I can't believe that these controllers are not snapped up like hot cake. My car used to literally "walks" under full power even with a front lsd and sticky re55s. The unit not only stopped that but made the car more controllable around corners, especially so in the wet. I won the QLD Nissan time attack day last year thanks to this unit. It was a very wet day and most people with slick or semi slick tyres were all over the places behind the guys with less power and street tyres. I had semislick and this unit made the car so controllable. I've not had enough track time with it to fine tune the settings but it will be awesome with some more R&D. I cant believe that it's out of production so soon

Shanef, do you have the rough prices on those psi and supertech springs? Do you need to use their specific retainers with these springs?
-
Thanks Titan. I thought it would be that simple but just wanted to double check

380rwkw on willall's dyno will be like 400+rwkw or 500+rwhp that will be a wild ride My af ratio is around high 11 to 12:1 with fuel pressure of around 55psi at idle. Tuner was fairly conservative. I love how clean the E85 comes out of the exhaust.

Superlap 2009 Gets A Green Light!
9krpm replied to Superlap Australia's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
What's a nismo radiator cap doing in a vtec engine bay Nah seriously, it sounds like a head gasket to me. The guy has been on the phone so many times this weekend. I help him prepare that car last week. I even sold and installed my $1400 PWR radiator for dirt cheap so he could compete this weekend without overheating. He had overheat and coolant came out of radiator cap once with the stock system. Anyway his coolant kept coming out on the track even though the coolant temp was only 83 C. In pit lane with the fan disconnected, the coolant got up to 90+ C without any leak at all. Spark plug no 1 was a bit white. Car had difficulty with start and blow white smoke (with start) at time. Head gasket? It's such a shame and I feel sorry for the guy, he drove all the way from QLD to only find out that he probably had a head gasket leak. Anyway I will probably get the blame for this good gesture -

The red s2k? -
Thanks for the info Adrian. My car is still with my tuner so I've not receive any other info beside the fact that my injector duty cycle is at 100% on 24psi (about the same as your there). I have a feeder intank pump, 2x 044's, 2x dash 6 or dash 8 fuel lines and a Greddy fuel rail. I have no clue what lambda or fuel pressure are at. I will be keen to find out next week. I also intend to change the inline fuel filters to something with better flow. What are you guys using for the E85?
-
I would of love to come to catch up with everyone, if I found this earlier. Please let me know if there is room for one more or if anyone is not able to make it. Thanks and have a good night everyone Dan

There are reports of Walbro fuel pump failures around the globe. I read that Walbro doesn's support E85 use with their pumps as well. Have you guys seen/had problem with pumps? I've maxed out my PE 1000cc injectors on a 3L RB with the E85. I've read mixed reports of spray pattern, mostly bad, with the Indy Blue 1600. I am not sure if it's entirely true or not but not too keen to try them out on a circuit car. Has anyone try these big squirters? What do you guys suggest for injector upgrade with good spray pattern to maintain good idle and midrange response?
-
How do you guys hook up the switch for the clutch and what did you use?
-
Roy, this thing is so much easier to read than the FC hand controller display. In the event of a malfunction, the warning light and buzzer go off, the screen switches to a warning menu and lists the faults. There are also programmable warning pattern, duration and ways to turn it off. It has enough warning lights and functions for me to keep an eye on my Willall racing built engine. Now that the vipec is on order, I think I will have less worries on the track
-
Thanks Trent for the info regarding the boost function. I am still undecided whether I should ditch my Blitz dual SBC or keep it. Thanks also to Paul Ruzic for allowing me to test out his new products and for his patience with the development because I can be OCD sometimes lol The great thing about Paul products are their flexibilities and ability to customise to your needs. Paul doesnt leave any rock unturned and covered all possibilities before releasing his trial products. I've been testing Paul's EMII and 4WD controllers. Both have worked flawlessly and gave me more confidence in what I should be doing on the track. Now that his can be hooked to the vipec, I might give the vipec a try. I wont go overboard here and will write more feedback in the appropriate Ruzic thread. Anyway the endless ability to program the shift light, warning lights, warm up lights and buzzer are awesome. If you think dirt's image is bad, don't laugh at mine ok. Sorry, my lens did not like the inadequate light in the shed. I will take some more pics when the v88 is installed.

I must admit that I've not thoroughly read all of these pages. I missed a few. How good is the boost control with the vipec and a single pressure control valve compare to a dual solenoid boost controller like Blitz?

I am tempted to switch over to E85 in both of my track/weekend cars. One of the car has a walbro intank feed pump and 2x 044. After some research it seems that the Walbro is not e85 friendly and Walbro company doesnt recommend the use of e85 fuel. I have similar setup on the r32 with a gtr intank feed pump. It's probably some jap aftermarket pump since it coped with 400rwkw just by it self at one stage and it hasn't got any Nissan stamp on it. Anyway lets assume it's something very similar to the stock gtr pump. The pump survives 5 years of 10% ethanol fuel. Does anyone know if the gtr pump is a bit more resistant to the higher ethanol concentration?
-
Thanks again brokenwrx. You are a life saver

Jyo, I've been playing with the gtr and the s2k has been on the back burner lately. It's still 1400kg....probably as heavy as the r32 lol. My friend and I built 2x 2.47L f20c over the past year. My friend's NA f20/25c made ~180rwkw and he stripped the car down to ~1150kg. He's running around QR sprint in the high 58 low 59 now. I used to run 59 with the turbo f20c so I have a bit of catch up to do. As soon as the engine is all done, I will probably strip all of the audio gear out of the car and bring it to Paul's timeattack to see it's full potential. Paul, I just realise the next Timeattack day is on a Thursday. Unfortunately I will have to miss this one

Way more than that. They should hold 1000+hp with ease

Ppg Gear Box Problems
9krpm replied to Chris Wilson's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Sorry to hear that Dave. I use the same term for the director of ppg too I had my share of bad customer service from PPG. I had their products in 2 cars as well. I wont bore you with my smaller saga but still costed too much. I wish I have been smarter and spend the extra $$ for more reliable stuff initially. -
Sorry for going off topic Paul Hey J-boy, how have you been? The honda looks good. How much does it weight now?

My turbo s2k was on the dyno yesterday to bed in the rings and I had a chance to measure the heat in the exhaust side with an IR heat gun. It was on the dyno for hours so this really simulated hot track condition. I used to have a beanie on the Turbo but did not think I need it since all of my exhaust side was ceramic heat coated. The pipe to my wastegate was not coated and is heat wrapped though. Anyway the result was amazing. The wrap is more effective than the heat coating. It was roughly 40 C lower. Could have been the good Tomei wrap I used. The whole manifold was glowing red hot during most of the initial run. It reached 500C at some stage during the tune. No wonder why the mainifold wrap never last as long as people like. If I have to do it again I would heat wrap rather than coat. Many coating places don't recommend coating + wrap because the wrap traps the heat and the heat wears off the paint. I am putting my turbo beanie back on, will fabricate some more heat shield and may be add an air duct to the exhaust manifold. Has anyone had cracks in the exhaust manifold from heat wrap?

Nzmo32 R32 Gtr Build Up.
9krpm replied to Evocoop's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Very nice build up mate. Keep up the good work. I have the ARC system and it works very well. However with the current exchange it's probably best to get your fabricator to make up a bleed system similar to the ARC whilst the car is at their shop. -
Any one has one?

Hi I just bought some new 11mm injectors. I don't really want to bore out my Greddy 10.5mm rails unless I have no choice. Does anyone want to trade their 11mm rail for my Greddy 10.5mm rail? I am in Brissy and Gold Coast areas.
