Good writeup!!... only downside i can see is the car will 'idle up' for longer as the coolant is no longer there to melt the waxpellet. It now has to rely on conduction of engine heat instead. But imo, its a worthwhile mod if you can put up with this.
Most forged piston applications will consume a bit of oil, as the forged units take longer to thermally expand, and expand more than a cast piston... therefore they require greater bore clearance to allow for this; although the consumption shouldnt be overly noticeable.
If you're losing a fair bit of oil and its not leaking externally, as madbung said, check turbo seals.. if they checkout ok and you're still in doubt, have your mechanic perform a leakdown test just for peace of mind.
One tip if you have the stock dump pipe; unbolt the dump pipe from the front pipe and leave the dump pipe connected to the turbo. Then remove the turbo and dump together as one part and unbolt the dump from the turbo out of the car. Just seemed to make life easier instead of fumbling around undoing the nuts at the back of the dump.
You'll either need to re-kit the master cylinder you have now, or buy a new one.
I grabbed a clutch master cyl for a navara, to fit my 32 gtst. Its the same part, and retails for around $40 (depending on shop) for a brand new generic one. Works well!
Hey mate, any other details on the turbo known? how many kms, any shaftplay, any other components with it (actuator, lines, etc)?. Pics of comp & exh wheels would be nice if possible.
And would you consider postage to VIC?
Cheers.
Awesome! could you tell me roughly how many kms it was used on your car for? and is there anything else i'd need to bolt it on to a stock RB20 manifold? And could you do postage to Vic at all?
Cheers mate.
Changing to an 044 will most likely increase the rail pressure, because its a higher pressure pump than stock. The FPR is mechanically controlled by manifold vacuum, and because of this it has no way of increasing the return flow to the tank to even out the increased pressure from the pump. As such, you get an increase of pressure at the rail (by however much pump pressure is higher than the stock pump).
So it will run richer for that reason.
Most people fail to realise this when buying a pump. You do need to look at the pump pressure aswell as LPH, unless you plan on running an adjustable FPR.
Hey mate, do they come with tyres? if so what condition are they in? (tread %)
Yeah, another pic of the face of the wheel would be great too.
Extremely interested!!!
Cheers, Phil
Hey mate!
Interested in those skirts + pods, if you could meet in melton again?
Cheers, Phil.
(Btw, i bought those parts off you a while ago.. umm fog lights, dump pipe, turbo, and my mate grabbed your old wheels)
Hey mate. I'm really interested in the cooler (providing it holds boost.. no leaks) + piping kit! I'll pm you tonight (i'm at work atm).
I'm in ballarat, so i can pickup on the weekend if that suits?
Thanks mate.
hey mate,
any chance of some pics of a few parts?:

-R32 R33 intercooler piping kit
Even if you throw them all together in one pic.
Cheers
