Oil Control In Rb's For Circuit Drag Or Drift
9krpm replied to Sydneykid's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Ouchhhh! That's expensive. How much was the engine back then....~150-200g? Dunc, what changes have been made on the engine/car that caused the spun bearing? Was there any new oil pump, was the rpm limit raised, stickier tyres etc etc? -
How Much Boost Is The Stock Bov Good For >>>

I had the wrong ATI pulley a while back as well. I have a vspec 32 so the shop sold me a R33 ATI because they though the crank is different to a standard 32. I had to mill the power steering pulley a few times to get it right. Lost a couple of belts on the road and at the track There isn't any tensioner pulley on this belt so a small difference in the offset is all it take to throw the belt off. The GTR is heavy without power steering. Sorry we had to mill the pulley a few times so I don't know how much we took off in the end. It's very fiddly to get the offset right Can you order the PS pulley only from ATI? What is the cost?

Thanks rysith. Those are beautiful wheels. I wish I saw your FS thread before hand. I couldn't resist the temptation and bough a set of new Ray rims a few days ago. It's a waste getting new rims for a track car but I really need more contact patch. Good luck with the sale mate

Why rebuild if they are still potentially good. Try them on your car and see if they cause any problem. You will only need to rebuild them if they have excessive side to side with some in and out play as well. Both of my T517z has the normal side to side shaft play and they made healthy 400+ rwkw. Rebuild will be expensive I would say around 1000-1200 for both.

Dazmo's R33gtr Build
9krpm replied to dazmo's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
Very nice setup Darren The beast should be fun on the track. We should put a SAU GTR team into the Queensland 500 Team Enduro at QR. It should be fun -
Some of the T517z or T518z have the side to side movement. It might be the nature of their bush bearing since the shaft actually floats on a layer of oil during operation. My 2x T517Z have the movement. My mate just bought a T518Z turbo kit for the honda s2k and has it as well. Both cars make good power without any problem. We also found out that other people with the T518Z turbo in the US have the movement as well http://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=618588 Interestingly the other Greddy turbo don't have this issue. My T67 is rock solid

I have one in SA. Check my signature. Engine was still making good power when I repalced it with something better. I still have the t517z and high flow n1 too if you like

I am after a set of light weight rims. I don't mind paying extra for a new set. PM me if you have a set lying around Cheers Dan

Is the shaft play in and out or side to side? Side to side is fairly normal for these bush bearing TZ range

Help Me Decide Which Turbos For A Street/track Setup Gtr
9krpm replied to BoostdR's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Nice! It wouldn't be too hard to change turbo if the GTRS is restrictive. IMHO the T517Z is a bit restrictive at top end in your setup. Please post up a dyno result when you are done -
Running Power Steering Cooler
9krpm replied to godzl1975's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
why are you doing this godzl1975? Is your power steering fluid overheating? -
I got my T67 gaskets from GCG. Autobarn may also be able to help you out.

Is There A New Worlds Fastest Low Mount Gtr?
9krpm replied to Beer Baron's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Yes but Andra is not making it easy for circuit enthusiasts to set drag records anymore. We only get one crack at it and wont be allowed back until we comply with the Andra rules. Gone are the days that a legally registered street car can still comply with both Andra and CAMS requirements -
I've a set of Mine super outlet pro extension pipes and dump pipe that I just took off my r32 gtr. These are good for Garrett or HKS turbo. Their RRP is HUGE, so just make me a good off and they are your. I also have 2 custom extension pipes to replace the mine extension pipes in the above setup so you can use with the Greddy turbo.

Is There A New Worlds Fastest Low Mount Gtr?
9krpm replied to Beer Baron's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
I know what you mean Russ That is an awesome achievement. It should place you at 6th fastest GTR on radial tyre in this country! Unfortunately you will need to back it up with another run to officially go into the record book ....that's only if you and Mark care about it It's a fast run and awesome achievement noneless. I wish I can be there to see the run. You guys built an awesome r32 -
What's The Benefit Of Joining Andra?
9krpm replied to 9krpm's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Thanks for all of the information 1320ft. The information is very helpful and it's very kind of you to post that. I almost got excited with the requirements until I realised that welding of any part of my existing cage to the car will deem it illegal on the QLD road. As much as I wish to, that is not possible for me because I can only drive the car to the track. I guess that will make me an ET chaser only -
Is There A New Worlds Fastest Low Mount Gtr?
9krpm replied to Beer Baron's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
Well done Mark and Russ!!! We all know that your car is capable of doing the 9. It's just a pain that most drag strip are Andra sanctioned and Andra has no leeway for street registered car with bolt in roll cage or cam spec roll cage. Did Willowbank allow you to have the 2nd run? If they did then that would have been awesome If they didn't then I am really sorrrrry to say but Pauly still has the record because you need 2 runs to be able to register the time in the drag circle May be Paul can explain that better? Well done on the new RH9 sticker Mark and Russ. Sorry I could not come out today because I got a new sticker last sunday.....a "defective vehicle" sticker for using legal RE55 tyres on the road....something every oz should be proud of hey Would be nice to see the video though -
So they still have the 100octane fuel (98 octane +10% ethanol)?

Why Is Nengun So Cheap?
9krpm replied to R33-RB26DETT's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
that is sad but very funny sorry to hear mate I wouldn't use them again either -
Is United doing the same thing with their Boost 98? Unless the car is tuned on the edge, running Vpower 98 fuel shouldn't be a problem. You will get more petrol into the cylinders compare to vpower racing and find that the car is alot richer. You will be down on power as well. Have you try the freedom 98? It has 10% ethanol as well and is only 2 RON lower than Vpower racing. If knock reads higher with the freedom fuel then pull the timing back by a few degrees until knock reading goes back to normal.
