shit all factory just an ecu tune with existing car.

R33gtr Upgrade Twin Turbos Or Go For Single Turbo
GTR 400 replied to Bakes's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
If you do your typical mods like Front mount intercooler,Tomei stage 2 cams with adj cam gears, injectors, ignition coils, exhaust turbo back, ecu usually Apexi Power Fc, and either Garret ball bearing direct spec replacement turbos to factory which i have or N1 or hks this will still give you fantastic street responce actually better than factory responce great drivability and round about 330 to 370Rwkw max depending on the engine as to how new or tired it may be getting. I still have factory air flow meters and got a 352Rwkw and i am installing the Tomei stage 2 cams now which i know yield great results as one of my close buddys has the same as me and achieved 375Rwkw with all the same mods listed, hope this helps. -
Hi congrats on that blistering quick time considering the problems you had on the night, i am modifying my R32GTR extensively as of late and would like to know if you dont mind what sort of power or torque are you making to achieve that time please. This will give me a realistic understanding of what sort of power is required to obtain certain time figures there abouts. Good luck i also are retaining the low mounts good tuning and right mods with this set up can make fantastic times for sure. Cheers, Dave.

For those who really want to know i am family friends with the owners of Robinson Nissan in Sydney who also are the importers and sellers of all nismo products in Australia and yesterday i was toid officially by my goodfriend who i will not name that all the nissan dealers have been notified that the new GTR will land in OZ, this is the insider truth and anyone who says is not doesnt know shit, this is the gods honest truth.

I have a just jap cooling pro 40mm Alloy radiator and it is great, the early one had problems that they have fixed it all up the welds are solid and although not a show car straight weld finish but more than satisfactory. I was very sceptical in using one of the cooling pro items but my performance mechanic has been using them for a while with Nissans and with track cars and they have not given him a problem yet so he recommended me to upgrade to it also. I have had mine in my R32 GTR for 5 months and no problems at all in traffic perfect , foot to the floor which is mostly how i drive my car and still no probs so i would say go for it they are good and also come with a 1 warranty as well. I also have a very close friend who has just made 385RwKw with a just jap 100mm thick tube and fin FMIC and i saw the build quality and once again very surprised how well they are constructed for the money and the fact it flowed that power and still nowhere near in efficient says that they are worth considering. I am not trying to sell them but giving you solid facts based on what i have seen, hope this helps.

Thanks for that info sounds good what stage poncams would you suggest the Stage 1 or Stage 2 cams.
-
Thanks Slim Mat even though the standard cams can make that sort of power will stage 2s make it and beyond but give the engine better response compared to the standard items.

Hi to all Skyline owners i own a R32 Gtr and am getting my Power Fc installed and tuned soon i have all the other mods already like exhaust, coils, Fmic, injectors etc,was wanting to know by people in the know as to when you would need to get cams for your car, is it if your chasing more power or will it perform better then factory cams, what specs also eg, stage 1 or stage 2 are they no good for the street will i lose bottem end torque or not to much as the trade of benefit for mid and top end. I will be runnning 20psi my bottom end is rebuilt and forged, if anyone with atrue understanding of the theories of Cams please help me out with my questions would appreciate it a million. Cheers, Dave.

Hi BNR32t, I am not sure what is the best way to do this, i also dont want to spend more than $5000 to do this if i can. Does it have to be back to bare metal is going over sufficient, and no i wont be preping the paint i want to pay a professional to do it right from the start. Cheers, Dave.
-
Hi to all i own a R32 Gtr gun metal grey factory colour and want to ask if any one can tell me how much i should expect to pay for a re paint and colour change. The car is in 90% panel condition. Ilive in Sydney and has anyone been down this road recently. Cheers, Dave.

Hi Paul, Very interested to know if i can purchase a controller unit from you please. Cheers, Dave GTR400

Hi there Paul R33 i am not sure what it will cost for 20inch rubber yet i got them as i great package deal. But i will say this my GTR in its current mild form ran a 12.4 1/4mile with ease i had no wheel spin or broke traction, i have pushed this car hard on the street always and never had had probs unless i wanted them if you know what i mean and all of this was done with the cheapest set of standard Bob Jane tyres. Yep no bull so if below average tyres will rack up a low 12sec 1/4 and handle decently on the road im sure a set of low profile Toyos will easy out handle and grip the cheapest set of Bob Janes. Cheers, Dave.

Gtr Engine Just Rebuilt, Feels Like Power Lost
GTR 400 replied to BlackR32's topic in General Maintenance
Yeah i agree stock boost is 7 Psi i had mine on the dyno and with stock exhaust everything stock it didnt produce more than 7Psi we took the restrictor out and even then would raise more the stock exhaust was out of flow efficiency car wanted to boost but couldnt get the gas out . Even the standard boost gauge goes to 7psi also, i have witnessed everything that i have talked about have a good friend with a dyno and we played with the R32 that night to see how it ran stock, let me tell you also they run very pig rich in fuel side of things good to know as the ecu will accomodate a boost increase with A/F ratios that Nissan gave the Gtr. Cheers, Dave. -
I own an R32 gtr and was told from my tuner Paul Fischer who used to work for ADVAN that they used to run 20-60 full synthetic on there big horse power RB26DETT rebuilds for customers. They were the only guys doing so at the time and never spun bearings as the RBs like to do. I went to Just Jap and got talking with the owner of the joint and asked him about all the oil he sells in the display and he to said that his mechanic is starting to use the 20-60w full Motul synthetic, which they also use in there Targa Tasmania cars. Only thing is that to do an oil and filter change costs around $145 dollars because it costs $44 per 2litres, so Paul told me to try the Castrol 10-60w full synthetic which i have and so far oil pressure is great and holding well even when driven hard. My Oil pressure gauge on cold idle holds at slightly over the 4cm2 and when hot and driven hard at idle drops to slightly under the 4cm2. I do have also a N1 oil pump though but the pressure is great and safe. The Castrol cost $65 for 5Lt and genuine oil filter $9.90 from Nismo in Sydney, cheaper yeah but still quality protection and i do this every 3500klms, i drive my car hard and look after it even harder, im fussy but its worth it or maybe because i have a new full forged bottom end with new turbos might be a good enough reason to take of her haha. Cheers, Dave.

I just bought 20inch rims for my R32 GTR i live in Sydney and got them from Tempe tyres, they were custom drilled on site and are perfect offset for the car. They sold them with Nankang but i upgraded to a Toyo brand. It fills the guards perfectly and still have room to lower the car 2 inches from stock ride height when i get my coil overs soon. They cost usually $3600 but they had a deal going and i managed to bargain them to $2800 fitted with the up rated tyres to so i was very happy. I cant believe it but my ride quality is still great even with the mrs in the car i was very surprised not that bumpy could be because i had a good set of tyreson there quality counts. When i figure out how to put pics on this site i will put it in you guys will be surprised how good 20s look, i will keep the Original forged 16 inch GTR rims for track use and drifting events but the 20s are for show. Cheers, Dave.

I still have my stock exhaust in top condition dumps the lot but dont know how much i would sell it make me an offer i will think about it Cheers, Dave.

R32 Gtr Gearbox How Strong Are They.
GTR 400 replied to GTR 400's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thanks guys for all your replys, it is good to know that with low elevens my quarter mile target i should be ok with the standard box, has any one else achieved an awesome quarter mile time through the factory gearbox that would be an interesting bit of knowledge to obtain to see what limits some people have been able to go with the factory box. Cheers, Dave.
