R32 GTR Half Cage (bolt in) with bolt in side intrusion bars. Bars are 40mm diameter, painted black, come complete with all plates and bolts. Cage was made by Lance from www.walkerchassis.com.au A very well known cage builder with a LONG waiting list. Check his website. Cage was very well built and there shouldn't be any problem with CAMS if you only need 4 points. Very easy to install $900 Will post at buyer expense. Will post pictures later today.

Yes you can bank on that

R34 Gtr On Warm Up Lap At Eastern Creek
9krpm replied to giant's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Mate, with eyes that large even girl would stay away from ya Seriously, I got out there quite late and a lot of people went home aldready. Briefly spoke to Mark and did not know that you were out there until I talked to Dazmo in the evening. That is an awesome time for first time on that track and in the car. Hope you get some more practice with it -
R34 Gtr On Warm Up Lap At Eastern Creek

I came out late and did not get to see your run mate but I heard that you went into the 53 You know you gotta give more feedback about the drive than just a short blurb on the mirror you know -
That's a very fast and respectable time John What's the plan for the R33 John? The R35s and Willall are raising the bar at Mallalla this year. I better get my study completed and get a bit more spanner time on my Nissan. I have a lot of catching up to do.....

I think you should try to flush it well or best to remove the t/f case out and clean all of the plates. The redline is good for gears but not friendly on clutch plates. If you want to refill it through the gearstick hole next time, drill a connecting hole between the two and fill her up with Willall gearbox oil cause it's more friendly on the clutch plates

That design is similar to my old Mine's front pipe. That style has awesome sound at midrange and top end. I miss the sound since changing to a Trust dump and extension pipes. -
lol nice to be corrected but that was only an analogy mate. If you get exposed to dust all the time, your nasal system will start to secrete mucus I can guarantee you that you won't grow more hair The way fine inspirable particles or dust ( <145 um) are filtered by the nasal system is a bit more complicated than just that. It's a combination of filtration, static adhesion, particle momentum etc. Nasal hair only filter large particle and is not that effective for smaller particles. It's what I specialise in so I didnt want to go overboard on this forum. You do have a point about grease if you only use it sparingly. I just finished installation of suspension arm into my car atm and I figured that if I put a whole slab of them on the joint then not much dirt/moisture will get down into the contact surface of the joint. Anyone think I should wipe the grease off?

There won't be any problem putting the 5-600kw to use on the track if the GTR is well maintained. Cubes and small-ish twin turbo will certainly help. The cooling system may not cope though. It's been done
-
Well how is it bad if it only stay on the surface of the grease, outside the joint? It may looks bad but is it really bad? Most joints that Ive seen has a layer of teflon on the outside lip of the joint, which reduces the larger dust particles from getting into the joint. Sure there will be small size dirt that will get through into the joint with the grease, but without the grease there will be a lot more dirt of this size into the joint. I like to think of an analogy of mucus in our human nasal cavity which attracts the dust but reduce the amount of dust getting into the lungs...or is it not the same?

Wow that's nice Munro and Martin. The max torque got shifted by ~1300rpm and there is gain everywhere I better go and water my money tree lol

Cam Choice For A Track Orientated R32
9krpm replied to «Cyph3r»'s topic in Engines & Forced Induction
copgaz, peak torque at 5+krpm is still laggy for some tight circuit. You will then have to use lower gear to keep the rev up which then will tax the cooling system. My setup with the Greddy T618 has peak torque at 4krpm and it still feels a tad laggy. With a bit more work I think I will be able to bring that down to 3-3.5krpm....with top end compromise of course. -
Is there any harm in covering the Rose joints with a lot grease so that dirt/moisture will get trap on the surface of the grease and wont' go into the joint?

That will be great to see Cameron. Could you let me know when you come out? The R33 that was there was very clean and nice.

