They are actually building a motor for it this year rather than just the race motor that he uses to compete in the GT series with (which is what they did last year).

That's correct. Luffy would of preferred to use some dunlops or yokohamas though.

S A U N S W - Wakefield Trackday Number 2 For 2011

That's a shame Eric, But I wouldn't expect the photographers to work for nothing. Has anyone asked RENEW if they are interested or if they have a photographer coming to the track? It is pretty cheap for what you get. -
There's a red one in NSW that has the conversion done and races. I believe there is a kit you can buy to do the conversion edit: Bit slow with my post on the kits

It was good to meet you Scott. The valve issue was my own fault and I was grateful that Paul helped me out. Right place at the right time. You now need to get a proper tune for your car to get what you expected from it. -

It's a constant work in progress. I want to get some new seats for it, with more bolstering to hold you in the seat better and the shocks really need to be taken out and be rebuilt. Either that or I will look at getting some new ones. -

I ordered new bolts, bushes and spacers to be able to put the valley cover and front cam cover back on. Nissan had everything except the bushes for the cam cover backing plate which I really needed. Spoke to Paul from Red R Racing who said he had some. Went and visited Paul one weekend on a Saturday for what was meant to be a relatively simple job of removing the timing belt, removing the cam gears, inserting the bushes into the backing plate and re-assembling everything. This turned out to be more complicated due to a stupid mistake I made while the timing belt was off. I had left the key in the ignition and had it on accessories as we were using it to turn the motor to close TDC. Paul noticed this, so I reached through the window backwards and turned the key the wrong way really briefly. This caused the motor to turn over. We thought I might have been lucky but when it was put back together, it sounded like it was missing on one cylinder and there was a tapping sound. Paul tracked it down to be the exhaust valves 4 & 5. So timing belt cam off and we pulled the head off with everything attached. We worked into early Sunday morning Paul pulled the valves out and this was what they looked like They didn't look too bad and seemed to only bend from below the valve guide. Paul managed to seat one of the replacement valves, but couldn't get the other one to work. We decided to go to bed and see if his machinist was available later on Sunday. Luckily for me the machinist was working onhis own car in the shop, so everything was ripped off the head and taken over to the shop. With a bit of back cutting on the replacement vale the second one went in and could be seated. We took the head back to Paul's. He had to go out, so I left my car there and headed back home to Sydney. During the week Paul at night put the head back together and put it back on the motor. I went back up the following weekend to help finish attaching everything and to take the car home. It is back up and running fine again, with all the covers back on, ready for it's next SAU NSW Trackday on May 28th. I would like to say a big thank you to Paul and Stacey from Red R Racing for not only helping me out with my car but feeding me and giving me a bed to sleep while I was up there. Paul went out of his way to help me out and as much as he isn't popular on these forums, he is a really good guy. -

A few updates Car has been parked up due to renovating my house. In January I went to start it up to give it a run and my brother noticed this luckily The last time I had driven it was a track day. I think that a stone had gotten in there and caused all the damage. I hadn't been running the cam cover as the bushes for the backing plate were loose. It also required to remove the timing belt and cam gears to get to them. I still didn't have them by the time I got the timing belt back so with some help the new timing belt and tensioners were put on for now, with the plan to get the new bushes and bolts for the covers from Nissan. -
That is correct but make sure it is on the inlet stroke for 0° The crank turns twice for the cams turning once. When you have it lined up mark the old belt on the crank and the cams with the marks on the motor. The Gates belt has marks on it to line up the crank and cams but not sure about any other ones. You can use the old belt to transfer it to the new belt. Also get new stud, nut and bolt for the tensioners too. Gates make a kit you can buy. Also as others have suggested change the waterpump at the same time. When you have it back together take out the spark plugs and turn the motor over using the bolt on the crank to make sure nothing clashes and it lines back up again.

Paid and sent for off today. I have entered in street class as most of the day will be done on street tyres. Will it be a problem later on in the day if I change over to some full slicks if I am feeling game? Or does that then change the requirements to needing a harness and a full roll cage? I don't mind if the times don't count. Just entering for a bit of fun with my car. cheers, Nathan -
Is it the plugin v44 or v88?

You can have 2 fuel maps with the Vipec, use one of the digital inputs with a switch to change between an e85 and pump fuel tune.

Get the mines cam cover baffle kit. Their design seems to work the best. I run them in my 33 GTR

I'm interested in doing this.

Vipec Ecu - Need Sample Config
Deano45 replied to jimbojones132's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Have a look at this website for injectors Injector Dynamics I personally haven't run them yet but know of people running their 1000's and 2000's without any issue. There is a lot of info on the site as well as a distributor in Canada. As the guys keep saying on here, tuning is tuning. It doesn't matter what car, what engine, what ecu. Once a tuner learns the interface for the software they are using to tune the ecu, he should know how to tune the car using the fuel map and timing to get the car to do what he wants. If not find another tuner that knows what tuning is about or maybe pay to get someone to dial in remotely to do a tune over the internet. It has been done before. The other info you might want to supply is where/how you have the map sensor connected. Have you tried the ViPec forums? They are full of information. ViPec have developed the plug and play to work with an RB26 otherwise they wouldn't market it as such. It is one of 2 things: 1) your tuner/ViPec dealer or 2) The ViPec ECU and the way you have it hooked up. -

I believe I know who the owner of the car is and his house is in that street. I can't tell you why it was out there. I doubt he will sell it. I thought the family still drives it, but maybe hasn't for a while. -
I buy heaps of tools from there, as Duncan said, they are cheap fast and easy to deal with.