Cam Choice For A Track Orientated R32
9krpm replied to «Cyph3r»'s topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Any one? It make sense to have a smaller cam on the intake side to help cylinder fill and improve low to midrange response, which is crucial for trackwork. What I am keen to see is some hard evidence, hopefully on the same engine, of the gain of using smaller cams rather larger cam and advance the larger cam with cam gear. I am still in the process of finding the sweet spot for my 272 cams. IMHO you don't want to go any larger than 272 on the exhaust side for a track car. -
Sorry mate, I misread Marlin question regarding the wing and gave him a long winded answer on how I went lol I was not out there to race. My tuner has been busy so he asked me to take it out there to test how the cooling system cope with 2 bars of boost with conservative timing. I was meant to be there for a couple of laps but had so much fun so hang around for a few more. Car is still registered with full interior and was pretty much how it passed QLD Transport except a slightly more aggressive cam dial, removed passenger seat, race exhaust, catch can and the head light. Turbo was out of efficiency range, blowing hot air so I only had a few laps before the oil gets to 125C and I had to pit. You should see some of the "street" cars out there. They had slicks, no interior bar a driver seat, steering wheel and some gauges to let the drivers know that the engines run lol

Track Suspension...best Coil Over Kits!
9krpm replied to mrtzila's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
IF you guys don't mind, I'll throw in a slightly off topic question. I have a 5-6 years old Bilstein coil over system for a mainly track car. Last time I took it out, I felt that it had a bit more body roll than usual but a lot of things were not perfect for racing either so it might not be the shocks. How often do you need to reservice the shocks/spring? What are the symptoms when the shocks goes off? -

Rich, have you got any dyno result of the gain with the bigger cam in the exhaust compare to a square setup? -

Wow the car, rims and other details are fantastic so far. I can't wait to see the final results. Great work Mat! -
Congrats and all the very best with the wedding prep Michael. It will be good to see your beast out there again. Now that I've decided to convert the GTR into a trailer queen, like your, she will undergo some cosmetic enhancements It's been a long time tweaking her for power. It has enough power now, I will try to tweak the suspension next and don't want to use any extra assistance (wings or 4wd controller) until I am happy with the suspension setup. Hence I will go back to the factory wing. The ally wing really works, without it I would have been all over the place last weekend with my crappy alignment + tyres. Nah I still have plans for the s2k. It will get it place when the GTR doesn't use the hoist as much. With full sound system + full trim + sound deadener everywhere + a 4 points cage it did 59 at QR sprint with the old engine The engine is now stroked It will be fun when I have time to remove around 200-300kg out of it. As long as we won't get another Global Financial Crisis soon, I like to keep both. I tried to trade in my C32 for a 4wd but could not get what I wanted so I've delayed it until end of year.

Merli, from the image it looks like you can easily fab up a rubber stopper between the LCA and the tie rod end and bolt it up to that big bolt (holding the caster arm). I did not buy the tie rod end with my Ikeya kit. I am in the process of installing the kit now and not too sure if the stock tie rod end will be able to correct bump steer Do you guys know if I need to get one? Does anyone know how much improvement the rose joint tie rod end alone will have over the factory rod end? Thanks in advance
-
haha classic. I am at work, getting distracted and misread your question. The wing works well. It is not pleasant on the eye but makes the car more stable around turn 1 in the past. I will go back to the factory spoiler in the next few months until my alignment is sorted again and then will reuse it.

hehe the whole car needs a bit of TLC. The old brake pads in my AP systems were off. A SS Commodore was able to out brake me on the day I could not pull up on the 5th corner and by the time I got to the 6th the car was all over the place. Been too busy this year. I will try to get it done after my final exam. It should be fun next year One of my kind mate lend me the 4wd and trailer for the weekend. Yes so true, if you can't beat them then join them....no point arguing with the police. I must admit I felt a lot more relax towing the car there than driving it on public road. May be I am getting older I will be on a lookout for a 4WD this summer. Is there any other hot deal for 4WD atm Marlin?
